Good product for small size lawn!!

published

This Lawn mower is very handy for small size lawn. I bought it for my old man who lives in two bedroom apartment and has no grass at the front but small lawn at the back. He absolutely loves it.

Although he is in love with this but when i tried this on my average size backyard it was struggling to mow. So would only recommend this product to people who have small yards.

A full charge batter can last for about 15 to 20 mins.

Purchased in September 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for $599.00.

Great little mower for small yard

published

I purchased this little mower for my front small yard. It does a great job, I mow regularly so am able to leave the catcher off. My only criticism is that the 2 mainonoff switch needs to be held in for the duration, which requires both hands to do so. This makes life difficult since one has to continually stop the mowing process in order to move the electric lead out of the way. A bit of a nuisance to say the least. You could get the job done in half the time with a more thoughtful design hre

Great Lawnmower but not AL 3640 CV Charger

published

I had exactly the same problem as the previous reviewer (Roger on Nov 23 2016) - the AL 3640 CV charger suddenly stop working after 4 years while the lawnmower is going just fine (the lawnmower is not that often used over the 4 years). Followed Roger's comments and located the original article (http://galooph.com/blog/2015/11/13/repairing-a-bosch-al-3640-cv-charger/), I have managed to replace the 1W 180k resistor and got the charger working again! $0.25 instead of $190 for new charger is something unbeatable. Agreeing with Roger that Bosch should have better solutions/warnings on this problem for their customers. Thank you Roger and gallooph for sharing your tips/solutions!!!

An amazing cordless mower

published

This is an amazing cordless mower. Lightweight, functional and easy to handle. The battery lasts. I have roughly 200 sqm of lawn to mow and it eats it all up with power to spare. Would happily recommend the product to anyone wanting a quiet (in comparison), easy to use mower.

Very good quality, but the batteries will inevitably die

published

I purchased this mower four years ago, with two batteries, and use it bi-weekly 3 seasons a year. My lawn is about 1/3 of a 600m^2 block, and I now go through about 1.5 batteries a session. The mower has never let me down, but battery capacity is markedly lower than when new. Batteries are expensive, but if you are willing to accept this cost, it's a powerful, quiet, and very light lawn mower! It is also surprisingly robust given it is constructed almost entirely of plastic.

Great mower with long battery life

published

I am a shortish 50 somethingish female with ms, so I was looking for a mower that did not leave me in pain. This is it! We have an average lawn size ( maybe 1/3 of a 870 sq block) and I can mow on one charge. Very impressed with the cut of the grass also. I have the height set on 3 to give the grass the ability to stay alive during Sydney summer. I like mowing..I am outside doing housework for a change..lol. I have only used it twice so far.

Brilliant Design-The future of Lawn Mowers

published

Every Lawn mower in future will follow this design leader.

Brilliant design, world class product. Lightweight, Efficient.

I purchased the Bosch Rotak ergoflex 43Li from Amazon UK, delivered to Australia. Came with 2 batteries.

Perfect constant speed. Stops immediately if grass catcher full or encounters an obstruction. Excellent electronic stall protection

I believe it uses regenerative techonoogy to recover the rotational energy of the blades at the instant it is switched off.
Perfect

Ticked all my boxes

published

Read enough reviews before deciding to buy it. Mainly for it's light weight as I have a few patches of lawn that require the mower to be carried across.

Bought the 43 LI from Amazon Germany as they can organize shipping to Australia. All up around A$550 including shipping.

Used it a few times now and happy with the mobility and the cut, even on wet long grass.
Light weight, easy to handle and carry
Not sure how the warranty will work with import to Australia

Did you buy this in Australia? I would like this model but its not sold in the shops here & I'm worried about warranty if it comes from Europe

Amazon.

Update, this is still running and going as well as expected. Doesn't get abused and batteries always charged back to full to maintain their life. (Lithium batteries are better stored charged, rather than empty).

Sorry mate. I’m not expert in this. Try ringing the Service centre? Might not be worth fixing it though.

Sorry just seeing this post today.
I had the same problem with my 43li. It used to cut out every 10 seconds or so because the isolator (safety) key was not engaging properly.I replaced the key but still no luck then it just stopped working alltogether. As a last resort I took it to my local lawnmower repair man and he was able to connect the isolator key, permanently into the body of the machine and it hasn't cut out once in the last 2 years! You just need to be more careful from a safety point of view. Unfortunately my charger stopped working today(hence I found this site) and they aren't repairable and are expensive to replace!

Rotak 43 LI

I have Sir Walter buffalo grass lawn.

Will the Bosch Rotak 43 Li mower handle this variety of grass easily?

It will but there's a cavete or two you need to think about. The longer you let it grow thus more you need to cut to get back to your chosen level will make things harder for it, so too long and it'll stall. In that situation you're better off taking the top off then cut again to your level. I've left it a few days in between cuts for those times where it's grown out of hand (ankle height).

More load then more battery used - or longer run time, more battery is needed. If I ran short then 30mins charge topped up to 80% and continued on. I think that only happened 4 times in over 5yrs when the wet season prevented mowing schedules. I used it on an old scratchy common buffalo grass that was terrible before softer buffalo grass was common. So Sir Walter buffalo should be easier than the punishment I gave the Rotak, it's just the density and length that might bite you (not forgetting area)

If you mow regularly it's not going to be a problem at all. Be aware it doesn't cut as low as you'd expect at some of the longer grass lengths. As it's lightweight it tends to sit on top of the grass till the catcher adds weight. None of the above was annoying when you consider how quiet it is and easy and manoeuvrable.

teddeebare
teddeebare

As Cobrin said. It really depends on the length you let the grass get too first.

I have no issues with my unit handling my Sir Walter. But I keep it regularly mowed. I don't find the issue of weight in the catcher affecting the mowing height too bad. But the grass is pretty dense and very well thatched at the moment.
