There is a slight program difference between the models.
SMS46GI02A has a specific glass wash program on it see description:
Superior glass cleaning system – perfectly clean and protected glassware. Reduced risk of ‘temperature shock’ and damage to glassware. Reducing water staining / cloudiness.
The other model SMS46GI01A has a Super Wash program :

The quick wash will default to 44 minutes when the appliance has no rinse aid in it. The extra time is allotted for air drying.

Machine will not start.
Error message E27 is showing (low voltage according to manual) however voltage is not a problem.
"Check Water" light also comes on.
Occasional strange noises have come from this machine on beginning of cycle.
Previous (German built) Bosch machine lasted 11 years - this one has expired three months after end of warranty period.

Advice would be appreciated.

I think you would have to pull out the machine, unplug the existing hose form the washer & drain, then re-connect them, alternatively....check on youtube :)

Does this model have any form of electrical "reset" button or fuse switch of any sort? Our washer has caused the circuit breaker to trip at the main power board. Once machine is unplugged power able to be restored but upon reconnecting the dishwasher it causes break of circuit every time.Have tested the specific power point and all fine and to double check plugged to a different point with same result.

Hi, I have found the Bosch service call centre by phone very helpful. 1300 369 744 likely a call centre in the UK, but they operate internationally. Their service agents "Fix-it-all" were excellent when they came to fix our dishwasher. Best technicians we have experienced.

Serie 4 SMS50E32AU (White)

I bought a SMS50E32AU/18 Bosch dishwasher round the middle of 2014, and last month the heat pump decided to break. It took me more than two weeks to convince Bosch that this part should be replaced on warranty as the technician who looked at it said it was faulty. I literally had to throw the Australian Consumer Protection Law at them before they finally agreed.

Long story short, the part was ordered and replaced just before Xmas. Being a family of 6 people, we're running it at least once a day, sometimes twice. Today, after I had put it on with 50 minutes left on the wash cycle, it started to pop the fuse again. Exactly the same thing as the last time. Sure enough, it's the Friday evening before NYE and I won't even be able to ring somebody to have a look at it until Tuesday.

I'm hugely frustrated because, frankly, I don't think I have the energy to jump through all the hoops and do all that runaround that I have been given the last time, yet again. Any advice?

I just wanted to say that after having made contact through this site, that the Bosch Customer Service team have been very helpful and repairs for the machine have been completed in a good time frame. Here's hoping it'll live up to the quality that I'm used to from Bosch Appliances because in the past I never did have any problems with any of their products.

I have a Bosch sms50e32au and it has never been particularly reliable. We've had 2 guys come and fix it in the past 2 years when the machine was making lots of noise. Now it's happening again. It sound like the water is not coming through the pipes when I turn it on. I have cleared out the filter and the spray arms but the machine is making a loud noice when I try to start a cycle. Before spending more money on a technician has anyone got any ideas? Much appreciated

Any tips on the position of the waste hose?? It appears to be extremely sensitive on position and continues to show an ER 24 error. The machine is brand new so there's no blockages and there aren't any kinks in the hoses. If I pull the machine out from under the kitchen bench and hold the hose in to the sink it will run, but if I push the machine back into place and attach the hose to the plumbing under the sink it continues to error, despite changing angles and position. Becoming extremely frustrating considering it is a brand new dishwasher!

Hi Kris check inside the drain pipe from the sink there may be a blokage right at the point the hose connects, Use a pencil or Rod to push around in feeling if its clear.

Thanks so much Peter! This has helped alot :)

Bosch Home Appliances
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances

Hi Kris,

Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch SMS50E32AU Dishwasher.

There is no specific angle that we recommend the waste hose to be on, in new appliances that have trouble draining waste water, we find most commonly the issue is with the size of the spigot. We recommend the spigot opening to be 17mm, any smaller than this can cause issues with draining, resulting in the E24 error code.

If you have any further queries, please feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744 to discuss further.

I'm sorry to say, there is no sound the machine makes to let you know that it has finished, this model does not have this option.
The best way I have found, is to look at the digital readout on the front facia.
When this digital readout is not visible, then the machine has finished its operation.
An interesting note about the digital readout is that it gives you "time left" in its' operation, as it counts back to zero minutes.

Hi there. I haven't had any problems with my Bosch, so I asked Professor Google if she could help you. She suggested this: if no water whatsoever is entering your dishwasher then the first obvious thing to check is the water supply. Have a look at the water inlet hose under your sink and make sure it’s connected properly without any kinks.

Also ensure the tap on the hose is in the open position – if you’re not sure which position is open and which is closed, just turn it and run the dishwasher to see if the problem is resolved. If not remember to turn the tap back again!

Beyond that it starts to sound like a job for a techie. Good luck!

Best,
Gerald
