New model with serious issues
We bought this stove from Bing Lee Bennets Green April 4, 2020. It was listed for $999 but since a competitor was offering a $50 Mastercard gift card, the sales guy discounted it to $950. The price of the stove has dropped to $899 now (less than 1 week later). As the stove was not displayed on the shop floor, we only had the internet images to go with for this new model stove. bit to have it hooked up to gas and power outlet. Overall, the stove looked good, however, after the install we started to notice a few disappointments. Our installer pointed out that it did not come with the small back splash plate like other gas stoves, not a major issue. However, on the first cook I noticed that the trivetts were coated with a black enamel which made a pot of boiling water slide around easily, as in taking the lid off, or touching the sides. This was followed by me testing out several other frying pans and pots. I thought I was going crazy or being pedantic. Therefore, I enlisted my wife who also verified that my concerns were warranted, and that I was not crazy. Having had gas stoves before that all had regular cast iron trivetts (not coated) this was never an issue. Regardless, I put it down to being brand new and needed to be worked in a bit. I used my heavy 30cm Lodge pan to test it and it slid around the trivetts as if it was on an ice rink. Unfortunately, over Easter the problems persisted and now the enamel is coming off and patches of rust are appearing. I contacted Bosch and Bing Lee to see what we can do to resolve this issue. They both asked for images which I provided along with videos. Then I waited until later in the week and nothing happened. Did a follow up call to Bosch said that this was unusual issue, but being a brand new model they transferred me to head office person who said that I will have to wait for technical support and then said goodbye and hung up. (I don’t think she knew what to do so best practice, we will call you back). So now waiting on Bosch. In the meantime, called Bing Lee Bennets Green, managed to speak with manager, who was helpful by saying that he will call his Bosch rep, however, still waiting on reply. Will update as the situation changes.
