How to clean drum
1 answer
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Jennifer W., Thank you for your question. We would recommend cleaning your washing machine every 2- 3 months. If there are odours in the washing machine, or if you just want to clean the drum, run the 'Drum Clean' programme or Cottons 90 C programme without laundry. Use a chlorine-free cleaning agent (1-2 cups of vinegar works just as well) pour into an empty machine. When cycle is done, wipe inside drum of washer with a damp microfiber cloth. If you need any more help feel free to call us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia.

Bought one of these machines very recently, have noticed the the high temperature light on the panel is on all the time, even at the start of a cold wash, is that what it's supposed to do? Everything seems to be washing well.

Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Ian,
Thanks for your question regarding the Bosch WAN22120AU.
There is no high temperature light on this appliance. If you're talking about the door locked symbol, then yes, that is always on once the water level or temperature gets to a certain point in the cycle.
If you need any more help, feel free to contact customer service in your country, you have posted this on an Australian website.

That’s for that, thought of that as soon as I pushed send button. Everything else is brilliant.

What wash setting do I use to wash towels - the one I used has towels looking flat not fluffy.
1 answer
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Elizabeth,
Thanks for your question regarding the Bosch WAN22120AU.
Most towels are best on the cottons cycle. If your towels aren't the right texture for you then reducing the spin speed or putting them in a dryer afterwards would be recommended.

Hi, does anyone know how to turn off the beeping after it finishes a cycle?
Thanks

Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Brecht,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAN22120AU.
This process is too complex to explain via this avenue. The instructions on changing the volume of the signals is on page 29 of your user manual. If you don't have a copy you can download it here: https://www.bosch-home.com.au/productlist/washers-dryers/washing-machines/front-load-washing-machines/WAN22120AU#/Tabs=tab-3185783/

Is the drum bolted togethor so bearings can be replaced in future if required, or is it permanent sealed drum unit?
1 answer
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAN22120AU.
The drum is not something that would be repaired, it would just be replaced. We cannot advise on whether 3rd party repairers would be able to do differently.

Which way does the door open? looks to be R to L (latch on R- hinge on L).
Is the direction of opening changeable (as with most single door fridges)?
Thx
1 answer
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi Tillbrids,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAN22120AU.
The hinge is on the left hand side when you look at it. All our appliances, except fridges, are unable to have the door hinges reversed on the door.

I just received my new washing machine today and the supplied Aquastop Inlet hose is too short to reach my tap.
I spoke to Bosch and they tell me I can buy an extension and it should be fitted BETWEEN the tap and the supplied Aquastop hose. I am confused by this advice since activating the Aquastop where it joins the extension hose will not stop my apartment flooding if the extension hose fails.
My understanding is that the Aquastop hose is normally fitted to the tap and stops water from the tap if a number of various faults occur.
I can't get an answer from Bosch on this issue as they seem more concerned about the machine overflowing than the extension hose breaking.
I am thinking I might have to return the machine as I am only renting my unit and don't want to have to pay to move the water supply.

Hi BushDave,
Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch WAN22120AU .
The inlet extension WMZ2380 accessory, 00670596 spare part, is the only extension hose we have for our washing machines. Making sure the hose is connected correctly is a must and if any issues occur contact us to discuss.

Hi Bosch,
It would be great if you could answer the question on your extension hose. Does it have double layer protection (inner/outer hose) the same as the Aquastop hose, to protect against a rupture in the inner hose.
Regards
BushDave
Bosch H.Bosch Home Appliances
Hi BushDave,
The extension hose does not have the double layers.

Hi - just bought this machine yesterday to replace an older Bosch which was beyond cost-effective repair - not used this new one yet! We previously used powder detergent in old Bosch - can we do likewise with this new machine or does it have to be liquid detergent - the manual is not conclusive. Thanks

I have been using liquid detergent only - I also find that powder leaves marks on your clothes more often than not. Don't have a definite answer though I'm afraid!
Many thanks Meagan
I use ecostore powder on nappies and children's clothes and liquid on adults clothes. Both cleans well n no marks residue left from powder at all

I like my new Bosch washing machine, but I'm wondering which is the Cold wash setting. Is it Dark Wash?
2 answers
I had the same problem. To solve, you repeatedly touch the Temperature button: which first shows 40C, then 30C, then 20C, then --.
The -- setting is cold water/tap temperature.
Which is much harder to get to than the old 'twist dial to favourite setting!' - but it does work.
I also set the timer to finish in 1 hour. That's okay. Apparently it's possible to do a shorter wash, but I've not mastered that one yet.
I think there's some sort of study out which found that 80-90% of dirt/smell/etc was removed in the first few minutes of washing. When I've had to wash by hand, that seems to be the case. The rest is the last 10-20% and spinning.
I always use only cold water. I was a little annoyed at first but quickly became used to tapping the Temp button (first on left) to reduce to cold setting as Jorgejio describes in above answer.
Sweety Casked
Hello Team,
I bought this washing machines around 4 months ago and was happy with it. Suddenly, a week ago, the display is not showing the digits/signs properly and the 'start' button is not getting enabled at all. I have tried it multiple times but still it does not gets ON. If I touch other options like, temperature, rpm, it works since it makes a sound.
Can you please suggest how to get it fixed ?

Less than a year old - it's a warranty issue. Contact who you purchased it from. Unless you got it second-hand...
I presume you've tried the "Windows solution"? Turn everything off, leave it, try again?
