Our buying guide will explain which type of washing machine would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.
Issue issue issue with this bosch front loader machine
This bosch front loader machine always has mold issue in the rubber gasket even though i always leave the door open. After I replaced the rubber gasket, the pcb is now burnt out. I ll avoid this machine since it just have problems one after another . I ll have to get a new washing machine during this tough time. Thanks Bosch.
Purchased in November 2021.

Worst washing machine ever
I convinced my wife to buy this model and its performance is shocking, the towels are like sand paper we have tried extra rinse, vinegar, and all these things and more to no avail.
The only good thing about it is the low water use.
Can`t wait to be rid of it no wonder at`s off the market

Not even 4 years
I liked this machine when it worked. The last few months its depositing greasy sludge on my clothes. After cleaning it myself, etc, its still happening. Just had one of their representatives out and he confirmed the seal was clean but said he did not know what the issue was and he agreed that the amount of sludge on my clothes did not collerate with the tiny bit of sludge he had to force of the seal. Its interesting that the technician questioned the use of fabric softener and temerature of water used. Although I do not use fabric softener...Read more
and generally use the machine at 30 celsius to 90 celsius, I am not sure why the machines have a fabric softener or cold option as it sounds as they would use these tools to blame the consumer. If anyone has had similar issues, please comment. Its only just gone 4 years old.

Less than a year old and door has broken Twice - Model WAE22466AU
So so so disappointed. Had this machine since March 2016. Within a number of weeks / months the door had stripped the screws and fell off. Took near 6 weeks or more to repair / get spare part and fit. Spent loads of money and time at the laundrymat and friends places doing the washing for a 6 person family. Fixed and went well.
Feb 2017 - Door has broken again today. Not happy again and expecting to spend loads (time and money) on washing again.
Can't wait to see how efficient Bosch is this time - Beginning to think from these posts that they have trouble lining the door up properly with the bowl and rubber boots and doors are being destroyed - Model WAE22466AU

Probably wouldn't buy again
We went with Bosch due to their good reputation. But as mentioned before, the constant beeping is an absolutely ridiculous design feature - and I don't want to turn it down as I want to know when my washing is done, but I don't need it to beep at me constantly. I find most of the cycles don't leave the washing smelling particularly fresh or clean either. Also, our machine is only 3 years old - 2 people in our household so we only wash 2-3 loads per week on average - and the power unit and operating module are dead. So that's $700 to fix that. U...Read more
nfortunately due to having already paid the $200 call out/diagnosis fee, buying a whole new machine would essentially now cost us $900, so we will repair it. But such a major fault after only 3 years really makes me wonder if I should just bite the bullet and get a different brand because who knows what else will go wrong and how much further out of pocket I'll be. I probably wouldn't purchase another Bosch again.1 comment

Design fault
Bought the BOSCH front loader washing machine a few years ago. WAE24462AU. I live in MZ so not sure if the company would pay attention but this washing machine is far too overpriced. I only bought it because of the brand name value but please don't buy the BOSCH washing machine. The rubber seal between the machine and the door keeps the water during the cycle and most of time, little garments like socks get stuck. To make it worst, it started to get rusty and I don't feel that it washes the clothes properly. Smells really bad too. Called the cu...Read more

Bosch makes fantastic washing machines!!!
We bought a Bosch WAE24460AU in Jan 2011, last weekend while in spin cycle it tripped the circuit breaker and then stopped spinning. I learned that ‘worn motor brushes’ could be a course. I took a look and sure enough they were worn down to less than 1cm. I replaced them at the cost of AU$78 and the machine is working like a charm again. We are really happy with this Bosch - 5 ½ years with no trouble till now and this was just ware – we use the machine about 6-10 times a week on average. So… we’ll buy a Bosch again, that’s for sure.

Absolutely Horrible Experience
I bought my Bosch washing machine. Nice and New from Harvey Norman. I'm a single guy, living on my own. After ten times use, the cascade boot (connecting the door to the machine) cracked and the machine starting leaking water. So I called Bosch customer service and they arranged for a third party to come and fix my machine. They did fix it, but gave me a 220$ bill claiming this is not covered under warranty. I have called customer service several times, but they have been extremely rude, and basically have told me it was my fault to my the mach...Read more

Ok -but I would not buy one
We are using this machine in a furnished rental while we renovate.
It has lots wash functions and does an acceptable job washing. Lots of length of time cycles and the buttons and programs are easy to use and intuitvie.
The time delay function is the best i've seen as it asks how far away until finished not you working out by adding the wash time.
The spin cycle is only 1100 rpm and is too slow -leaving clothes not wet but no where as well spun as an Asko machine we have that is 1600 rpm. I less powerful motor v the Asko is telling as it seems to struggle relatively - but does not sound like it is going to break.
BUT - the biggest issue is the $#%^%#&^! alarm when it finishes.

I appreciate the quick response - something tells me by the number of responses and attention bosch seem to take here is that there is a problem. I don;t have the manual - I am renting here - it should just be designed better and be more intuitive. Its clearly not in the same league as a European brand.Similar opinion? Dont cover warranty
I have had bosch machines for years. My first machine blow up and credit to them they covered itwith warranty .Knowing how to use these machines .I put a nightie and a childs shirt in for a quick rinse 15 minute cycle. When I opened to door to remove the nightie the boot seal was out and torn from the outside in .There was nothing on the nightie or my sons size 4 t shirt.A technician come out and couldn't fint the reason for it contacted Bosch about it and they have stated it is not covered .Buyers beware and buy something that has good warranty and covers all that isn't customers fault.

Have had this since 2011, WAE24462AU, Have used it for washing my mechanic cloths and normal casual cloths without a fault. still washing cloths clean as if it was still brand new. IF you maintain it properly, Clean the filter, drain the machine and do a empty hot wash cycle every 3 months, like you're supposed to, it will treat your cloths and your investment for a long time coming.
Clean cloths
Can be noisy at time, but depends on the balance of the load

A lemon! I will never buy any Bosch product again
This is the worse washing machine I ever had the unfortune to purchase. If there is a zero start option, I will select it. After only 7 months, the machine stopped working due a little of piece of plastic smaller than the size of a grain stuck in the pump . I have used two washing machines before, all Korean or Japanese brands, but never have any problem with removing items stuck into the pump even if sometime paper or toy got thrown into washing machine by mistake. When items were stuck in these washing, it was extremely easy to clear these...Read more
, follow the detail instruction in the manual. Not so with Bosch, the access to the pump was so small you can not removed anything without dissembling the machine and there is minimal instruction to solve the problem in the instruction manual. The cost just to removed this piece of plastic is over hundred dollar as Bosch think this is the user problem and not the bad design of the machine. And the aftersales services are atrocious, in no other company I deal with has a part time customer support to deal with customer issue. After this experience, I will never buy any product from Bosch product again and make sure no one I know about the bad quality of their product Design of this washing machine worse than a cheap Korean one, bad aftersales service, the customer supportSimilar opinion? Motor failed
I bought two front loader Bosh washing machines (maxx classics) about 3 years ago. One for work that gets used once a week ( for the hand towels) the other at home. The work one drum seized about a year ago. Tried to get warranty but they just fobbed us off said it must be us. Being on a commercial premises consumer guarantee act doesn't apply.
One at home went OK apart from a broken door but they fixed that after some pointed comments that we must have abused it ( we didn't). Now it stopped spinning or agitating. I had a quick look at it i...Read more
s clear motor is stuffed. Up to work and got my spare motor now all fixed. I should claim warranty but just can't bear the thought of arguing the point. I removed the brushes and they are both worn right out. One to the hard pin which has scored the commutator badly. I always used Fischer and Paykel top loaders in the past and got 15+ years of trouble free use. I replaced work one with a used F & P and think I will do the same at home when the Bosch dies next. In this day and age we should be getting 10 years from a machine. If f & P can use brushless smart drives with no belts for last 20 years why can't the Europeans catch up. I' m really one cheesed off consumer. Water efficiency Clothes not that soft unless you add softener etc. not very reliable. A decent wash takes long time.1 comment

I imagine you have some smart people working for Bosch, I mean you make good stuff but somewhere along the product line you went wrong. Are there maybe some eggheads sitting around in a board shooting off some ideas.
"We've made this great little washing machine, what could we do to let the consumer know that the wash is finished?"
"How about we put an annoying beep at the end?"
"hmm, do you think a minute would suffice?"
"No better make it an hour of constant beeping to make sure the average consumer doesn't miss it"
"that may annoy the average consumer."
"of-course not!"
I don't know how much that person is paid ( the man the came up with the beep idea) but I can tell you right now he is overpaid and should let him.

Design or manufacturing flaw
It is extremely noisy on spin and takes an age to complete a wash. The door to drum rubber seal fills up with gunk and doesn't drain adequately so there is a build up which is hard to clean out. If it is not kept clean the gunk deposits itself on your just-washed clothes. It has been reliable - until now. After 5 years of barely acceptable service the 'spider' which supports the inner drum on the 'axle' has broken and the drum flops around. Cactus. Dead. Our repair man (authorised Bosch repairs) tells us it will cost $500-700 to fix plus anothe...Read more
r $200 for the heating element that is almost certainly damaged by the drum bashing it as it flopped around. Bosch are apparently aware of the problem of the 'spider' breaking prematurely (why should it ever break at all - ridiculous!) on these machines but will not accept the blame for this design flaw. We also have a Bosch dishwasher which is fine except for ultra-sensitivity to water pressure which causes endless error messages and puts its little computer brain into melt-down. I will not buy a Bosch product again. We will now replace the washer with a Miele which is what I should have bought in the first place. Bosch marketing is based on them saying what wonderful and superior products they produce and if they keep saying that long enough people (suckers like me) will start to believe the rhetoric and consider them a viable alternative - incidentally this is how politicians get elected. Nothing much. It worked for 5 years before it broke Flawed design and or manufacture of a major internal part. It broke.3 comments

I believe the latest Australian models are made in Thailand, so that might explain something. That is the last time I purchased a Bosch washing machine by the way, it is not acceptable that a major structural component fails that way, and it has always irritated me that the pre-programmed spinning speeds are too low (had to run an extra spin cycle on all loads).BoschHomeAUBosch Home Appliances

So Disspointed...Error code E18
Bought this washing machine from the Good guys after reading fairly good reviews online, but to say we are disappointed is an under statement, we have had the machine for 2 months and have nothing but problems with the E18 code, every single wash throws up the error code, we have changed the inlet and outlet pipes twice, every time we clear out the filter on the bottom right of the machine, we are still waiting for Good guys and Bosch to reply back to us.
nothing yet as we havent been able to do a complete wash.
