Died at 2years old
Very disappointed to have to buy a new iron after only 2 years. It was great while it worked- heated up quickly, no water leakage once hot, auto shut off and textile protector was great on delicate and black fabric. But 2 years (almost to the day) it started smoking after about 1hr of ironing and now won't heat up when I turn it on. I won't be buying another Braun iron.
Purchased in November 2021 at David Jones for $126.00.

2yrs of everyday ironing and still working as new
This iron puts all previous irons including the last 4 top of the range Tefal irons to absolute shame.
The sapphire sole plate still looks brand new and glides exactly the same. The iron doesn't leak while ironing at all, although patience is needed till iron has fully heated otherwise it will leak.
Purchased in August 2021 at Harvey Norman for $129.00.

Very good, but did not last as long as expected
I have been very happy with this iron but it has recently stopped heating. Had it lasted longer I'd have given it 5 stars.
It lasted 3 years and 2 months. I believe the warranty was 12 months, but for $145 I thought I would get maybe 5 years with it. It has been well looked after and still looks like new. I took it to my local wonderful Repair Cafe (check these out on the web for one near you) as it was out of warranty so had nothing to lose. Long story short, it needed a replacement part but sadly these are no longer available. Now it will go to landfill, like many other items that are irreparable these days.
I'll probably replace the iron with a Tefal or Phillips, and will be looking for a longer warranty period.
Purchased in March 2021 at The Good Guys.

If you have to iron this is the one !
Nobody likes ironing but if you need to this is the one to get. It is ergonomically design for ease of use and works equally well on a range of materials. I particularly like the generous steam that the iron produces and the great range of temperature settings.
Purchased in January 2021 at Harvey Norman for $87.00.

irons clothes quite well....
Bought this iron reluctantly, to replace a Sunbeam Ultura that we had for around 15 years, so sad, as it was the best iron that we had ever owned. This new Braun iron was a Choice recommended one, about the 3rd one on the Choice list, and for the price, it does what it is supposed to do. Our budget was around $120, and after looking around, it was the best that was on offer for what we wanted to pay. It was one of the lighter irons on the current market. The only negative is that your hand/fingers can sometimes knock the temp control that is un...Read more
der the handle, so not really the best design. Very efficient with water use, compared to our old Sunbeam. While it glides OK, it is not as good as our previous iron. The auto switch off is good for safety.Purchased in February 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $109.00.

Braun sent out a returned and used FACTORY SECOND instead of new and unopened
As the company sent out a Factory Second instead of what they advertised as Clearance Stock (new and unopened with very minor box damage) I can't say much as to it's performance. But what I can say is that the iron we received (clearly a return showing signs of use) that it already has fraying on the cord and the Saphir plate has scratches (advertised as the toughest in their range). I can see why someone returned it and I will also be returning it and not purchasing Braun again.
Purchased in February 2021 for $90.00.

Excellent All-round Steam Iron
This is a great Iron, works perfectly form soft silks to stubborn cottons.
The iron heats up fast and the steam is strong and consistent.
There are a few negatives:
- The dial is poorly placed - it's easy for the fingers when gripping the iron to accidentally knock it and alter the heat settings without knowing.
- if you don't "anticalc" frequently, the iron can shockingly go into 'cleaning' mode spontaneously, putting all the calcium and gunk all over your item.
- The iron can get a little noisy, sounding like a boiling kettle.
But overall, it's a great iron in gliding all the wrinkles out of every garment no matter the material.

Happy with this Iron
Bought the Braun TS 765A (Not the TP which is discontinued according to this site). Got it at a discount price plus the cashback offer brings it to a very good iron at a great price of $79. Has a 400ml water reservoir which is more than many irons. Great variable steam function - I've never had to use the full steam setting - half way gives plenty of steam. Glides over all fabrics well. Not too heavy at around 1.25kg. Several other equivalent brands are much heavier. Cord length 2.5m - not as long as my old iron which was 3m, but adequate for m...Read more
y needs. Like that you have a dial to alter the temperature setting, not like the ones that are supposed to self adjust the temperature to the fabric. I like to be able to adjust both steam and temp. to get just the right mix for a cetain fabric, and not have the iron do it for me. One slightly annoying thing for me is the cord is situated below the handle (really a lever as the handle is not attached at the rear end) on a ball joint. The cord rotates into one of two positions in the ball joint - left side or right side of handle which you have to move yourself as it sometimes sits in the wrong position when I am ironing. This slight inconvenience may be just due to the ironing position I have my board in, in relation to where the cord is plugged in. As much as I hate ironing, this iron at least makes the chore relatively easy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Heavy noisey but a dream of an iron
This is a great iron heats up quick has a great steam system. I did notice that when I turned it down it leaked where the steam had not release out of the bottom.
It is heavy but presses well. Used it on a couple of linen shirts and perfect.
Would buy again.

Superb Iron
This is the Lexus of irons! The silkiness of the gliding motion over fabric is a thing to behold and i have never used an iron quite as good.It has a quality feel in the hand and some nifty features such as auto shut off. I am really happy about this because I have left the iron on all day more than once. Its a great iron

Makes ironing a breeze
The Braun hears up quixkly within a few seconds. I turn the iron on, get my clothing and it's ready. It glides over my items with ease and wieght and it seems to take less time to iron. It's a good shape and the steam options cut through the wrinkles. The iron will turn itself off if you forget to.

The best Iron I ever had.
I have bought this Iron after my previous Philips Iron died and I am more than impressed. This heats up quickly, it is really easy to use temperature control and that turns accurate. The Ironing becomes so easy. We maintain the iron regularly as per instruction provided in the manual.

Great iron which glides oh so well!
This iron heats up quickly and glides very nicely. It also feels well balanced when in use. Others have mentioned that it leaks. I have also experienced that on two occasions but persevered and have worked out I had not set it properly. I have thoroughly read the instruction book and it seems ambiguous with information, perhaps something lost in translation? I find the ideal setting for use is to have the temperature dial on at least two dots and the steam regulator set on 2 or 3. When it was being used with the temperature dial at the “min” se...Read more
tting or less than 2 dots, it dumped a huge amount of water from the sole plate onto the item being ironed. The book contains no instructions on settings for using the iron in dry mode, which is probably what the “min” setting on the dial is for. It does mention when using the vario steam setting that the temperature selector has a minimum temperature level of 2 dots, confusing when the dial also has a “min” setting! Perhaps instructions need to be clearer, that is, when using this iron with water, only set the dial to 2 dots or higher otherwise it WILL dump water, and lots of it! Other than that after getting the settings sorted, it is a great iron to use and far better than the Sunbeam ones I had used for many years which kept leaking water from the filler spout as the small clip on the edge of the lid was very flimsy and would break off, not allowing the lid to close properly and leak water. I bought this iron at the after Christmas sales and really like it.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Replaced a Philips Azur - this one is better
This does what it says on the tin - irons things. Does a great job, heats up quickly, maintains the heat, and the best result on my cotton shirts. No issues whatever with the water leaks etc - I wonder if other posters are following the simple turn on / turn off sticker that came with it? And they've paid the $30 cash back as well which is a bonus.

Do Not Buy - Leaks Water and will soak your clothes
I suggest you don't buy this iron. As others have noted, there seems to be a design flaw with this iron. Something inside fails and allows water to leak out (a lot of water) after a certain amount of usage. I will be returning it to David Jones for a refund.

Horrible, leaking water badly, ruined one of my favorite dresses
I thought I had made a wise decision by choosing the iron that got best reviews. I was wrong. The iron started leaking water since day 1, and ruined one of my favorite dresses that cost more than the price of the iron ( left permanent watermarks all over it). Returned it to Bing Lee and got a replacement. The new one still leaks waters badly. What a nightmare! Don't waste your money and time on this brand!

Best Iron I have ever had
I have changed iron a few times and bought different brands, the latest one is Braun - TS 765ATP Texstyle 7 Steam Iron. I bought this after searching and googling about what iron is best to buy.
I have used it for just over a year now and I am very happy with the purchase, easy to use, easy to maintain, smooth ironing and always gives perfect result. Good steam andcontrol knob to suit your fabric, never burnt clothes. Also it is reasonably priced. Highly recommend

Good quality.
I went from an 12 year old basic & solid Kambrook no steam, to my new Braun TS765ATP.
This iron is light years better, I now find ironing a pleasure, yes really! It has ample steam, heats up so fast & a great temp range. I also like the stand-by mode, it flashes when the iron is left idle for several minutes.
My only criticism is the position of the temp dial, when I pick the unit up my fingers can accidentally dial the iron up or down depending on which hand I use.

Questions & Answers
Miggs26asked
Hi, I have a Braun Texstyle 7 Series TS765ATP - it has the saphir plate. The plate was on originally and took it off as it's not needed for most of our ironing.
It's probably the best iron I've had (which isn't a steam station) - it is very good generally for steam and everything Though one major problem.
ISSUE: It seems to stick easily for some reason and once there is a tiny sticky spot, it spreads and then can damage item. This will happen with cotton as well. It drives me crazy not to mention clothes being damaged.
Why does this happen?
I try cleaning - I researched and researched before buying because I don't have money to waste - so any advise PLEASE HELP.
Maybe it's just ours?

Hi Maggs, My iron does not have the plate you mention and I have had no problems with sticking at all. I have had the iron for about 4 months and still think it's the best iron I have owned. Hope this helps.
Hi Miggs26. I have not experienced this problem at all. I do use the additional plate for garments i think might need extra care and take it off for heavier items such as demin. So far nothing has caused any sticky problem. I suggest contacting the manufacturer's customer service centre for advice.
My only thought is that it could be something in your clothes, given so many people talk about how good the sole plate is (we have never had a spot on the sole plate in two and a half years). Are you using a fabric conditioner? Or could it be something that is coming off the cover of your ironing board cover?
