Got rid of the Bushfire smoke
I bought this in December and within an hour it had cleared the smoke from the bedroom.
I don't use it all the time so haven't needed to change the filter yet.
It is very quiet and pleasing to look at. It has helped my breathing and watery eyes.
Purchased in December 2021 at eBay for $187.00.

Very Good, does what is expected
I have the Philips Series 2000 Air Purifier, the Breville Smart Air Plus and the InovaAir DE20. They all work well. Both the Breville and the Philips have a sensor to measure PM 2.5. The numbers don't agree exactly but when the air quality is intermediate or worse, they concur. The InovaAir doesn't have a sensor to measure pollution and at over $1500, it probably should. When you blow air from any of the purifiers to one of the sensors on the other machines, clean air is registered. They all work as designed and they are all good machines in di...Read more
fferent ways. The Breville has UV light to kill microbes but I'm not sure if this is a gimmick or genuinely useful. The InovaAir has a massive activated carbon filter which is good for smoke and odours. However, they all have decent HEPA filters. I'm waiting for a CHOICE review on all three of these machines. I am slightly disappointed that Breville doesn't have breakdown figures of CADR. The Philips machine specifies a CADR for smoke. The Breville just gives a general CADR figure.

Lifesaver in Canberra bushfire smoke
After the New Years’ Eve Canberra smokebomb and a visit to casualty for an asthmatic family member, this has saved us. When outside AQI was > 1000 we were inside at AQI 30 on turbo setting in an open plan area around 90m2 (80m2 is recommended area it can clean). When outside AQI 300 we were AQI 14 inside.
A fan nearby is helpful to circulate air. The auto setting is ok, but for our extreme conditions we have run on high to turbo fan speed.
The only thing I would improve is the manual. After 10 days on high the air quality produced was not s...Read more
o good. A vacuum of filter/sensor and sensor reset did the trick. This normally only needs to be done monthly. Better guidance on vacuum strength needed. Also when resetting sensor, took a few goes on the power button. Separate reset would be good. It’s little brother lap150 has been excellent clearing bedrooms around 20m2. Thankyou BrevillePurchased in January 2021 for $500.00.

Great product so far
This item was a God-send on 5 Jan in Canberra on our worst air quality in the world day. We couldn't run the air con - even though it's a closed system, smoke was still getting inside. So the air inside that day was still stale but breathable thanks to this purifier. It's been going a treat all other days. We bought a 2nd one so it can do the whole house. I hope it stands the tests of time as it's not cheap. ($539 - LAP500WHT). Buying the bigger model ensures it can cope well with larger spaces. It's very fast with quickly purifying bad air alb...Read more
eit a bit noisy. Once back to a clean level, this purifier's blissfully silent. I'd also recommend stepping up all seals to doors and windows to reduce initial smoke, pollution etc. Also running a fan with it helps it to more quickly process any bad air. I hope air filter prices come down - they're not exactly cheap considering they'll need replacement after 3 months if you're running it 24/7. It's very simple to use and changing the filter looks very easy. It could do with handles cut into it to make it easier to move it. Nonetheless, it's very light. Like any purifier, the need for it to be 20cm away from anything makes it a bit of a trip hazard. Ideally it'd be great if something like this can be fitted into existing air con systems for a reasonable price. Maybe something like that already exists but over Xmas when tradies are on holiday, and with the fire smoke crisis, this purifier met the urgent and immediate need of the situation.Purchased in January 2021 for $539.00.

Save my family's life!
Start to looking for an air purifier late November, as my partner got a very serious allergy and have to work from home due to the poor condition. Checked the review of a few brands like Sharp, Xiaomi, Dyson, etc and decided to buy this Breville one. Used it for 2 weeks, no complain at all. very easy to use, reasonable noise. Using it in either bedroom or a small office room under 20 square meter, and it works great! Compared with the most expensive Sharp or Dyson one, this Breville air purifier is excellent value!

No more waking up with headaches
Like many others in Sydney right now, I bought this to clear bush fire smoke/ pollution from my bedroom. I also live near a major road so this will still be useful in future.
Last night was my first time using the air purifier. The instructions were a touch confusing, but that could also have been my end of year mushy brain. Once I figured it out, it was straightforward enough. The unit is more aesthetically pleasing than I thought it would be when I ordered it.
The fan is really quiet and no issue at all for sleeping. I woke up today feeling more refreshed than I have in weeks, and without the headache I've woken up with most most mornings recently. Very early days with the product, but I'm really happy with my purchase.

Excellent Product Worth The Money
Easy to use. For those who suffer from asthma and / or COPD this is an excellent investment in your health. Canberra is currently smothered in thick bushfire smoke and the Breville has noticeably improved the air quality in our apartment. There is one thing wrong with this appliance - it will show you just how bad the air you are breathing is. But at least it actively and successfully does something about it. Buy one now before they sell out.

Excellent for clearing Bushfire smoke
I bought this purifier 2 weeks ago to clear my home of bushfire smoke. It is an excellent performer. I move it from our living areas during the day to the bedrooms at night. Most of the time it is not working very hard (low or medium setting when on Auto) so it seems easily able to deal with the bushfire pollution in our home. I looked at many competing products including the Winix Zero, Philips, Dyson Pure etc before purchasing this product. In addition to filtering performance, Air purifiers have a significant ongoing cost in terms of replaci...Read more
ng HEPA and carbon filters. I chose Breville because I can get replacement filters from a wide variety of retailers. I could also buy it immediately rather than having to wait for delivery. The Winix units are also excellent (check Kogan for the best price) but there is a much more limited range of places to buy filters. The Philips units have a great reputation but are priced considerably higher than Breville for a given level of performance. I considered the Dyson Pure - but that appears to be more of "a fan with a filter" than a "air purifier" thus, from what I can tell, its performance is likely to be below that of the Breville and Winix.Purchased in November 2021 at David Jones Retail Stores for $479.00.

Exactly what the doctor ordered - colloquially speaking.
What a great product - simple, quiet. economical and does what it says to a high standard. Going to be a big help this coming summer and bushfire season - and with spring time allergies, and grandkids dog/cat allergies. Our house is now smoke odour and particulate free (virtually). Very pleased with our purchase which included each of the three Breville units for different room sizes. $60-80 or so for a years filter replacement and 0.3kWh to 1.5kWh per day (24 hours) for the biggest unit doesn't seem too high a price for clean allergen free air.

Love it so far
Purchased this as our house was inundated with bushfire smoke. Our room now has no odour whatsoever and we both feel a lot better. The unit is easy to use, portable and quiet as a mouse - perfect for me as I am a light sleeper. So far I'm very happy with my purchase. Great value for a bedroom purification system.

I just bought mine today. I'm confused as to why there was no blue or red light on the control panel no matter what button I press. Does this mean that my product is defective?
Hoping for an answer ASAP so I can return it if I got a faulty unit.

I just purchased 2 of the larger units. The one in my room has blue ring on it, that I have seen fluctuate to orange and then red when I cooked dinner last night. The one my son set up yesterday has constantly had the red ring alight.
I had to unscrew the base to remove plastic that was around the filter. Not sure if your's is the same.
Have you double checked that your power source from the wall is working? Not a faulty power point? If everything is ok your end, maybe ring Breville Customer Service on 1300 139 798. I'd think you should see some kind of lighting.

My Breville Smart Air Purifier light is always on orange, no matter where I put it. It was woeking well during the fires and smoke, but now with clean air it is still always on orange. Is there a problem with the sensor?
