I just bought mine today. I'm confused as to why there was no blue or red light on the control panel no matter what button I press. Does this mean that my product is defective?
Hoping for an answer ASAP so I can return it if I got a faulty unit.

I just purchased 2 of the larger units. The one in my room has blue ring on it, that I have seen fluctuate to orange and then red when I cooked dinner last night. The one my son set up yesterday has constantly had the red ring alight.
I had to unscrew the base to remove plastic that was around the filter. Not sure if your's is the same.
Have you double checked that your power source from the wall is working? Not a faulty power point? If everything is ok your end, maybe ring Breville Customer Service on 1300 139 798. I'd think you should see some kind of lighting.

My Breville Smart Air Purifier light is always on orange, no matter where I put it. It was woeking well during the fires and smoke, but now with clean air it is still always on orange. Is there a problem with the sensor?

I just bought the breville smart air purifier. The light remains blue and has not changed color. Does that mean it is broken? Even if we cook it doesn’t change.

Are all 3 models great at removing dust particles or is there one that works better in allergy terms?

I have the smallest for my bedroom. It has a HEPA filter and the charcoal one as well I believe. Anyway it got rid of the bushfire smoke within a few hours and got rid of my new bed smell after a couple of days so if it does that it should get rid of dust particles. I was very impressed and glad I bought mine.
Hi Milly! Just want to ask, does your EASY AIR Purifier have a ring light (BLUE or RED)?
Just noticed that I wasnt the only one having issues since we do not see any ring light on our units.

We have purchased two Breville Smart Air Plus air purifiers (in Canberra) - but running in the same room next to each other one reads almost no pm2.5, whereas the other reads the highest particle rating. Are the sensor readings supposed to be accurate? What is the problem here? Which one should be replaced? We would appreciate a response, since one unit will be used for a house with a baby.

We have just purchased two LAP500WHT2IAN1 air purifier units for use in Canberra. Next to each other one reads almost no pm2.5, and the other is on the highest rating. Is one unit defective? why do they have two totally different readings when working next to each other in the same room? Should we get a replacement unit?? Does the sensor reading mean anything?
1 answer
They may affecting each other’s performance. To achieve the best results you should place them away from each other. If they are in the same room they should be at opposite ends. The readings may be still be different but their effectiveness will be greatly increased.

I’ve been using my new Smart Purifier for the last 3 days in Sydney in auto mode and the ring colour hasn’t changed and neither has the speed of the fan, is there a range of air quality (pm2.5 or AQI) readings to match the colours to?
2 answers
The purifier is appropriately sensitive and reacts very quickly when required to do so, when set on auto. Depending on the ring colour you are either fortunate that the environmental air quality around you isn’t too bad, or unfortunate that there has been no improvement in the outside air. Either way you are lucky that you have a purifier.
Thanks for the response, I’ve adjusted my question a bit, didn’t phrase it properly previously

In the manuals trouble shooting guide it says "UV-C light not illuminating". I havent seen any light since I first turned it on. Where is it supposed to light up? It doesnt come on when in Microbe Shield mode either.

Mine is doing the same thing is it meant to have one
Hi, mine is doing the exact same thing and I’ve got it replaced twice too.
Has this been answered before? I just bought mine and it also doesnt have any light. On the demo video, there should be a blue or red light on the control panel.

does it works as a cooler? I mean bring the temperature down in hot weather?

No. There's a fan but it's only to move air through the unit.
can you recommend me a cheaper cooler unit say upto $200 that works like a charm for a bedroom please.

What does the blue, orange and blue ring light on the air purifier system indicate, cannot find it anywhere in the manual??

Page 7 of the manual has a description of each ring colour. You can access the manual using this link. https://www.breville.com/content/dam/breville/au/assets/miscellaneous/instruction-manual/air-purifier/BAP500-instruction-manual.pdf

Does the unit produce ozone?
3 answers
I dont know. I know that it does clear the air and again today we have a lot of smoke on the Mid north coast of NSW and my bedroom is smoke free with the Air Purifier on while the rest of my home has a smoke smell in it. My breathing is much easier .
Excellent question. The Breville uses UV light to sterilise bacteria. It does not produce ions so it does not produce ozone. That said, there are air purifiers which do use ions to sterilise bacteria but have been tested to have no ozone omission.
They don't produce ozone, as based on different technology for filtering - HEPA and Carbon filters don't produce ozone.
