Our De Longhi Magnifica died after two years and it wasn't soon enough. While it was better than a pod coffee, it was still weak, cold and not worth the nearly $700 we paid for it. So we decided to take a chance on a semi automatic in the Breville Barista Express. We were surprised by how easy it is to make a coffee using this machine and it only took about 3 or 4 coffees to get the hang of it. Most important, the coffee is hot, it is easy to clean up and it is much quieter than the Magnifica! Really happy with this purchase.

took awhile to get grind setting right but i have had 2 mild strokes so would be probably easier for someone else .still trying to do milk right have texture right just not hot enough fluked it once .iam just going keep practising .i am sticking to the one coffee single wall filter and i use a different ground one for the double wall filters love it overall .truely reccomend it

Buyer beware with this coffee machine. It was bought July 2017. It won’t pressurise anymore, never reaches espresso and the coffee shot literally doesn’t stop pouring out unless you turn it off. Do research breville and the faults before you buy. I’m going to look for a better quality, longer lasting brand and look into this further accc.

Tried this in the shop when purchased and the coffee was great. Was on special at the time so took it home and started experimenting with different coffee's grinds cup sizes shots of coffee etc. Once the right adjustments were set it makes a perfect cup every time. Little messy sometimes but to be expected. Keep an eye on the water levels and all is great. Easy to clean with a quick wipe over. I have used all the tools to clean different bits and pieces and also used the tablets and powder to clean scale. Had to read the directions but fairly straight forward.
