Makes great bread
I got this with Flybuys points-so Yay! I've not owned any other kind of Bread maker, so have nothing to compare it to. But, it's easy to use, makes lovely bread & I can't fault it so far. I gave it to mum first, but as she didn't use it, started to myself. Really enjoy being able to use it. Have had it a few years now & hope it will last longer.

Love it so much I own three!
I have owned this oven for five years after my Sunbeam one wearing out.
Follow the recipes in the supplied book and you will have success every time!
I have been experimenting with other recipes such as Jamie Oliver pizza dough with great results.
TIP:
Set timer for 50 mins then again at 50mins. This is the last rising cycle so I remove the paddle as it is easier to remove from dough rather than a cooked loaf.
At this same time I sprinkle sesame seeds all over the loaf. Buy your sesame seeds in bulk at an Indian grocery shop. ...Read more
I buy Laucke premix crusty white in bulk then add seeds and grains. Saves buying multigrain. Homemade bread is cheap to make and equal even better than expensive breadshop loaves !Purchased in May 2021.

INFERIOR PARTS
The bread has been coming out contaminated. The parts they use causes rust.
We have contacted Breville on various occasions. They always have an excuse. They don't seem to be concerned about the contamination. The last time they blamed the machine for having past its warranty. The machine is working perfectly, apart from the inferior parts.
please see photos showing the contamination.
Purchased at Harvey Norman for $130.00.

This machine does not do what it is supposed to
Over the years I have had 4 or 5 bread makers and they have all been very simple to use and consistently turned out beautiful bread exactly as it should be either according to the recipe or the back of the packet. This one though is nothing like that. Every bake is like a magical mystery tour of random adjustments and internet problem-solving searches but even after fiddling around and making the advised adjustments an edible loaf is not a reliable outcome and that little end of process surprise makes taking the time to use it not worth it IMO. Stay clear of this product or, if you have bought one, stop struggling and throw it out. It's not you, it's the bread maker :)

Paddle problem
I’m really happy with the bread, but I’m over the big hole in the bottom of loaf caused by the mixing paddle. Sometimes the paddle stays in the loaf and you have to pry it out.but the worst is when it stays in machine and a big clump of bread stays with it

Very good quality machine
I went through a number of cheap bread making machines and none survived past one year, all leaked water from the bread pan bottom paddle. The Breville BBM100 is the first machine to last more than 4 years and I use it regularly to make crusty white loafs. I use this machine mostly to make Pizza Dough or Bread Dough and then bake the bread in a regular oven and sometimes when I don't have time I bake a complete bread loaf. Like all bread machines they tend to bake uneven crust (lighter crust on the top) and leaves a hole in the bottom (paddle does not fold in this model). Although this machine is not perfect it makes a decent bread loaf . Very happy with this machine great value for money.

I’ve had fun!
My first loaf was a disaster (should have measured the yeast accurately!) but my second was a triumph! Using the good commercial bread mixes available anywhere, I’ve been producing all sorts of really tasty loaves. Adding grated cheese, cooked chopped bacon and a few herbs makes a delicious cheese and bacon loaf. And a few tablespoons of assorted grains and seeds produces yummy bread which my family actually asks for. Using the timer means your hot bread is ready when you want it. I’m now baking bread more often than I’m buying it. And it’s fun.

Works well
Have made a few. Seems to work ok. Some flour left at the sides. Wish there was a seperate timers for 750g bread size. Has lots of features though. Medium crust is best

A good but basic machine
There are no bells and whistles on this machine, but it works. For all home bread-makers be prepared to jiggle the recipe and take the time to understand what each ingredient does otherwise the loaf may overflow or conversely, be as heavy as a lump of lead - if you get either fault the cause is your technique, recipe and/or ingredients; not the machine - you should use a quality bread-making flour and fresh yeast.
I generally make a very low salt fruit loaf - less than 20% of the normal Na content. After experimenting with several recipes I consistently get a beautifully textured loaf every time.

Doesn't cook properly
Have had a BBM100 for at least 10 years and have never been able to cook a decent loaf. Always comes out doughy and pale. Follow recipe exactly but makes no difference. Out of warranty now but would appeciate some advice to get lovely white bread everyone else is raving about. Purchase date is estimated.

More than just bread
You can make bread, cakes, pizza dough...the list is endless. This have been such a delight to use and very fun going through the recipes in their recipe book which has usually resulted in good results. The only downside is probably it's bulky size and sometimes is a bit difficult to clean.

I am very happy with my machine, its easy to use & turned out a beautiful loaf of bread. I normally make my bread by hand but cannot do that anymore due to RSI. This little machine handled my recipe fantastic & the smell through my house was devine! My tips are to put a small amount of oil in the pan & around blade to stop it sticking, use a good strong bread flour & bread improver but most important is measure everything.

Breville The Baker's Oven BBM100
Bough a seconds at the Tingalpa outlet in November 2018, the first use smelled to burned PVC cable covering, the bread was OK. The second one and the others started to come out each time smaller and raw. Brought it to the store to be checked out, 2-3 days later they did nothing, I went there again and the machine was at a table, I claimed and after talked for a while to the person in charge telling him that we used the same recepy for decades, did everythging as usual, the bread was raw and did not cook well. After a while we were given anot...Read more
her seconds. First bake....great, as the second third and so on till the 10th or 12th when the bread started to come out smaller and smaller and raw, the last time the same as the previous one machine. Never buy anything else there.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Basic Machine.
I have had four of these machines. ( left one behind when I divorced ). I still have three, one at home, one in my caravan and one at my shack. I've never had any issue with them wandering or moving on the bench, if this is a problem for you put a rubber drawer liner mat under it. I use digital scales to add ingredients, and the water ( 1 ml weighs 1 gram). ACCURATE MEASURING IS ESSENTIAL, even a few grams up or down makes a difference. Zero the scales between each ingredient. My bread doesn't hit the lid, except when I am baking in the carava...Read more
n as I don't have digital scales in the van, and cant get the measures quite as exact. Makes brilliant pizza dough. I use Laucke's premixes, and I make my own sourdough, from a starter. I use dried yeast and FRESH dried yeast is essential, once opened the yeast will begin to deteriorate. If you've had dried yeast opened for 6 months or more replace it. All my machines are at least 5 years old, still working perfectly.Purchased in January 2021.

Unequalled value
I have used my Baker's Oven for 8 years and have worn it out making everything - bread buns, pizza base, you name it, I came on line looking for a replacement.
I haven't had any failures using it and can only surmise that people who are rubbishing this great machine don't know what they are doing.
If the dough rises too high, try using less yeast; don't rely on the standard recipe to get it right, the liquid to dry ingredients ratio has to be right. If the dough is too wet it will stick to the side in one spot and not move. If it is too dry i...Read more

Excellent indeed
Bought yesterday and baked our first loaf overnight. It was a French loaf using a pre mixed recipe and totally surprised at the result
The texture was great and yes there was a problem that the bread rose and had a wet patch as it hit the underside of the lid. SO.... we re read the manual....IMPORTANT. After reading the so called bad results on here if only people would re read the problems page and work out that YOU are the one putting in the ingredients they would see that the machine does as it is told and the only variations are done by y...Read more

I am gf and need to make own bread. I would like Breville to get back to me
Easy to use yes, small and cheap but results are dreadful for gf bread. 10 months on i am frustrated and would not recommend this product for gf bread. Frequently collapsed bread on cooling after looking great initially. The gf recipes in book provided are really heavy and stodgy. No use of bread mixes covered in the research. PITY. Small paddle Seems to be an inefficient method of mixing. Dough ends up one end of pan. Design of breadmaker needs a lot of work to get my vote.

Love it!
We’ve had this machine for one week and we’ve baked 4 glorious loaves. We’ve used the Laucke bread mix and added pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds when the machine beeps. Yum! It’s really simple to use and easy to clean. Love, love, love (oh and it was the cheapest machine we could find).

Noisy, moves and overflows
Tried three times to make basic 1kg loaf - machines moves around doing literally 360 degree spin back and forth on the bench, terribly noisy, overflows/sticks to the lid. I’m not trying a smaller size loaf - I bought it to do the 1kg so if it can’t do what I bought it to do I’m taking it straight back for a refund! So disappointed :(

I have had a Breville bread maker before and we trashed it as the settings menu wore off after 3 years lol. Ok I bought this unit at a local Betta Electrical Store and it was far better than the previous unit I owned. Absolutely love it and for a simple bread maker I highly recommend it. I used to use a mixer with a dough hook, this unit is fantastic. Mine is a 1kg unit and I cannot fault it. I used it for dough mixing and even the Sour Dough mix I purchases from woollies turned out well.

Never seem to be able to get measuring right. Are the recipe measures US or Imperial?
2 answers
Measure by weight and you will not have any problems
Imperial but take note the Australian Tablespoon is different. NZ Table spoon is 15 grams where the Australian Tablespoon is 20 grams. I find the best way to measure correctly is to weigh the ingredients including the water as it measures the same.
