I have a Breville toaster bta730 - it’s our second one- it is constantly beeping and pops up seconds after pushing it down- I’ve cleaned out the crumb tray and gently turned it upside down- still no change... any tips?

Just make sure you push it down firmly so that it locks in properly.
If you find this doesn't help if it is in the 12 month warranty see if you can get a new one under warranty.

I decided to clean crumbs from my BTA730 model and tipped it upside down and now it no longer locks in place! Is this a repair job or can I 'fix' myself?

Call Breville, tell them the unit is faulty or take back to store and get a refund. This model is a lemon.

Just bought the BTA730 and it continually pops up when toast is pushed down. Does this on all settings, not impressed with this operation. After reading many reviews on this product, it seems like a lot of other people are having the same problem as me. Any solutions as replacement doesn't seem to be the answer?

I would first get it replaced under warranty, you never know the next one might not be a dud. But if it is then you can explore your consumer rights having taken the first step :)
In the first instance take it back to the place of purchase, I had no issues with exchanging my toaster. Having said that the replacement was even worse. Emailing Breville will just get you a standard reply, "Please be advised our products meet Australian Design Regulations and Breville has stringent quality control procedures in place" My request for another model met with a reply "speak to Myer to see what they can do!", no accountability from Breville at all. I now steer well clear of anything Breville. Had they have been more supportive I would think otherwise.
