About 20 minutes if food is at room temperature....much longer for food out the fridge.

Furthermore it does an excellent job....if you use a non slow cooker recipe just use a lot less liquid/stock

Yes...you need to Google it
Just make sure you type in the right model. The magic new number is written on the base
Alternatively you can email Breville Customer Support.
I have found Customer Support rather slow
You could even do an eBay search...just make sure you search for right model.

The pressure cooker bought 1.5year but only used for 2 months. Nor it indicated EO and was told by Beville service that was a non-fixable problem. I show the same problem happened to others too within 2 years purchasing. What's the real problem, must be the quality issue?

What does it mean "EO" displayed on the Pressure Cooker? No explanation on the manual and Ebrevile service just told it's non-fixable problem!

Phone the help number at breville ....good luck. I have never used mine, never opened. brown outer box, bought on choice recommendation only to realise the non stick is something I will not use. Breville won’t offer an option to purchase a stainless healthy steel pot, hope your issue is solved.

Maddie

Check
1. the silicon seal is inserted properly,
2. the nut in the inside of the lid is screwed tight,
3. the valves are washed clean and put in place,
4. the little hole on the outside top of the lid handle is in a circle shape.

As stupid as it sounds we use a heavy duty elasticated strap to force the lid down so the lid makes a good seal.

Has worked every time since we started using it.

But it takes quite a bit of force.

What do you do when the non stick bowl inside gets scratched or damaged? Is there any replacement available to purchase? Stainless steel especially would be great. I looked online and haven't found anything. This means you have to buy a new one when that happens? Thanks

Phillips makes one -- 6l -- but a matter of whether it would fit. Also InstantPot people make one - have a look on Amazon for that. I'm just studying them and would prefer SS interior. I see some NZ people being cunning buying Instapot with SS interior from UK Amazon 240 volt and then either adding new plug or using converter plug.

Hi Yes you can it has a manual mode so you can adjust the pressure level and cooking time.

Yes. Turn the 'start' dial to 'custom' where you could set your preferred time and pressure.

I have the fast slow pro. I use it mostly for soup ; and one thing I am frustrated with is the spewing liquid during the pressure release-- it doesn't matter which release mode it is on. And I never fill the pot more than half full. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Hi, this has never happened to me and I make stock and soup all the time. It sounds to me that your unit might be overheating or still in cook mode when you release pressure. This would keep building pressure, even when the cooking time has already finished, so you might get that fountain effect. I'd contact Breville because if my guess is right your unit is faulty and needs repair or replacement.

Thank you for your reply. I will contact Breville. The only thing is I got it as a gift back in June so I don’t know how it is going to work out. I will give it a try anyway.

Do you include the preheat time and steam release time in the cooking time?

2 answers
Birdie
Birdie

Any recipe that I’ve ever used doesn’t include this. So the cook time is purely the time in the middle where it’s cooking not building or releasing the pressure.

Amanda99
Amanda99

Hi Rob-Birdie is correct, the programmed cooking times (or ones you set) do not include the time at the start to come to pressure, or the pressure release time at the end. That being said, the pressure release time can be quicker if you select the ‘quick release method’ and you can manually release the pressure with a button to speed up the process. Also, additional time at the start can be minimized by starting with hot liquid in the cooker so that it comes to pressure more quickly. Hope that helps :)

I have just recently purchased the Breville Fast Slow Pro Cooker and I absolutely love it. My only complaint is that after cooking massaman in it last time, the sealing ring had retained a smell, even though it was washed in the dishwasher. I didn’t notice at the time and put it away for a week and when I opened it found that it smelled really awful, like food gone bad. I did wash it meticulously before storing and made sure is was dry. How do I get rid of the smell and prevent this from happening again?

Hi Aimee, after googling and reading forums trying to get the beef and Guinness aroma off my seal, I don’t believe there is a solution. The smell of stronger foods seem to soak into the seal and stay there despite soaking etc etc etc

After washing up, I leave my pot open overnight before putting it away. It doesn’t help much though.

One idea I saw recently was to get a spare seal and use one for cooking savoury dishes and one for sweet dishes. Another was to take the seal out and store that separate to the pot. I haven’t tried either. I just use the 1 seal, but then I haven’t cooked any sweet dishes / desserts.

If you find a solution, please post on this site. Thanks!

If you put the gasket in the oven at 350 for an hour, the smell will be gone!

Love my BPR700 and it gets regular use. Sadly the viton o-ring on the Lid Sealing Nut is worn. Have been searching for a part number to no avail. Can anyone help me with either the part number for the nut or the correct replacement o-ring size?

I do take care to slowly tighten and usually wet the ring to help it slide. Even still it is wearing. Does go in the dish washer for cleaning. As it is a sealing point I certainly want a fresh O-ring on it and some spares.

Contacted Breville(AUS) direct on their 1300 number. The Sealing Nut is part #50 and only $1.50 each. Checked prices on a few other parts and ended up with an order for- 2 Sealing Nuts, 2 Lid Gaskets and 1 Inner Pot for just over $70 delivered. Very happy with that especially since I had seen the pot alone listed for $70 elsewhere.
