Breville BOV845 -- for bake setting, timer is stuck at 30 minutes. Won't adjust. Oven will reach temperature and then start count down but I cannot change the time setting either up or down. For other setting the same thing happens...timer stays at preset time and won't adjust.

Need help.

Thanks,

Pat

Hi Pat, I haven't actually had this problem, but I have found Breville to be absolutely excellent when it comes to replacing faulty products. Get in touch with the supplier from whom you bought the machine, and give them your receipt number and they'll fix it or replace it.

My Breville toaster (just out of warranty) is making a low pitched noise, sometimes a high pitched noise and also lights flash on the display. Something is really wrong. When you tap it on the side, it stops and then functions normally. This also happens when it’s not in use. I’ was told the repair will cost $120 so, I’d like to fix it myself. Any ideas?

I just bought a new Breville Smart Pro and used it tonight for the first time. The fan seems to be a bit noisy -- should you be able to hear it?

Yes you can hear the fan quite clearly it is prominent but I do not find it too noisy. If it is not smooth sounding then you may have a problem.

Wow that’s a bit rude..

My oven fan has just seized and I’m thinking it’s from a fat/grease build up.

I also would like to know how to access the oven fan to clean it.
And it’s out of warranty by 3 months.

Hi, I am considering purchasing the Breville Pro BOV845BSS. I would greatly appreciate any feedback from members who have owned this for a while now, as a lot of the reviews are 6months+ old. Do you still recommend or has it had problems closer to warranty? I.e fan stop working etc as some reviews have stated. Thanks.

Hi nopelep, almost six months since I posted my review and I am still loving mine. I use it almost daily and everything from toast to roasts to cakes and biscuits turn out brilliantly. No *hot* spots and just so easy to use. Being a small oven you may find that there are times when the larger oven is needed, large roasts or in my case nut loaves (the cylindrical tins are tall ). I cook for one and this suits me perfectly, however it may not be large enough for family size meals. I hope this helps.

Thank u for taking time to reply. Your response is very helpful & I have actually just been reading some other very positive reviews. Sounds like it is a winner and maybe just a few were unfortunate. Certainly an upgrade from our circular glass oven, which finally gave up after a good few years, and will be better tasting. We can use the big oven for larger things like roasts. I am just happy to hear u still like it as I really want to buy. Thank u.

I have this oven. It's not quite 14 months old. At about the 11 mth mark the fan started to rattle a little. It has got so noisy especially when first starting that I'm starting to think that it is loose. I hope nothing worse. Do you think I have a chance with Breville for repair under warranty?

i would suggest you ring Breville and ask if they can repair under warranty.

If the oven is still under warranty they should repair. I am not an electrician but it could be a loose fan, or a worn bearing or something could be hitting the fan blades. If not under warranty make sure you get a qualified electrician to have a look. Better to be safe then sorry. Good luck

A couple of reviews are saying this oven is electrically efficient, can anyone confirm this? It says it's 2400W... I'm assuming that's at full power?

What I can't understand is how it is value for money when half the reviews reported faults under warranty (good on Breville for offering 2 years) or outside warranty. I am thinking while energy use is reduced for baking single trays of chips, pies, pizzas or single serve meals (house of teens)... Disposable appliances are having a negative impact on our environment too. My first oven lasted 20 years, and the next is already 4 years old. It may have been 5 times price of this appliance but it is warranty is longer and it lasts longer. I want to know how much energy is actually saved compared to fan forced wall oven and does the saving cover the replacement of this good often, and pose less environmental impact through manufacturing them and disposing of the broken ones, than extra power use of standard oven. ????? Does Breville recycle the bodies with new parts and offer reconditioned working machines?

You are correct if this oven doesn’t last a long period of time. Wall ovens aren’t accepted for recycling in my council area either. When considering my purchase I took into account the smaller amount of materials used in it’s construction versus a wall oven and it’s lower energy consumption. (Heating a far smaller area versus a larger area in a wall oven) My last wall oven only lasted 8 years. If I get 5 years out of this I will be happy. If not I will evaluate my next replacement. Wall ovens with irons were once considered the most power hungry items in a kitchen.

This bothers me as well. I would expect a $400 convection oven to last longer than 2 years. Has anyone checked ACL on this one?
