I have had coverage with BUPA Pet Insurance for about 3 years. Initially, we only had one of our pets covered, as a suggestion by our vet when he was a kitten. Last year, our cat Toby got really sick and had a very expensive week long visit to the Vet. He survived and thanks to BUPA we could actually afford the treatment to get him home. He is still happy and healthy today.
We have since bought Insurance for our other cat and our dog. And my only wish is that I had done it earlier.

I have been with Bupa Pet Insurance for 18 months and at a time that was very stressful for me, due to my labradoodle being unwell, I found Bupa very professional and the claim was processed very efficiently.

I've been with Bupa for 3 years. Within 1 month of signing up my cat was diagnosed with luxating patellas and has had 2 surgeries on one leg. Both surgeries ($2000 each) were reimbursed up to the limits of my coverage (80%). I have not spent as much on insurance premiums as I have had reimbursed, so I think it is a good investment. I've also made a claim for treatment a bladder issue which was also reimbursed.

3 years for pet insurance Health insurance with family for many years. Have been satisfied with the overall coverage and there are still options to change the covers.

Claim process very straight forward via the claims portal.

I had to put through various claims, only thing that i would add would be a view of the claim once lodged to ensure no double ups, Currently you log in to claims and when you select a existing claim you are unable to view any of the information of that claim

We've had insurance for our cat, Pepper, for about 5 years and never needed to use it. Part of me wondered whether it was worth it at all. She's recently got very sick and we've spent over $10,000 in vet bills, ultrasounds, blood tests, biopsies, etc - and there's now way we would have been able to afford that without our insurance. It's so quick and easy to upload into the portal, and we get our refunds a couple of days later. We have probably put in about 10 claims so far. I would hate to be in a position where I am asking myself whether I can afford to keep my cat alive, and thankfully with our insurance we don't have to be!

Claim was super easy! And processed so quick! No problems :) seamless process. App was easy to use. Reccomend. Great

Sick dog, expensive vet and specialist vet bills, claims submitted and thankful for the refund. Thank you BUPA Pet Insurance, i was very impressed with the ease and speed of finalizing my claim.

Claim was paid quickly with good communication. Cannot fault Bupa. The form was easy to fill in and my vet happy to comply.

I am happy now but was unsatisfied to begin with, when they told me they would not accept my claim but accepted the first part and tried to decline the surgery of my dog I had to wait longer while my dog was in pain to get the surgery performed.

My dog was diagnosed with a form of cancer in June. I had sorted out insurance for her about 4 years ago and had never made a claim before until now. We have made a significant amount of claims for surgeries, chemo, medications and vet checks and it has been so so easy! There have never been any concerns and having insurance with BUPA has allowed for me to give my dog the best possible treatment that she can get. Some claims do take a while to come in but thats no a major issue. Thank you so much BUPA!!

I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and we seem to always be at the vets. I have claimed for an operation for my cat and my dog plus a few others things...Bupa pet insurance is AWESOME - they are fast, hassle free and seem really ethical in terms of covering your claim. I did shop around and they were the cheapest too! Very happy!

I was very worried making a claim due to the large number of negative online reviews, however I was pleasantly surprised. My claim was initially rejected due to the inadequate notes provided by my vet, but Bupa staff helpfully explained the reasoning behind the decision and what further information was required. After providing the additional information, my claim was accepted.

The only slight negative is that the whole process took over a month.

Before I went to the vet, I gave a call to Bupa. They said I can claim my money back. After like a month, I called Bupa again, a lady said that they have sent cheque to me. However, what I got is remittance advice which says my claim amount is less than annual condition which is $100 and there is $16.31 excess remains, which means I will not get my money this time. They should have asked my situation and explained well to me. I already decided to cancel my own insurance and my pet insurance. Just disappointed.
PS: I also have a problem with claim from my GP, so I will cancel both insurance.

I was worried signing up with these guys then stumbling on this review - but I just had to claim something and they were very good chasing up the notes from the vet when I didn't have them. All went through without an issue. I can't see the breakdown of what they paid vs not which is a bit odd, but regardless - can't complain.

I have been extremely happy with Bupa Pet Insurance. My Ollie has cancer and Bupa have made it very easy for me to claim the expenses. The portal system is fantastic. No claim forms. Just the vet notes and receipt are required. I receive a text within 24 hours stating that my claim has been received. It is usually 2 business days later that I am paid. I have had many claims and I am rapt with the service. I was previously with Petplan and they were terrible. I would highly recommend Bupa if the service continues like this.

Claim was for around $2000 and we received around 80% back. Timely refund after around 10 day, try and get the vets to assist you or lodge the refund for you.

Very supportive and emphatic when you need a caring and understanding person when your fur baby has been injured. The refund was quick and easy. The tiers of cover are also easy to understand and very affordable.

September 25th 2018 Update: Cat pet Insurance

I’ve been with BUPA Pet Insurance for around 2 years. They have been there for my cats recovery after her accident with a very good response with the claiming process.

Simple and easy process, customer service empathetic and willing to offer support. Fast turnaround for claim approved and reimbursed. Very satisfied with service.
