Leaves stains on painted wall
I used this product after finishing deck following the instructions. Rinsed the whole deck properly and found stains all over the painted wall. I immediately tried to rinse these and tried soap and hot water but result is probably we need to paint the whole wall again.
Purchased in April 2021.

Way Overrated - I agree!
I followed all the instructions exactly and it made no difference to the deck and I mean zero difference. A waste of time and money. The deck was stripped back to bare wood etc, so let’s see what excuse Cabots put up. The advertised pictures were too good to be true and indeed they were. Very disappointing. Just like the other reviewer, no visible effect.
Purchased in April 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$24.00.

Way overrated
Apparently this is an essential product to use whenever preparing to re-oil or stain your deck, yet it has no impact at all in actually removing old stains and oils
Purchased in February 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse for A$20.00.

Hi Dan,
Thanks for your review. While the Cabot's Deck Clean can help remove some old and weathered coatings from the timber, it is not a paint remover. ... Read more
The main purpose of the Deck Clean is to best prepare new and old timber for coating. The Deck Clean is designed to to revitalise and clean grey, weathered and soiled timber and removes naturally occurring tannins from new timber. It is also effective in removing mould and other contaminants. For the most effective method in removing an old coating from timber, we always recommending sanding, or the use of a timber stripper. Visibly works !
It works !!! It is a bit of a workout for your muscles but the end result makes it worthwhile. You can actually see some difference while you are doing it, and after it dries you really notice the difference. It leaves the deck really clean, ready for oiling.

Great product
I used a pressure wash on my decking boards.
It cleaned them up and I was thinking that further preparation before staining might be unnecessary.
Since I had already purchased the Deck Clean, I decided to used it.
After completing half the deck, I was amazed at the improvement.

Questions & Answers
N Chapmanasked
We have been asked to make good damage to a painted weather board house, where a handyman has incorrectly used Cabots deck clean to wash down most of the house. (including the decks) Its a beautiful old villa. The deck cleaner has left stains on the glass, polyurethaned window sashes, weatherboards, window sills, decking balustrades. The home owner has tried just about everything to clean of the residue left. So far everything they used has had no effect and the residue returns. Its like efflorescence continues to come out of the surface. Even the glass seems to continue to emit this substance. Obviously we are going to have to recoat these items, (not the glass) but we need to be able to prevent the substance coming to the surface. Does it need to be neutralised? We would appreciate any and all assistance.

We've just built a new Garapa deck. It's been muddy and all of us have walked on it in muddy boots. It's covered in sole print marks that I cannot wash off!

Hi Anne,
So I can assist you, I need to ask a few questions.
Is the timber bare and uncoated?
And have you used anything to clean the deck?
Thanks - Team Cabot's

It's uncoated Garapa and has been down about a month.
I tried Handy Andy and scrubbed and now I've just started cleaning with Cabot's Deck Clean. It's due for a rinse in five minutes.
