Where do we begin?
The van was old with tape over the engine light so you couldn't see that it was on, this should have been a warning but was the least of the problems.
On departure, about an hour in to our trip, we learnt that the cigarette lighter didn't work therefore we couldn't charge our phones while driving. Essential when using for maps and music. Once we arrived at our first stop, we learnt that the stove didn't work either and we had to spend 2 days going around to try and get it fixed. Even once fixed, we had to hold the button ...Read more
for the gas in the entire time or the stove would turn off. Not ideal. The cupboards in the van although locked, would open and food would fly around the van whilst driving. Every drive resulted in having to clean up the back of the van afterwards. We were charged for baby-seats, although we never requested or needed them (2 women travelling alone) We were told that it would be refunded when we dropped off the van, 6 weeks later. A couple of nights in and it rained. This is when we found out that there was a leak in the roof that meant that it dripped on to our bed, making it very hard to sleep comfortably. We constantly tried to reach out to them for assistance but they were extremely unhelpful. We asked them if we could swap the van over for a new one in Sydney multiple times (we were driving from Melbourne - Cairns) but our requests were ignored each and every time. When they did respond, they would ignore each and every request made and would only offer $100 - $200 for the inconvenience. It’s was an amazing experience
It was all great, the costumer service was there 24/7 with a hotline. Also no problems with the payment and deposit. We loved our vehicle it was just perfect for us two girls. We had everything we needed and the service was great. Definitely would do it again with Camperman.

Great experience
It was great to have the van because everything you need is in the van. Kitchen, bedroom and living room, everything in one:) Enough space for TWO people. We would do it again.

Really good service, van a bit too old
The customer service was excellent. Also the equipment of our campervan was excellent. No problems with the payment. Our campervan has already made many journeys, so the interior is oldfashioned

Good camper
Not great customer service at the beginning, arrived to pick up the camper at 10am in Sydney and 2 hours later we were still sitting waiting for it with no updates from staff. Once on the road it was a good reliable camper and we didn’t experience any issues with it. Booking it was easy with helpful staff and returning it in cairns was also a breeze. Overall, would rent again from Camperman, however the 2 hour delay at the beginning soured the experience and meant it was very hard to plan our first day, as we had no idea how long we would be waiting.

Good van
It was a really nice van and we had a safe travel. But the tire pressure was to high so they did not check this before we took off. Nothing was filled up, no petrol, no water and no gas. So before our trip started we needed to do all this and that was a bit annoying. But beside that we had a good trip with this great and big van, lot of space and all stuff were there. Thank you Camperman

Everything was fine, just one problem in between which could be solved after one day
At the most times the customer service was great. They always answered very quick. Just after two days our power stopped in the evening and we couldn’t find the problem. The hotline was not very helpful as the guy answering was in a party and didn’t really want to help us. However they apologised the next day and sent us directly to a mechanical who could help us directly. The van itself was totally like expected. No problems at all. We drove from Brisbane till Cairns in two weeks. Maybe there could be little more space for the clothes.

Amazing adventure
Customer service has been incredible given the corona virus outbreak to accomodate my needs. The van itself was very clean, a good size and easy to drive. All staff have been extremely friendly and helpful throughout this journey from Melbourne to Cairns. Look forward to coming back and doing it again!

Avoid, avoid, avoid
Avoid at all costs. Very poor customer service. Definitely avoid if you don't want to get stung with big charges for nothing - recommend you use one of the many other providers available.

the country 2 days before. Camperman not only refused to return our deposit, but took extra money without authorisation to cover 50% of the outstanding cost. This charge was taken even after providing them with a clear and reasonable explanation of the situation (within 24 hours of the legislation being announced), with 9 days notice of the cancellation and then after they were expressly refused permission to add the extra charges onto our card. In short, Camperman seem happy to force their customers to either break the law, spread a pandemic and risk imprisonment or to cash in on their misfortune by stealing large sums from their accounts for providing nothing whatsoever. awesome roadtrip
good customer service. One day the car made a weird noice. We called the Camperman office and were given very clear and good instructions by phone. They also immediately told us where to go to see a mechanic.
A small inconvenience was that when it rains a lot, like the tropical rains up north, some water came into the van (only a little bit).

A great experience!!
Jolly good times in the Camperman.
Doug the van was awesome. Cosy for three people. great way to experience the east coast of Australia. The lower bed was very comfy but the upstairs one not so much but that’s expected. Had a cooker and fridge which was nice but we had to buy a toaster and fuel was quite expensive as the van was thirsty.
However lovely and Helpful customer service and everything handled well. :)

Best Road Trip!
All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The vehicle was perfect and had no faults. We drove up the east coast for 5 weeks and it was incredible! Would highly recommend. The van was spacious and came with all the equipment we needed. Great value and we’ll be using them again!

Nice and cheap
We drive from Brisbane to cairns and we were pretty in luck to get one of the Hitop Campervan. It was nice to drive und we slept very well.
The booking was easy and pick up / drop off was the same.

Campervan jade 3 camper review
Terrible company. Paid more money for a good quality experience in a compact RV. Van had only 1 window work which was absurd in queensland. ANT infestation by the water tap. Overall van was a disgrace. Pay for appolo or britz and have peace of mind because this was not good. I mentioned bug issues and they offered no solution or discount because it's not there issue? Criminal! I took pictures and will follow up.

Easy, convenient and cheap way to travel
Good deal through imovaa, friendly and helpful staff at Camperman.
The vehicle had an almost flat battery, ran dry during our test drive. We had to wait for several hours for mechanics.
Everything else went smooth and nice after that.

Crap box
What a load of crap van was old dirty and very poorly maintained and it stunk like crap. We were ripped off by this company, charged way to much for a crap box and then they wouldn't return our deposit saying its company policy to keep deposits.

Awesome experience!
Would definitely recommend Camperman Australia! Had great customer service from the get go. They made sure we were comfortable and had no dramas. Older van but got us from A to B and had everything we needed inside. Pleasure renting off them and would happily do it again when we are back in Australia. Good Aussie people :)

Economy Jade 3 van- look to a different provider
The long and short of my experience was an overwhelming sense that the van I was driving shouldn’t be on the roads, and Camperman is well aware of the safety and general low quality issues. I was offered $81 USD to not write an accurate online review and sign a contract stating I would not negatively publish my experience (now guessing there may be a lack of reviews due to this payoff/ contract). In my brief trip I saw many other rental van companies with much nicer vehicles parked all around me. Perhaps I got unlucky with a one-off crappy van but in reading the previous reviews, they might consider updating the fleet and putting more into maintenance. Before I forget to say- Australia was absolutely beautiful with fantastic folks and I look forward to traveling there again, although with a different set of wheels.Similar opinion? Watch your step - they are focused on tripping you up.
Camperman On-line system allowed us to book an Auto, whilst their website said wouldn't charge the Credit Card until the vehicle was confirmed - well that was a lot more bull dust than we'll see in our travels. After trying to resolve it with them, they still won't refund the full deposit yet they wanted me to pay another $400 to upgrade. No way Camperman - got an a better unit with Auto, Later model (Not the vintage they use) Fully insured with No excess for less than their manual van, so search until you find another company or contact me for suggestion.

How old are your campervans in average and with how many milage (paradise shower/ toilet)?

The vehicles are old with very high mileage. According to their advertising the vans are 2006-2012 so don't expect a new and modern van because you won't get one!
