B200 Error mx726
Bought this printer a couple years ago from office works the only problem i have with it is the b200 error and it in my case the print head keeps clogging up so all i do is pull the printhead out and run it under hotwater on each cartridge hole until it runs clear leave it to dry for an hour then run it under hotwater again till it runs clear you need to do top and bottom, The bottom i use Isopropyl alcohol to clean the nozzle holes when dry just put back in machine run printhead alignment and nozzle check and that fix's my problem for a while,...Read more
if i am doing a lot of printing it seems to work well but if i only use it once a month that is when i start getting the clogged printhead. The scanner works fine had no problems with that. The only downside it is heavy on ink.Purchased in September 2021 at officeworks for $185.00.

Problems within 2 months of purchase...
After the supplied ink cartridges were used up, purchased generic ink....within a short time, the red or magenta did not come through anymore.....so after weeks of frustration and unable to print anything in colour, bit the bullet and purchased a genuine Canon magenta ink cartridge from Office Works...installed it correctly and it still does not print anything in red.....just tried to deep clean etc following manuals instructions and guess what? It still does not work...this is the second Canon MX726 we have purchased in three years and definitely the last one....Canon your printers suck.

Great printer, TERRIBLE scanner
No issues with printing jobs, it does a fantastic job!
However, when ever i need to scan it will skip pages, spit them out back to front, jam constantly, and i find the scanning programs frustrating to use, especially when trying to scan into pdfs. As scanning is a major reason i got this printer with the feeder tray, if i could do it over, i would probably get a different printer. Would suit someone perfetly who only prints.

Absolute rubbish! Problem after problem!
Bought about 2 years ago. Nothing but problems. Not a lot of use. Now says fault B200 - means get it fixed by Canon as something wrong inside which will be expensive to fix. Problems with scanning, copying mainly. Exceedingly slow to start and tp print and scan. Thus is my 3rd Canon in 5 years. Now going to another company for my next one.

Great for the price
It is quite slow to start up but the print quality is great.
It is very convenience to print via wifi by computer or smartphone.
I setup my printer with Google Cloud Print and I can print from anywhere with my phone.
Double sided scanning is also a factor why I chose this printer.

Slow, quirky, dead!
3rd Canon desktop all-in-one I've bought, and each time they last just over 3 years and then turn up their toes and die!
Scanning has been good, printing, albeit slow, generally works ok, have produced brochures, greeting cards, and photos with it. Quite happy with the photo quality, although they tend to fade after a few years.
Bought in June 2014 from Officeworks with an extended warranty (for an extra $17). It's only had VERY light use, in fact, some weeks, I'd be lucky to use it once. Despite that, I still had to change the cartridges t...Read more
wice a year. If I had only bought Canon cartridges it would have cost me approx $260 p.a. for XL's, almost double what I paid for the printer. Doesn't take a mathematics or commerce degree to work out what's going on there...what a rip-off, when you can purchase quality generics for 5% of the "genuine" cost (yes, for those who don't realise, you read right: approx Five Per Cent, $1.50 each if you buy in bulk). And according to the ACCC, that DOESN'T void your warranty, contrary to what Canon would have you believe. 6 months after my warranty expired, it suddenly stopped working (after I'd printed one birthday card) with the dreaded B200 error. No amount of cajoling and Youtube fixes would restore it. Rang Canon but all they could say was "we'll give you the address of your local service centre". No offer to pay for it. Local service centre quoted $30 to inspect, another $30 to repair, plus x dollars if it needed parts. I declined, it only cost $139, which included bonus paper, & it's 3.5 years old. Glutton for punishment, I'm going to try one more Canon, but a different model. Pixma iP8760. There's only one review on here, but I suspect that not many people buy them, as they're twice the price of the MX726, with less features. Photo quality is supposed to be superior. Ordered it already, reason being they are the only manufacturer who sells a reasonably-priced A3+ printer with 9600 x 2400 DPI, all the other manufacturers have lower resolution at a similar price point. More expensive than the MX726 (I paid $287 + freight + credit card surcharge, total of $311, had to buy it online as few stores in Perth stock that model; due for delivery this week).Similar opinion? Very SLOW, Gulps through ink and now doesn't work!
Bought this Canon MX726 printer in 2016 to replace our trusty old HP PhotoSmart 3310 that we'd bought about 10 yrs earlier which finally seemed to have developed some unknown printing. problem. (Never had a single problem in previous ~10yrs) We thought Canon was a reliable, trustworthy brand (like HP) so opted to change brands for no particular reason and bought the Canon MX726 printer instead. One would think that over 10yrs technology would advance to create an even better much more reliable and efficient printer. We also understand the bus...Read more
iness model of all printer companies is to sell the printer cheap - but charge $$$ for the replacement ink, also understand that new printers only comes with a minimal ink supply. I got that bit. The problem with this Canon MX726 is that from day one it's been ridiculously SLOW printing - even a basic single page of print (1page per min - if lucky) and uses crazy amounts of ink. We don't do very much printing at all and I replaced a full set of ink cartridges about 6 weeks ago (AUD$130) - and now it's starting to run low again!!! WTH??? Now it telling me 'error - no paper' - well it has a full set of paper (not overfull) and i've checked and reloaded and 'error' and re-checked/reloaded and 'error' and re-checked/reloaded and 'error' and checked and reloaded and 'error' etc. I've reloaded the paper precisely as I've done in the past - but still damn error. WTH?? Won't print! Many times in the recent past it just refuses to print from the print queue AT ALL for absolutely no logical reason. Just doesn't/can't print.... Damn inconvenient and frustrating at 2:00am when something HAS to be printed! Now in my frustrations with this useless Canon MX726 and with minimal effort I've managed to troubleshoot and restart the old Hewlett Packard HP3310 and it's working and printing just beautifully - and quite fast and reliable. Not like this damn Canon garbage. Grrrrrr!!! Don't buy this Canon MX726 printer - it's been garbage from day 1.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Ok for the price
This is a handle little gadget. I mainly print lots of paper work for university. The ink doesn't last long but I guess with all new printers you will find less ink in the printer to start with. The price was affordable. I don't really have any other complaints as it prints just fine and that's all I need it for.

Good for the price
Fairly good printer for its price. For those saying the print quality in only satisfactory, I also found this but when I bought more expensive paper other than thechezpest ream I could find, the quality was definitely better. The wifi tends to be a bit hit and miss and it's not always easy but other than this I'm happy with my purchase.

Not great
At first, it prints OK, and scans OK, but then headache after headache.
The software crashes frequently on a Mac, and there are multiple ways to do anything.
It used to let me scan at my scanner then the document showed up on my Mac but that hs broken and I can't seem to fix it.
Now for the past 6 months, I have not been able to print anything of any quality.
Deep Clean the print heads might get me something legible, but not any good quality and then they clog right up again by the next day.
I tried print head alignment but it keeps failin...Read more

Very good printer . Great for the money!
I don't understand why some people right negative aboute this printer. I replaced my MG 5660 with this MX726 and the deference is amazing. Faster auto documents feeder and takes the same cartridges as the MG5660 .so i didn't have to throw away my left overs. Wifi network very quick setup. Very happy with this printer. Highly recommended? $85 from officeworks.

The terrible people don't have a clue
Look.... for $85 what you get is phenomenal - <$10 for a pack of cartridges on eBay....... It works flawlessly over Wi-Fi and the output from both scans and prints are of a high quality. People that rated this low IMHO are just not tech savi. Don't blame the tool if you cannot use it... Why not 5 Stars.. - It's big but hell for cheap ink and an all in one unit... its a winner,.

A terrible printer.
The Canon Pixma726 looks like a promising printer, it is compact, and when it works, the quality is satisfactory plus. But it never lasts. I bought two Canon MX726 printers, fortunately at Officeworks, I had to return two printers, and just now, the third time the printer has stopped printing, with the message 'Filter" failed. There is no hint anywhere how to correct this, so I will be forced to return the printer, this time I will get a product from a different maker

Efficient and affordable.
I decided to ignore the derogatory reviews that were posted for this printer, because I've had a lot of Canon products in my life and they have always been well designed for their function and given dependable service.
I went ahead and purchased the MX 726 and although it's early days yet, it was cheap, it was straightforward to setup and the wireless connectivity with my iPhone, iPad and old iMac was instant. Good quality and fast printing was the result. It was not overly noisy or slow as one reviewer suggested. I think that careful reading of the instructions and step by step setup will reward anyone who buys this cheaper range Canon printer.

When it works, it's alright. But it takes its sweet time about it.
When it's actually printing things, the quality is good for black, colour, and photos, the paper handling is good, the dual tray is a great addition. Price is low.
When it's scanning, the UI is simple enough, the USB input works fine, the auto document feeder works well (although scans come out a little rotated, which is annoying), and the auto duplex scanning is extremely handy (especially at this price point.
I bought this mainly because it's the only printer anywhere near this price level with an ADF duplex scanner, which means you can...Read more
automatically feed in documents and scan them double sided (which is great when going paperless). It works reasonably well but is very slow. However, others have already identified most of its flaws: - Takes approximately 20 minutes to 'warm up' the first time you need to print something after turning it on, or after it being idle for a long time - Often loses connectivity, requiring a power cycle - Often freezes on 'Ending...' requiring a hard power cycle, which presumably causes the printer to purge ink (see below) - Driiiiinks ink when not printing. Probably due to the above, and the countless cleaning cycles it does. During the last 6 months I have hardly used the printer - I have printed maybe three 6x4" photos, and about 20 pages of black text documents, and the printer has gone through a full set of colour inks (well, the Magenta is merely 'low').Similar opinion? The Best Printer Money Can Buy
Print quality is amazing, Refills are well priced
Print from Mac, Iphone, Ipad everywhere.
Easy to use, scanning is a breeze
Will not use any other brand, Canon you have won me over.
It has never failed me, always there when I need it.
Simply the best. . . .

High res photo printing
I think this is one of the best printing resolution without spending extra. It has its separate trays for 4x6s and A4s and it prints excellent photos and decent speed. I don't use the fax functionality because it's not really my era. It may sometimes spend a lot of inks while cleaning and it might make you spend more on inks. I tore my warranty (i feel this is a tough printer) and installed my own CISS. It was a bit hard to setup but once i got it going, the machine keeps rolling in and printing good photos. Too bad this is already phased out i think.

Slow and drinks the ink!
Horrible printer. So much bloatware in the install, it covers your desktop! And then it takes ages to load up just to print. Very complicated to use. I've avoided Canon based on this experience. Stick to Cameras, you guys suck at making printers. I wouldn't want to burn my reputation for recommending such a shoddy product. I actually bought this for my parents and it's a horrible experience compared to my Brother printer. I actually bought this after the Brother printer thinking Canon was better, hmmmm. We can't all be right all the time I gues...Read more

Worst printer ever Canon MX726
Randomly loses its connection so have to power it off/on before I can print. Jams trying to do double-sided print. Goes though ink really quickly. Frustratingly slow. Even the scanning process is ridiculously complex - have to allow around 4 min for a 1 page scan, and heaven forbid if it is double sided!

no end of problems
I can't rely on this printer. Every second time I want to print it just wont with no explanation and no error messages. So frustrating! It goes through ink incredibly fast and the refills are ridiculously expensive. I'll be replacing it asap. Absolutely thee worst printer I've ever used and will never buy a Canon again!

Can you scan negatives on a Pixma MX726? I notice there is a small film strip size panel before the A4 plate, is this specifically for negatives, if so, how do you use it? Thanks

Where is the on-line manual??!! Argh, it's just stopped, just like my last Canon!!!!

It's in the disk that come with the printer. You must select install all when you insert the disk . Than you will find a shortcut on your desktop screen.

Does anyone know the standard warranty on the Cannon Pixmar MX 626? Ours finally died. Purchased in late May 2015 and less than two years of erratic, problem-ridden use does not seem good value.
Will not be a repeat buyer of this brand.

Hi. I've been using canon printers for the last 25 to 30 years. They are the best value / performance printers on the market. But you have to pick the right model. The pixma 626 is not one of the good one's. I have the 726 wich is very good. It comes with 12 mth warranty as most printers on the market.
