Bang for buck on simple printing
If you need a simple printer for occasional printing need, look no further. This is the 3rd Canon printer Ive bought for around the same price (the 2 last I sold when moving). The ititial ink seems to last for months... prob 30-50 pages before it started to fade. Highly recommended.
Purchased in September 2021 at JB Hifi Home for $50.00.

Great value for money
I'm a long time Canon printer user and when my 11 year old workhorse MP495 printer died a few months ago with two brand new cartridges ("ink absorption pads full" error - fatal), I thought I'd easily be able to replace it like-for-like. All I wanted was a reasonably fast small business/home office printer/scanner with wifi capability and combined ink cartridges (I also have a Canon high-end photo printer with separate cartidges). I did a LOT of online research and due to some reviews nearly steered away from Canon as I couldn't seem to find ...Read more
anything reliable with good reviews. Then I spotted this one on sale and despite it being way cheaper than the one I was replacing, I took a punt, have not regretted my decision so far. It was easy for me to set up with wifi ( although I've done it several times before; you do need to download the IJ scan utility from Canon and make sure all the drivers are up to date if not using the CD supplied). Cons: You have to duplex feed (double sided) manually, unlike some of the other new model printers. You need a colour + black cartridge and they are reasonably expensive but not too bad if you get the XL versions. The cartridges are not very easy to see when replacing. BUT.. I love the way it automatically switches on when you send a file to print (you have to switch this setting ON) and print quality is very good. All up I'm happy with this, it's great value for the price paid.
