My Razorback cuts thick heath, sags etc no worries on my property but there’s constant punctures - the tyres are not robust with the treads so wide. Is there a heavy duty tyres available?

1 answer

Hello LJB,
There are other tyres available however the more heavy duty ones wont have as much traction.
Some other options are to solid fill the tyres with foam or Tru Blue goo. Your local dealer should be able to assist with these options, alternatively contact us on 1800 088 567 or [email protected] if you would like to speak to a product representative.

Hi, any idea why the 1402 has had its Subaru engine replaced by a Honda unit? What impact has the change had ? Have there been any other changes in the new model?

Also, is anyone in a position to compare the Crossjet 4x4 with the Razorback CMX 1402?

Thanks.

Hello John, Thank you for your enquiry. Subaru is ceasing production of that engine. The new Honda unit is a very strong unit with some field reports suggesting it may have a little more power than the Subaru unit. Both are equally reliable engines. There have also been some small improvements to the machine, including improved guarding under the machine, a more comfortable seat and an improved latching system on the side flaps.
In regards to your question about the Crossjet, we would encourage you to get a demonstration of both units so you can see the differences first hand. We offer obligation free, on-site demos of these machines. To arrange a demo, please give us a call on 1800 088 567.
Thank you,

Hi Tania, unfortunately I’m from the UK and have a place in Portugal that needs clearing. Getting a demonstration is going to be problematic and it also doesn’t answer the question about parts availability, self maintenance and servicing. I think ground clearance will be important and it seems that the Razorback is better in this regard.

Hello John,
As the Australian distributor, we cannot sell or service outside our territory. It would be best for you to contact a local supplier of these machines and request a demonstration from them.
However for any machines sold within Australia, we are committed to maintaining the availability of parts and servicing.

Hi, I am interested in a 1402 for my 5ac property. I have the grass under control now so would like to know if I can get turf tyres fitted. The steepest parts on my property are dam walls and a bank below the house. I want to use it for mowing the lawns around the house as well. So want the best cut possible with no damage to the lawns from the tractor tyres?
Regards, David

I don't know if turf tyres on the razorback would work as well. The tyres are designed for traction and turf ones may not provide the grip and control. Thereby they would slip and ruin the lawn. But that's not what I got the razorback for. For lawns alone I would just still to a good rideon mower. But that said I use mine on my lawns.

I don’t have any issues with the oem tyres on the lawns as long as I mow when it is pretty dry. If it’s wet the tyres may damage the lawn depending on the slope and load on the rear wheels.
Flat running is not a problem.

Hi Meg
They do not come available very often as no one sells them I looked for like 12 months before I bought mine new and I only saw a commercially used one and it sold in days.
Good luck and if you have a hilly block you will not regret it they are awesome machines.

I am thinking of buying a cm1402 with 60 hours on the clock. My acreage is up and down and has been neglected for while. Looking to tidy up Long grass and Lantana on the sloping block. There is also flat land that gets a little wet. Do you think this model will suit?

Hi There it's amazing on hills I have parts of my block that are safe for mountain goats and it has no trouble as long as you keep revs up.
For wet though it will have no trouble but the tyres are like mini tractor tyres and they can chew up wet lawn if not careful.
Lantana ECT I don't even pick up small branches it just chews them up.

They are great on slopes and wet terrain . I have had mine in some unbelievable situations and it’s never let me down. I am starting to get a few little niggles but overall it’s the best mower I have ever owned . They will cut through just about anything .not the fastest in the world up hills but extremely reliable. I service mine regularly.

I once had a problem like this but that was caused by the fuel tap being closed off. If your mower suddenly stops while you were mowing and it is not petrol, then it could be many causes electrical battery, spark plug etc. the other cause could be one of many safety interlocks it might be useful then to refer to the troubleshooting section in the manual
