Good beer but would be better full strength
My grandfather drank his whole life. I was about 10 years old when my mother said to him, if you ever want to see your grandchildren graduate, you have to stop drinking immediately. Tears welled up in his eyes when he realized what was a stake. He didn't give up immediately he turned to light beer. Three years later i graduated college and my grandfather was there with beer in hand half cut. But he's the first to cheers the beers

Used to be a great beer
Cascade Premium Light used to be great. It had lovely malts perfectly balanced with quality hops, a nice fresh aroma and it held a bit of a head. For a light beer it was excellent and better than most of the mass produced full-strength beers.
It is now a totally different beer. It has mass-produced malt, some vague bitterness that could be from hops, is as flat as a tack with no head and has a soapy bitter finish. The bean counters at SABMiller/Fosters have completely destroyed Australia's most popular light beer.
Given that they managed to destroy VB, once Australia's most popular full-strength brand, in a matter of months, this is probably not surprising.
Bland, cheap, low quality, mass-produced light beer.

Good
Many years ago I remember regularly picking up a slab of Cascade light for a bit over $20, which was an absolute bargain at the time. Times change, and prices rise, but it's still a great beer. It's perhaps a bit more fruity than the Boags equivalent, but is in my opinion a better light beer than the Boags.
The only down side is that the alcohol content is not as light as you might think - not too far off a mid strength - so watch it if you're driving.
Cheap, especially when bought as part of a slab.
Great taste and aroma.
Good head retention.
Not as light as some.
