3 ways work best on gas. 12 volt is only when traveling, once you stop hook it up to the gas

G'day mate have you tried tipping it upside down for a few hours ? Then flip it back over leave it for about a hour plug it back in and try it again? Sometimes they get bubbles and by doing that it helps remove them

G'day mate it will only frost up one end the freezer end, the rest is cooled via spill over effect the cool air from the freezer compartment cools the rest, please note that the freezer end will always be colder then the other so be cautious about how you pack your food products, as for levelling I just put the level on the lid while closed never had a problem they are brilliant units mate.

This may sound like a weird response, but I had this issue once and I was told to empty the unit, unplug it and turn it off (extinguishing pilot light as well) and then turn it over upside down for 10 or 15 minutes. This issue can be caused by bubbles in the ammonia gas that is used to create the cooling effect. Turning it over apparently can dislodge the bubbles and solve the issue. If this doesn't work, I'd then check some camping forums but it may need a "heater element" which is the part that the fridge uses to heat the ammonia and commence the absorption cooling process. This is probably a serviceman repair. Good luck, hope this is of assistance.:)

I have a ache scold RC1180 that runs ok on 240 volt but on gas it's hopeless.
My old one is perfect and has never missed a beat but we decided to purchase a second one (new) and this trip found I needed to run generator to keep it going.
Any suggestions?

you could try taking the burner out and blow it out with compressed air and clean the hot gas flue, try a bottle brush or similar reassemble and give that a go

If you carry or store gas bottles inside your car with you, you need certifying. You get one chance with gas bottles. Don't blow it! Pardon the pun.

Don't wire this type of fridge into your car, get a compressor fridge instead They don't work very efficiently unless they are set up level, read the rest of the reviews here to get the idea

They work fine in 12v in the car. I get it cold on 240v before going away and then use 12v while driving and then gas when I get where I'm going.

12v keeps it cold when used in this way. Mine is in the back of the 4x4 and has been along many thousands of rough steep tracks and mine is still cold when I stop.
