Hi Cuz, I havn't heard of anything untoward with the diesel 300c's. It should prove to be a good car for you but beware that dealer servicing can be a bit rich. I would change the oil and filter every 5000 kms max, at a regular mechanics and maybe get every second service done at the dealers for computer updates/ diagnosis etc. This could save you $500 per year. Enjoy !

Have been told that 80k service(300C CRD ) is in the vicinity of $ 1200 Does this cost seem fair.
we love the car- getting around 8 lt/100km much better than my commodore or diesel ute (11 lt/100km)

You will be best getting an itemised list of what they are servicing and check it against what is required in the service book. I don't recall mine being that much. getting close to the 120 k one now :-)
I can't answer that as I am about to have my 80,000 service soon. $500+ per usual service is what I have had to pay - I think this is the price we pay for modern diesel engines. It sounds a little Exy, but it wouldn't surprise me. Mine is coming up for 5 years old and I would still prefer that it is serviced by a main dealer. They aren't necessarily any better, but they will have access to all the servicing requirements and support.
Hi, the Diesel is apparently more expensive at service time but I think it should cost more like $650-900. Shop around and don't let them add on un-necessary extras, like Injection Blasting which adds $150 and isn't required at all at your 80,000 travelled. Cheers.
