Waste of time and effort
If you've got lots of time to waste on webchat or on the phone with Citibank, then the Qantas Signature Rewards card is the card for you. I have had this card since May (5 months) and only now am I seeing Qantas FF points in my account - but only from the previous two months. I have lost count of the number of times I have had to contact them to find out what is happening. Over and over I have been assured by their customer service staff that my issue has been fixed, only to find out the following month that it hasn't. First the card wasn't lin...Read more
ked to my FF account. Then for some reason, points weren't accumulating. Supposed to be all fixed the following month - it wasn't. Chased them up again. Supposed to be fixed the following month - it wasn't. Finally months later points are finally showing on my statement - but they're not transferring into my FF account. Am told it will be fixed the following month. Am assured that ALL my points since I activated the card in May will transfer across. They don't - only the points from last two months. Contacted them yet again - and am assured again that the issue has been resolved and I just need to wait. So I wait. Still no points. Contact a different staff member. Now I am waiting for the outcome of another Rewards team investigation and someone to contact me. It is absolutely ridiculous and if it wasn't for the fact that I need the points for an upcoming holiday I'd be telling them where they can shove their stupid card. Would not recommend Citibank, it is NOT worth the hassle!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Awful Customer Service
CC process was a joke. Applied for a signature Qantas card, I was instead approved for a different card with an excuse that the amount I was approved for was slightly less than the limit needed for that card. Somewhere is the fine print you apparently give them permission to do this. Customer service is the worst. When I asked to be put through to the complaints department to lodge feedback, I was given the most rude and argumentative manager ever, he was not interested in listening to my feedback only to argue why the bank was in the right.

Adequate card and features but some hidden downsides
I signed up for a Citibank Citi Rewards Signature card a few months ago, based on a reduced annual fee promotion. This made the card worth it relative to the rewards - whereas the full yearly fee (after promotion period) is on the higher side.
Initial sign-up took far too long to hear back, and the verifier asked for a lot more information despite everything requested being provided. They also asked for a lot of personal information without first even verifying who they were and were they were from.
The card itself was fine, accepted as Visa ...Read more
in almost all retailers. The online banking was relatively painless although not the best UI/UX I have encountered in terms of online banking. But issue of statements was reliable and contained sufficient information, and promotion points were correctly applied each month. Fees and rates were all clearly stated and rewards earning points were always clear and correct. The rewards program isn't the best either but the standard range of options of shopping, gift cards, and point transfers was available, including FlyBuys redemption if that is important to you. Redemption or transfer was also relatively pain free. The hidden downside is that they sign you up to so much citibank spam - for products, more lines of credit, etc. I would receive constant texts to open up another line of credit to pay off the statement, and random calls from their telemarketing, asking me to verify all my personal info again without any confirmation of who they even were or why they were calling. After cancelling the card, this didn't even stop. So in summary, an adequate, passable card, with no real negatives in and of itself (besides a slightly high annual fee which only makes it worth it if you get a reduction through sign-up promo) but the aggressive telemarketing and spam takes a star off for me.- Everyday Expenses

Average value - watch out for international fees
Customer service is good. For the annual fee, there are better points earners especially if you are into collecting airline points. Our card only earns 0.5 points per dollar whereas others give you 1 for 1. Security is good as well, and the app is easy to use although not the most technically up to date. Be aware that they will charge you a sizeable % of a purchase if your payment happens to head overseas, for example even though you might pay in AUD from a website with an Australian domain, if the money actually is received by an account overs...Read more
eas, you pay an international transaction fee. Lots of card issuers are doing this, but there are still some that don't which is good. Unless the bonus sign up points are high, then I am sure you can get a better card elsewhere.- Everyday Expenses

Terrible application process, improvements could be made every step of the way
I applied for this card hoping to take advantage of a Qantas bonus points offer.
As part of the application, I submitted all proof of income documents immediately.
I started to receive text messages from Citi (roughly once every 2-3 days) suggesting I still had documents to submit. Each time, I called, and was told several things from Citi CS staff including "We've received everything, there is no action for you to be taken" (twice), and "We are making further inquiries but there is no action for you".
After 3 weeks of limbo, I used the online ...Read more

Good credit card and rewards can be better
I got this credit card with no annual fee and use it for my all my daily expense except when there's a surcharge applied. I don't use it overseas as there's a high transaction fee. The rewards point is no longer redeemable for fee paid on government and council services which is a shame. I got free priority pass and travel insurance which I claimed before with no issue.

Good everyday credit card with only one flaw
I have been a long time credit card customer of Citibank and they upgraded me to Citibank Rewards Signature two years ago. They also offered to make it a fee free card due to my loyalty which was nice. I find this very easy to use and have had no problems. They have a 1800 number to contact them and staff are always very friendly on phone. Rewards points are easy to accumulate and redeem for lots of different items. Also get 2 Priority Passes each year and international travel insurance (which I have had to claim on before.) The only issue I find with the card is purchases made online have steep international conversion fees, so I avoid using it whenever possible for this.

Good card and great rewards program
I haven't used the card overseas but have tried balance transfer before. It is really easy to set up the balance transfer. With this card, I also got free Priority Pass membership that gives me access to two lounges every year. I use this card mainly to accumulate points to transfer it to Kris Flyer / Velocity. I signed up to this card when they have promotion for a free annual fee for life couple years ago. Best card ever, I will keep using this card.

Good everyday card
I use this card daily. It gives quite good rewards with cash back and products. But what I like best is that the Citbank team treat me like a person. I failed to make a payment due to a bank account mix up. They contacted me quickly and then waived the fees as soon as they knew the payment was on its way. The linked Diners Club card has limited acceptance in Australia but is a bonus for overseas use as it gives double reward points at no ongoing cost.

Great rewards program and many other benefits
I signed up for Citibank Platinum during a promotion period where there are no annual fees for the life of the card. Platinum then evolved into the Signature card with the added benefit of 2 free Priority Pass lounge visits per year. The card has many benefits such as loyalty points, product warranty, and travel insurance. Customer service is good. I highly recommend it. Only problem is the hefty forex fees it charges.

My main card, holiday travel insurance, QF points, No annual fee after 2 years
I have held the Signature rewards cards for over 12 years, I don't pay the $395 annual fee since year 2, if you always paid your card on time this is a great card. If you buy your air tickets on this, you get travel insurance for free, I used it a couple of times while I was in Japan and was sick. very helpful. I also racked up lots of points (used to) until they half the points and its now $2 to 1 QF points, but thanks to this card I got 9 return trip overseas for it. The customer services is 10/10. The card used to be blue and has silver words punched into it and always rubbed off, since becoming the new style and the numbers are printed on the back its so much better

The only credit card I've ever had
I have only ever had one credit card and that's with Citibank. 1 year after joining, their shop front dissappeared from Hobart. I managed to work my way up to platinum. Strangely, it dropped back to a signature/pay wave visa!. Without any reasoning. A rewards card, which has dropped its points allocation. Quickly, to add charges for public holiday transfer pymts.
In all honesty, its easier to stay with them than make the change. They are pretty much the same when it comes too on payments.
The overseas call centre has never been able to explaine why I dropped from platinum to signature??????

Hopeless and dont know how to run a ledger of your balance !
I got charged interest on my account that was paid to a $0 balance more than 2 weeks early. There response was:
"A review on your account shows your payment of $198.60 was received on 12 December 2017. Your due date was 29 December 2017.
We recognise your payment was posted before the due date; however, this did not satisfy the full closing balance of $1,197.60.
We understand that there has been a merchant refund of $999 on 09 December 2017. For your reference, refunds/reversals do not count as payments. Therefore, in a situation the accou...Read more

Citibank Rewards Travel Card Pre-existing health conditions
Used this card to purchase overseas holiday and then made application for pre-existing health condition cover. They do over the phone assessment and then give you answer in 60 seconds. If you have anything mildly serious you will probably be rejected by this process. Other credit card services do more thorough assessment and more likely to offer cover. If you want to use a card for travel insurance and have a pre-existing condition, probably best to stay away from the Citibank cards

Quantas Points SCAM
I signed up to this card to accumulate some Qantas miles. I filled in the application with my details, including frequent flyer number. I spent the required amount in the first three months on the card, and got Citibank Points. However, when I tried to transfer these over to Qantas miles, I was told I needed to "enroll" in this before. I told them my frequent flyer membership had been clearly stated on my application form, and to transfer the points over. I've been told this will be done on three separate occasions now, but it never happens. Al...Read more
l I can say is that reeks of a cheap scam by a dishonourable company. I've had points cards with Westpac before, and my partner currently has a good one with ANZ. She has had no problems transferring the advertised amount of points over to her Quantas frequent flyer program. As soon as I resolve this issue I will cancel my card and never apply for or use any Citibank product again. They are a nightmare to deal with, frequently lie, and never deliver on promises.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
The overseas transaction fee killed this card
I used this card for many years and i used to like it till the recent changes of charging transaction fee for payment processed overseas even it is in AUD.
For the transaction in other currency, I can understand and i can avoid by using fee free credit card. But a lot of the AU online shopping sites, you won't know that attach a overseas transaction fee till you see a surprised charge in the statement.
Citibank credit card used to be my default credit card for all transaction. But will not be anymore.

New Fee Grab on transactions made in Australian dollars where merchant/institution is overseas
The latest credit card change from Citibank. From 1 Jan 2017 they will be charging their customers an additional 3.4% where the transaction is made in Australian dollars and the merchant/institution/payment processor is overseas. They even say "It may not always be clear that the merchant or its financial institution/payment processor is located outside Australia" I guess its purchaser beware! Good luck!!
In my case they have got in early and applied this charge for a transaction in October!
The 3.4% charge was previously charged when the...Read more

Terrible experience. Stay away
Applied for a credit card (Signature) and they kept me waiting for 10 days. When I contacted, they asked some more documents. Provided all, including tax return statements in additional to recent payslips.
Each time I contacted, I waited 25-30 minutes on phone, and they have no Australia-based customer service, everything is handled from Philippines. Very poor English, hard to get any question answered.
My income greatly exceed their requirement, I have excellent credit record, no loan, no debt, no liabilities.
Anyway, finally they told m...Read more

Citi Prepaid Gift Card
1) Well they charge you an annual fee to be a member, offer NEW CLIENTS attractive balance transfer offers of 24 months at 0% interest rates but as a client of more than 15 years I approached them for the same benefit and they declined.
2) I decided to redeem my rewards and took $75.00 worth of Citi Prepaid Gift Cards that have a 12 month expiry date:
a) when I tried to use them at my local Coles Supermarket for $75.00 they were declined "DO NOT HONOUR/REFER TO ISSUER".
b) My online enquiry to Citibank was fobbed off and I should contact ...Read more

Editting my review from 5 stars to 1 after Citibank have overhauled the rewards scheme
This used to be one of the few Visa or MasterCards that gives you 1 Qantas point for 1 dollar spent. Now it's capped at 1 point per dollar only to the first $3,000 per statement and then drops sharply to half a point. Jetstar MasterCard or Qantas Credit Union Visa are they better cards now.
