I went to an event a couple of weeks ago in Manly and just want to thank CitySwoon for such a well structured and organised evening, I truly had a fantastic time.
I thought that this was going to be very similar to a dating event I went to with another company when I lived in Melbourne, so was apprehensive at the start (I only moved to Sydney 2 months ago & don't know many people here) but as soon as I arrived and the dating kicked off I realised that CitySwoon was clearly at the forefront of these sorts of events.

more than 30 singles, my age, who were also looking to date and unlike the other dating event I went to in Melbourne everyone gets matched up with the more compatible people there. I don't know what more you could ask for (I was nervous at the start so was talking the hosts ear off, asking him lots of questions about the event and matching). Since the event I've actually been seeing someone I met there (and it's going well, hence my review & gratitude). Thanks again, I couldn't recommend you guys more.

Events ok. Online profiles are complete manipulation
They send 4 profiles per day to view and send messages. No one ever replies there. No one knows if they exist or not. No info. About the last login date. Complete waste of time, every day sending messages to non existing profiles. And also you wont see the cancel subscription button on your profile until you pay for couple of months. Another strategy to rip you off

Badly organised, waste of time and money
I paid for a ticket on Mardi Gras night and there was no reminder that they booked a venue that was completely blocked off due to the parade. I had to walk for an hour to try and get past the street blockages but after being half an hour late I gave up. I complained to the host about the organisation and choice of venue and he got angry and said he had worked hard to organise the night. I felt him arguing with me was bad customer service.
Their events are always a disappointment.

You seem to be blaming us for Mardi Gras getting in your way and making you very late and missing the event. All our communications go out with detailed instructions on how to get to all of our venues. Furthermore, the City of Sydney has a huge campaign notifying millions of people about Mardi Gras and to take extra time on certain journeys within the city. Our host called you as you were late. That is our procedure. You advised you were only a few minutes away. 20 minutes later, you still had not arrived, so the host called again and encouraged you to still try to make it even though you advised that you would be at least 40 minutes late. However, at that point you got upset. I understand your frustration as missing the event, but we don't tolerate rude behavior towards our hosts and would prefer you desist from doing so. City Swoon Crew thanks for a good night
So my first City Swoon dating experience began with much enthusiasm and ended with deflation.I must admire the dedication of the City Swoon staff, and their welcoming and hospitable nature.I found the event easy to navigate for the most part,but if I required assistance staff were more than happy to oblige.However finding a date remotely interested in me seemed almost impossible.Again as is the case with many events of this type the attitude of the clientle derail its ultimate progress.I will be back again,however will not be counting on dates to ensure it is a good night.Plenty of good people at the event to socialise with.This is a big plus.Well done City Swoon keep up the great work.

Haven't found Mr Right yet but hopeful so far
Since I had a negative experience with the first company I tried, I wanted to make sure I left a good one for the company I left them for... Haha I've been having a lot of fun. Been to 2 events so far and my 3rd is this coming Thursday. It's just good to get out there and meet people. I've been to a couple of these and it's actually turning into my favourite way to meet new people. Overall the vibe is fun and relaxed, everyone I've met has been super nice and chilled, and the hosts are pretty friendly and helpful. Worst date night company I have ever used
This company do not provide you with 'matches' they allow paid members whether they are your match or not to contact you, and the same goes for the date nights. All it is is random members paying and then being thrown together. They do not check the identification of the males (or the females) to make sure they are within the age range they say they are.

Unfortunately as that event was rain affected we had a number of people cancel last minute. We've held many events at that venue and with good feedback too. We definitely do age check our participants - before, during and after events and when it has been brought to our attention. Huge waste of money
The description of the event itself is completely misleading. We are told it is $89 for unlimited drinks all night and delicious canapés and then you have time after the speed dating is over to hang out and mingle more. The "delicious canapés" was a cheese and cracker platter. When we asked they said this venue doesn't serve food - not sure why they cant update the description then? one drink after unless you pay. And they only have 2 bartenders, so unless you want to miss your date or have it waiting online at the bar, the only time you can get a drink is during the food break. At least theres not food to eat so you don't have to choose between food or drinks! During the dates we also found out a large amount of men that were there only came because they got last emails and texts with minute deals due to lack of numbers and and figured it would be something to do. Not good value. Wouldn't recommend.
Good. 10 min dates is the perfect duration, not too short and not too long. Venues are spacious. Mobile interface is good, allows for them to have and move more people, but requires Phone and Internet which can be a negative.
Good. A lot of people in attendance at the event, so even if your dates didn't go well, you could converse with other hopefuls.
Bad. Number of dates, 6 is too low for the night, and some girls had to have 'friendly dates' with other females due to lack of numbers. People I spoke to afterwards, agreed it wasn't enough value...Read more

Not worth it at all
Went to a Canberra event recently for $89 and ended by with only 4 dates with Women. The numbers were extremely lopsided. I don't know the exact numbers; but it was something like 6 Women to 12 Men. Cityswoon match you guys calling them "Wing Men". On the night, I got matched to other guys 3 times.
I am not paying such a high amount to meet other guys. I would have much more preferred the night was cancelled (even at a late stage) than show up for this farce of an event.

this one. Also, as we explained to all the guests, including your self, the was a very high number of very late cancellations at this event and it was too late to cancel. Of course, we would never run an event with those numbers, but most people were already there or about to arrive. We believe all the participants, including yourself, were well compensated the next day. Unfortunately, this sometimes happens at events, but it happens very rarely with us.I received no compensation at all, so I'm not sure what you mean by well compensated the next day.

Overpriced! Simple.
What I found at Cityswoon is it's nasty and too much for what you get! There are a couple of other speed dating organisers that charge half the price with double the quality.
If you're after reasonable looks or more in a partner with some sanity venture elsewhere.
It is exploring vulnerabilities in single people and advertises falsely in their pictures, if you think they look like that then you'll be more disappointed!

Well organised and a fun night
I was really nervous about my first time speed dating but the nerves soon passed on entering. Chris greeted me with a warm welcome and all nerves faded. All the guys were friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. It was nice to have the opportunity to engage in conversation with compete strangers in a relaxed environment.

Too expensive, poor quality of men, no variety of drinks on tap.
My first ever Cityswoon date night. The guys were already drunk by 8 pm. I couldn't figure out whether it was the alcohol talking or dating jitters. Phew!. A great way to mingle but poor quality of men and they didn't offer ciders. I had to pay for it. The online matching is even worse. I have responded to so many questions without any replies. Great Relaxed Way to Date
After being to many other speed dating nights I found City Swoon the best way to meet new people. The relaxed atmosphere and venues are on point. The Staff running the event and the app used make it very easy to find your next date. I would recommend this over any other speed dating company due to the fact you get more time with each date and dont feel rush in a straight line.

Met a beautiful girl in a crowed bar as a result on the City Swoon event, we hit it off and there has been no looking back. Shot down to Melbourne for the ballet and proposed during the intermission.

Great fun and well structured
After trying both speed dating and online dating previously, this was a great experience. I was matched with like minded people in a fun and relaxed environment. I met my partner through city swoon and have been with her for 8 months. We are both still amazed that we found each other and are so thankful. Thanks City Swoon

Fun night
This date night event was awesome, the staff are amazing. One in particular staff member is Chris from Sydney!
He is the admin guy and he was so amazing over emails! You will not regret going or if you email Chris, he was so accommodating and went beyond his way for me.

I have been to quite a lot of speed dating over the years . So to sit for 15 minutes on a date is way too long. 8 dates in total . Food was trash and basic drinks the only good thing was the host. Worst set up iv been too no atmosphere full boring I wanted to leave when I got there. These girls were not matched to me and also they need to check if as fact most were older than 49 Total waste of my time and money. There are plenty of better sites than this and half the price. They indicated 15 dates not 8

I went to a video speed dating yesterday night. Two of my female friends already had access to matches but even now 12 hours later I don't despite being promised immediately after.

Thank you for the question. The live video speed dating has been in development for over 6 months. It's highly complex...but, yes, we are rushing it out for our members to connect in a similar fashion, but over a virtual meeting.
BUT, we are also enhancing our online service too. This has not happened yet since we are focusing on video.
