Where can I buy filters in Australia for this unit please

Hi Liz, some months ago I wrote s review on this machine. I have also answered a number of enquiries similar to yours. The short answer is (since I wrote the first review) I have not been able to buy filters anywhere from any source, and I have exhausted every avenue I know including overseas, I was told (from a major retailer) that more than a year ago Breville bought out CLi and shut production down completely with the view to promoting their pwn machine which has no resemblance to the CLi. There are still 5 major retail suppliers who continue to advertise the sale of these machines - they either haven't caught on about the situation or they are dumping these machines as a liability. I have tried every retail supplier in Australia and New Zealand I can find, and even searched Amazon and eBay to find replacement filters. Absolutely no luck at any price. I am on the last filter I could buy (almost a year ago), and when that is unuseable, I will chuck the whole machine. If you have bought a machine recently then you've been had, and it will be useless once the filter becomes. Sorry can't give you any good news.

Thanks Richard for your reply. Yes, I did buy the unit last year from Good Guys and bought extra filters at the time. So disappointing as I really like this machine and in fact have two.
Did you notice on eBay at the moment, there is a Hong Kong seller selling 1 filter for $34 and says it is for the AP20. It does look like the right one. Can you have a look and see if you think it looks right.?
Anyway, thanks for your info
Kind regards
Liz

Hi Liz, Yes, I've had a look, it looks similar but I'm not sure it is the right filter, a waste of time effort and money if it doesn't fit properly - and even if it is, what about the next time you need to replace the filter, especially if you have two machines? I wouldn't bother buying it. If you bought these from the Good Guys only recently I'd go and get your money back - it is not fit for purpose if you can't get replacement filters. If they can't guarantee replacement filters then they have sold a faulty product. Under consumer law, you're entitled to a full refund.

Are CLI-AP20 replacement filter sold or discontinued?

Hi David,
If you check my review the answer is there - Cli-Mate Air Purifiers are STILL being advertised for sale by 6 leading whitegoods outlets, however as I have been informed from a previous stockist, this would have to be old stock (they're trying to deliberately or inadvertently trying to unload). I'm told that that sometime early last year Breville bought out Cli-Mate closed down production altogether with the intention of designing and selling their own brand sometime in the future. Filters for the Cli-Mate 20 are unprocurable from any source I can find (and I've tried so many), as stocks run totally dry. I can find no substitute filters of any kind. At the time I wrote the review, the only place you could get replacement filters was on eBay and as soon as the seller found out they were in total short stock he upped the price from $49 to $99 for the few he had left. I see that he has even fewer now and the price is now more than the machine cost. When the last filter in my machine becomes too clogged to clean, I'll just chuck the whole machine out.

My unit that I bought today seems to turn itself off about 10 min into being switched on. Almost like it looses power, but it hasn’t as it then restarts but I have to switch it on again, any suggestions? Or do I return it?

Does this product need to be on continuously?

1 answer

Yes it does. I keep it on low at night but change it to automatic cycles during the day. It's great for dust so far but will have to see if it helps with my hayfever when pollen count is high next month
