No warranty from CPL, liars! Stay away from CPL!

published

Stay away from this company, because if your item will become faulty they will not replace it straight away, but instead they will send it to their supplier first to verify if its faulty and it will take 1.5 months before you can get a refund or a replacement. So in fact they simply resell product from other companies and have no their own warranty on what they sold. In best case you will wait 2 months before you will get any result.

Dodgy business practice

published

I bought some computer hardware from this shop through its website because of its competitive prices. After two weeks without the hardware being delivered, I emailed this shop and they told me that the product was always out of stock (but they still sold it to me) and they can give me a refund. I asked for a refund. After another 2 weeks without any refund coming through, I called this shop many times about the refund. I eventually got the refund after another 3 weeks. I WOULD AVOID THIS SHOP BECAUSE OF ITS DODGY BUSINESS PRACTICE.

Just skip them and go to Kogan

published

Ordered and paid for a SSD hard drive last night.
Received an email this morning saying the price one the website was wrong and they have refunded my order.
Probably don't bother ordering from this site....
Believe all the negative reviews.
I'll be going to Kogan.

Terrible

published

Purchased a Logitech Universal Remote from here that doesn't work. Contacted Logitech who couldn't help.
ConningPeopleLand don't care that it doesn't work on a TV Logitech list as being compatible with...they consider it a change of mind. No Refunds, I was told to leave. VCAT hearing in November!!

Update: Reply from CPL - Andrew, You brought(sp) it on your accord. We did not recommend you the product, it does what it does.
Update 2: 3 weeks after VCAT awarded in my favour CPL is yet to pay. Next stop is Magistrates' Court. CPL can cover those fees as well.

It's a scam

published

Drove almost an hour to their closest store and shortly after paying in full for my purchase was told to pay about $100 more to receive my purchase because they had forgotten to update the prices on their website. Similar mistake they had done on multiple occasions according to reviews and other customer in the store. The main thing they seemed particularly competent in was finding the loopholes in the law with multiple legal representatives (both police and consumer affairs) both agreeing their practices were wrong but unable to do anything as they had offered a refund.

Never shop here

Extremely bad service and refuse to refund a faulty product. No communication. Worst computer parts distributor I have ever purchased from.

Terrible Communication

published

I bought a custom computer worth about $1200 online and it has been great no problems and was built in about a week. The shopping experience at the physical store is terrible the staff had pretty poor communication skills. Looks like I have been lucky judging by the reviews. Would I buy from them again? probably not

Atrocious horrible rude service.

published

Their website says call up first to check stock availability. I called up at 11.57pm on 14 July 2017. Their operator said 'yes it is available'. I placed the order at 12.02pm on 14 July 2017. A few days later I get an email saying 'stock not available'. The customer service representative, unauthorised, emailed my workplace saying 'You don’t know me but in life you better make more friends than enemies', which I interpreted as a threat. All along I had been using my Hotmail account. Took 6 days of arguing. Refund not yet received. No compensation for my time spent in ordering when, if they had told me 'no stock', I would have gone elsewhere. AVOID.

Regular transactions with CPL and no dramas

published

We do regular purchases with CPL to the tune of $50k plus per year. No major dramas to date. Items generally shipped quickly. Best price almost always.

They delivered what Apple couldn't or wouldn't - a new battery for my Apple Mac Book Pro.

As my lap top was vintage (ie 5 years old) I had to get a quote first that cost $25 and there was a fair bit of follow up on my part to chase the quote over 2 weeks. Once I paid the money which seemed very reasonable the turnaround was just 5 working days. The computer is as good as new. There seem to be some systemic problems within the company which means that staff often take a battering quite unfairly when things are out of stock, or the tracking system isn't working. Steve was one of those who took my call re the quote and he couldn't have been more helpful.

Unethical Practices

published

A kit of RAM chips was returned under Lifetime Guarantee (Corsair). No replacements available so was given a credit note for $250 even though parts cost $289. Tried to claim it was depreciated as they were used.

Consumer affairs contacted and stated that this was in breach of consumer law.

Never trust this company

published

They advertised the item which they don't have in stock and discontinued. I requested a refund of over $2000 and they don't know when it would be done.

Refund processed approx in 10 days, but had to e-mail and ring them multiple times.

WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE TO DATE!!

published

Showed item in stock; but had to import from 'overseas'.

published

I ordered [and paid instantly] for a monitor that showed "in stock". After waiting a week of nothing from them - I make a call. As it turns out, it wasn't in stock, and they needed to source from overseas, they expected it to be sent in a week. That week goes by, then a weekend, then I check the order status and it hadn't changed - 3 days after they said it would have been sent to them.
Another call, and I find out that it's been pushed back 2.5 weeks! Without telling me!

Reading these reviews, I wish I had known earlier - I'm currently trying for a refund. Hopefully I'm not too late.

The WORST company in Australia!!!

published

Whatever you do NEVER EVER buy from these people. Sold me a faulty product, didn't refund until 7 MONTHS after I sent it back, and said they couldn't replace it. I had to THREATEN these people with legal action just to get my damn money back. This can't be legal!!!
