Good off road, but highway performance not so great
I have run these tyres for about 30000kms on my Amarok before removing them and moving them to my off-road camper. The off-road performance on all surfaces is good and they air down well on soft sand. They are very durable and I have only suffered one puncture. However, their on-road performance is not so great. Comparing these to the BFGoodrich KM2 which I now run, the coopers provide a harsher ride, poorer steering feedback and less precise handling (and the KM2s are probably better off-road as well). But the real killer for me was the Cooper's highway tyre noise which has an irritating combination of rumble (like diff noise) and whine which only seems to get worse with age.

Reliable tyres
I've had the tyres for about 12 months now and done over 10,000kms in various conditions. No issues at all. Traction is great on and off the road and the noise level is minimal. Comes with an 80k warranty providing you rotate every 10k which is great. I would definitely re-purchase these.

Great wheels
I purchased these tires 12 months ago and they still seem like new. Durable and comfortable driving in my SUV. Grippy in the wet and have been a lifesaver on one occasion. Would definitely purchase these again as they outlast any other brand I’ve used in the past. Totally like be Cooper types.

Cooper Tyres Superior
I've used most of the major manufacturers off road brands, having lived in the Kimberley and Arnhem Land for the past 8 years driving on 90% gravel, rock, sand and mud, I have found that Cooper STT Pro and ST Maxx to be just a better tyre all round. The Gibb River road is hard on tyres, the evidence is visible for all to see, yet the Coopers that we ran, not once let us down. I will continue to use Coopers Tyres on all of our vehicles, Highly recommended.

The best in the West
on my 4wd I used Maxis after a 4wd adventure and needed new tyres I talked to many of the 4wd friends
and the suggested the Cooper s/t Maxx. I bought 5 and I never look back my greatest regret is that I was not advised by the previous dealer of the superb tyres of Cooper. I live in West Australia and can only say:
Cooper's Tyres are the best in the west.

How good are these tyres
Just had fitted STMaxx (285/65R18) on my Ranger PX2 as replacement of the original HT tyres. Firstly they look fantastic. On road they are a little noiser than what they replaced but they are a far more agressive tyre than the originals and change in noise in the cabin is more than acceptable. I sort of like it. On bitumen in the wet and in greasy conditions they have been faultless. I havent been off road yet which is why I havent given 5 stars. Given the tread I am sure they will go fine. I am wrapt with these tyres.

Great off road.... but a lot of road noise
I purchased a set for my Prado as a direct replacement for the Cooper AT3 that lasted 65000 ( note these weren't the LT tires which should last c 80000 kms)
I'm told that the StMaxx are not great in the wet.... I've not experienced this so far.
Great off road tire... easy through the rough and the mud with loads of grip.... a very chunky and strong tire.
Really noisy as a road tire though.... you get used to it!
With the benefit of hindsight, given that my on road driving far outweighs my off-road driving .... I think a new set of AT3 LT would have served me better.

cooper S/T
I currently have copper S/T's on my 2009 troopy, having done 70,000 km since I bought the vehicle new. I have 6 that I rotate so looks like lasting another 15,000km .Which is when, I'm kind of looking forward to getting a set of S/T Maxx's. I am a builder so the troopy is fully loaded and tows a tandem trailer every second day. Having them serviced ( balanced and rotated) by my O'Neil tires dealer also helps me keep up with coopers latest developments.
They have also given me heaps of advise on tyre pressures for different situations depending on the load I'm carrying and roads I'm on, which I'm sure has helped me get the best wear out of them.
Thank you coopers, for having this tyre available .

Out and back on the S/T Maxx - no issues
My 2007 Toyota Prado came with the standard Goodyear Grandtreck tyres. These were fine on road but let a lot to be desired and gave me around 60,000 km. I weighed up what to try next and went for the Cooper AT tyres. These were a huge step up in road performance and a gave great control and low road noise while being a good achiever off road in the local forests. When the Cooper AT's were due for changing (around 75,000 km of hard work) the Cooper ST Maxx were available. I'm impressed. I'd done about 65,000 km on one set in challenging off road...Read more
use (all dirt, gravel and mud - no beaches or sand). However, due to going out of alignment I'd scalloped two front tyres and didn't need changing 4 only changed the 2. This wasn't long before I did an outback drive on long service leave going from home in country Victoria and up through Mildura - Broken Hill - Tibbooburra - Milparinka - to Birdsville. I didn't take the good highways and was on back tracks of sand, bulldust and gibber rocks. Loaded with my camping gear I still got up Big Red and across the Simpson Desert without issue. I got all range of weather including a heap of rain as I reached Purnie Bore and Dalhousie Springs. It was a wet slippery muddy drive but in control the whole time. Not a single flat tyre and only a few minor cuts from rocks. Tyre pressure, tyre pressure, tyre pressure. If it's one thing I'm a stickler for it's always using the correct tyre pressure. Not stuck anywhere and the minimal even tyre wear I put all down to tyre pressure and sensible driving. The Cooper ST Maxx have got me everywhere I've wanted to go and back home. Only flat was a bloody roofing tek screw in the driveway at home!! I've done over 300,000 in this car and the best of it on Cooper tires.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great tyres. Good warranty.
Hi,
We purchased 10 Cooper ST-Maxx 265 65 17. 5 for the vehicle, 5 for the Off road Caravan. we have so far covered around 40000km on the tyres. No chips or cracks. We have been to Oodnadatta, Birdsville, Flinders, Lawn Hill, Cape York, Chilli Beach, The Kimberley's, Buchanan Hwy, Karijini etc. No punctures. Had a problem with 1 tyre with the bead but it was promptly replaced under warranty in Mt. ISA. Very happy with the tyres and will replace with the same when these are worn.

Cooper tyres brilliant
These are the second set of coopers i have purchased. They look aggressive but without the road noise of a mud tyre. The side wall construction gives me that extra piece of mind when travelling through harsh terrain where tyres ive had before have torn. Highly recommend and well worth the money

Great on my TJ Wrangler
I have two sets of S/T Maxx's in the 31x10.50 R15 LT size. On the highway and around town they are not as noisy as I expected an aggressive tread pattern to be, and they have proven excellent in the wet. My second set used are my originals purchased 4 years ago which I use off road on some pretty harsh rocky tracks. They are durable, certainly puncture resistant and grip well on loose terrain. Both sets demonstrate excellent wear.

S/T Maxx - Great all rounder!
We fitted a set of these on a previous 4x4 and it was like we installed a locker the grip was so good! The wear was fantastic as well. On our new 4x4 we recently removed the factory AT's and replaced them with S/T Maxx's 285/70/17 at the current special price and they still impress, even when heavily loaded up. Using the recommended tyre pressures, they are comfortable, have good grip in dry or wet conditions and sit very stable on the black top at around 34psi. They have shown excellent traction in the small amount of mud we have driven in, th...Read more
ey are flexible over rocks and have really good traction up gnarly and loose surface tracks. They bite in on the sand a bit so low pressures of e.g. <16psi for really soft sand is needed - this may be because of the tough side walls - but that's a good thing to avoid punctures. Don't know about wear yet but the written Warranty is for 80,000km and with the large tread on them I am quietly confident they will outlast. In sum, IMHO they are an absolutely quality aggressive AT tyre that absolutely 'cut the mustard'!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Good grip
Very happy with our purchase of Cooper tyres s/t max . Have been impressed with the grip they offer on all types of road surface's, can't believe how quiet they are on the Bitchumen, very happy with the amount of tread, impressive tyre wall strength and versatile road handling, just spent a few weeks at the far west coast of SA and very happy with my tyres grip on all the different road conditions . Highly recommend cooper tyre to all

Best by far
Bought a Mazda BT-50 new in 2015 and replaced the original tyres with Cooper S/T MAXX. After 60000km, a lot of that towing a 20ft van I cannot fault them for wear or durability and looks like I will get very close to the guaranteed 80000km. Comfort and ride handling on both bitumen and dirt has been good and will definitely be getting a new set when these are done.

Great Product
The original tyres on the vechile were dunlops but i changed to Coopers ( i had heard that Bridgestone were noisy ). The tyres have only done 25,000 kilometers so far, handling has been good with very little road noise, wear seems to be even with plenty of tread left. I dnt know if they`ll last 80,000k? will be interesting to see.

Simply dependable.
These tyres are awesome,I rotate my wheels every 10,000km and my last set lasted 105k, unfortunately I use these for mostly road use because theres simply no time to get away. Wet road grip is faultless and I found the treads spit mud out freely on nasty tracks. These are awesome on gravel tracks and despite the sharp rocks have never had a leak if you adjust the presures to approximatelt 22psi. Buy these and you will never regret it......they look chunky and good too.

Ok, but not in the wet.
I have had the older ST's on a patrol and now have the ST max on a 200 series. Noisy yes, but not as bad as muddies. Noisier than AT's but they are ST's for a reason. Coopers make an AT too. With both old and new ST's I found them very slippery when wet, and a problem with 3 ton of caravan behind. Takes a bit to knock Toyo AT's from top spot in my opinion. These don't quite do it.

Great
265/70 R17 on dual cab ute.
First set did 86,000km, probably 10,000km on dirt - mostly fire trails and unsealed roads through South Australia
Rotated every 10,000km
No punctures or issues, and wore very well, slight increase in noise for standard H/T tyres, to be expected.
Pricey compared to others though.

Hey guys I have got the cooper st/maxx tyres put on my 2018 hilux, I seem to get a lot of vibration in the Ute, through the whole cab, seats and everything, when driving on rougher sealed roads, haven’t taken it off road or on gravel as yet but I’d imagine it would do much the same if not worse, I haven’t taken it back into the shop yet, just thought I’d ask your opinions first! any ideas? thanks in advance

I would be straight back to the shop, it sounds like a balance or alignment issue. Do a good visual check on all tyres to be sure they are identical specifications and there are no tread defects.
I'm assuming all the basics are checked or attended to by the tyre fitter/supplier
Ie Each wheel balanced and alignment all good at time of fitment - and that the vibration has occurred only after the Coopers went on?
Not too sure what your original tyres were but some of the newer HiLuxes we have seen have come standard with a road-bias tyre which run quietly and smoothly on bitumen. The ST Maxx is quite a blocky thing and will run noisy and a bit viby on bitumen, but not to the extent that it intrudes into the cab.
If you can't cover the noise by turning the radio up (hahaha) then it sounds like you have a greater problem than that
If you have access to an old set of tyres (still legal tread but on the way out) swap the Coopers out and see if the vibes stop
Unfortunately, if you do find that the Coopers are the source of the problem you then enter the world of despair that is the Coopers "Warranty Process"
Unless you have a really good supplier - or a lot of time and money to spend pursuing an American Company internationally - then you are pretty much doomed
If you can make it more expensive for Coopers to ignore you than it is to replace the tyres (or refund your money !!!) they may act in your favour
To this point I do not know anyone who has had successful Cooper-factory warranty replacement
The 'Warranty' replacement is usually provided by the local supplier (often at his own expense) so HE doesn't get a bad name for supplying tyres that have failed or have been faulty at time of supply
I do know suppliers who will no longer stock Coopers - in Brisbane,Townsville, Mackay, Rocky, Blackall, Longreach - citing that as one of the reasons
Coopers make more consistent quality TV ads than they do tyres
Good luck
