Bad service in Costco at Auburn
I went to Costco with my friend, after 1h shopping, the cashier refused to let my friend paying for me, cause she uses her Card, and she is not a member?!!! What a stupid reason. After calling her manager, and he trying to explain at same silly reason to me, it doesn't make sense to us at all, and does not make sense to anyone at all. He kept saying that is policy. I asked him show me the policy in paper telling that friend can not pay for a member with their's Visa card? Of cause he can't, but he kept making the mess with me and trying to prot...Read more
ect his silly excuse. 100% unhappy, and that is a bad customer service!!!! Updated: I had a talk with a GM of Costco 2 days later. He was very nice and gentle. I got his apology and compensation... A tip to anyone who experience bad customer service in Costco: pls ask to talk to a higher Manager until you solve your problem...Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

This is an amazing one stop shop. Can’t live without it.
Quality of the products is great. Return policy is excellent. One stop shop for the entire household. Love their home brand- Kirkland products too.

Defiantly a necessity for certain things
First the food is great and most of it is at a great price, considering the larger size most items are much less compared to supermarkets. Then the other items they stock of brand name clothes you can get sometimes at a crazy cheap price considering the brand. Many great items but they do need a bigger variety and more frequent refreshing stocked items.
Overall I find it hard to buy from supermarkets now because of the comparison in price and quantity, however don't be fooled not every item works out cheaper.

Very old lobster tail
Bought a pack of Bahamas lobster tail 30/8/17.
The tails (4pcs) are an individual plastic bag which is abnormal and later we found why.
When washed it the meat actually did not attach with shell. The meat was in light brown color not white as
normal. We cooked 2 pcs and it tasted like gum. I believe the tails were in freezer somewhere for years before
packed by Costco.
Amazing we pay membership fee to get this kind of quality product. I sent emails to complain but just got no
answer at all.

Good value amazing variety
Don't go there to buy a roll of toilet paper. Of course they might not be competitive, they are whole Sellers with a huge variety. It's like looking at an elephant and expecting it to fly. They have amazing variety of food groceries clothing. My suggestion is not to buy stuff you can get cheaper at Aldi or Coles.
I bought some business shirts about 4 years ago. Kirkland brand. Absolute wonder 1000% better than garbage they sell at David Jones and Myer. Still wear them. Amazing quality and fraction of a price
I was a member about 4 years ago and did not renew as I had moved towards Hornsby. Now back in the inner west so will join again.

Great product range
I shop at costco all the time. They have some things that other supermarkets don't have (for eg. famous american brands) plus you have the option to buy in bulk. I've noticed that their prices for some items are actually cheaper too. There's a great selection of fresh produce and meat and their ready-to-go foods are great if you're feeling lazy and don't want to cook dinner :) The yearly membership fee is probably the only thing i don't like about costco.

Was very open, analysis not worth it for grocery but can be good for cloths.
Got membership, I know my prices. Was very surprised as Aldi is overall better value for groceries. I got the free range eggs 18 pack, the worst tasting eggs, that are pseudo free range. Got large jar of sun dried tomatoes with bland near no taste. From what I can see, winners are some 501 jeans, jackets, business shirts etc. Lets face it, its a good thing that many US food products are not in these stores as they have the worst (FDA) backed preservative laden food in the world.
Fo me it was a long drive, I a deal on luggage, their groceries...Read more

The best Super-Market to have ever hit Australian Shores
I cannot believe anyone would rate costco anything less than 5 stars. It definitely by far the best value and best customer service supermarket to hit Australia. I think Australia has a long way to go in terms of customer service and prices at coles and woolies, if they don't pick up their act compared to these overseas giants such as costco and aldi and the likes Australian founded business have absolutely no hope in the future.

Ok but not suitable for small families
ALDI is best for me personally as Costco is more commonly for big families, small businesses and restaurants. More wastage due to bulk buying.

Very rude and poor customer service and broken processes
Will not allow to go inside without membership.
They have moto membership guarantees to cancel anytime.
Got membershipship bought few items then cancel membership straightway and get refund. They had no choice than to refund it. Long story short What kind of stupid company will have these types of crazy rules ?
Woolworth is worth going than going to costco. Very bad service probably staff need to go on training including management. Total waste of time for their company and customer.

Used to come here a lot
I've done the math, savings you receive for buying here don't counteract the membership cost for our family of 3 unless we were to go here way more often. Add to that the annoyance of having to carry a $2 coin to use a trolley, and the huge queues during peak hour and it's a frustrating experience going here.
Also, the cafe food is not worthy of a dogs bowl. I don't care if that hot dog only costs $1, its not fit for human consumption.
Its just not worth the stress, now we just use coles or woolies online and have our shopping delivered. Easy, worry free and convenient.

Know your prices
I joined again in Sydney. I like the US products and things different. Yes if items are on special in Coles or Woollies its no good so you must know you prices. I paid $280 for a Bose speaker at JB hi fi and it was $230 at Costco. I find the lamb cutlets the best ever, hardly any fat like coles, and get the ice cream cookies ( made in US ). Just try.

Bad customer service
$60 for a membership is a joke!!! Everything is much more expensive, the fruit and veg is not fresh, meat is double the price than Coles and the worst part is the customer service is terrible!!!!!

On Track Couriers - preferred courier of Costco sydney
As a former Costco employee I really felt that there was a need for a delivery service. Watching customers trying to get home those large bulky items gave me the concept for myself to provide a reliable professional service for those large items. I have since left Costco and started on track couriers I'm now doing this full time as Costco auburns preferred courier service.

Paper Towel Quality
We have been regular purchasers of the Kirkland Signature Create a Size paper towels for years and on a recent visit did not recognize them due to their "New Look!" Once we started using them we found that the new look represented a huge decline in quality! The paper is now almost see-through despite being "two ply." What has happened Costco?!

Costco membership is trap
I took Costco membership card 2 times in past 4 year and cancelled.
But this time when I try to cancel my membership card managers at Auburn warehouse says “You can’t get refund on your membership fee $60 because in past you was Costco member two times so you can’t get refund”
When I was talking to him just behind him in big capital letter says “COSTCO gives 100% satisfaction guaranty. If not satisfy you can get full refund of membership at anytime”
I asked him what is meaning of that but no answer. He says I can’t give you full refund. The...Read more

Costco is EXPENSIVE, limited selection, total waste of time & money.
Don't bother. I joined for optical; it's not worth it & the lenses are poor quality. The selection is really limited. They are now always out of the pecans & pine nuts they used to stock. Fruit & veg is outrageously expensive with the possible exception of bulk pre washed mixed lettuce.
