Best pricing for tyres
I shopped around for a set of tires in the city and found that Costco had by far the best price on Michelin with their $100.00 off on four tires promo.
Even if this promo wasn’t there, they were still the lowest price. Interestingly when I called back to a few other retailers and told them Costco price, the only reason they gave me was “Costco needs membership”
Even with a $60.00 yearly membership, it’s still worth it.
Angelo and his team at the center did a fantastic job in getting the install completed. Thank you.

Good products poor service
Costco sells good products with low price. That is the selling point of Costco and I have been a member for years. I bought a pair of hearing aids and eye glasses too.
I cannot say how good the hearing aids are because that was my first pair with no comparison. However the professional lady at the hearing centre in Adelaide nearly made me cry in the first hearing aid adjustment. Her tone, eye expressions made me feel dumb and wasting her time. Is she racist? I don’t know. I am not a white australian and she is. She repeatedly said the words ‘...Read more

Inconsistent quality of Yarra Valley slow cooked lamb Shanks
Bought 1 box of Yarra Valley cooked Lamb Shanks (4shanks) - they were fantastic - meat falling off bone in just 30minutes
Bought 3 more boxes this week.
I followed the cooking instructions - cooking from the thawed state in oven.
They were all like "old boot leather" and had cook them for another 3 hours to make them edible.
Just as well I started cooking early otherwise the guests would be having pizza instead!
Not buying them again - and definitely not recommending to anyone.
Costco - for the price charged - these should be 100% quality -100% of the time.
I will be notifying the local store.

Customer service
We do like Costco and have been members since it opened. The customer service has always been excellent....until today.
We were treated to a rude, unhelpful gentleman who was called over to assist us with finding the correct shoe size. Due to a poor product display, it was impossible to access the shoe boxes to find the correct size. He was sooo belligerent that after trying to assist him..we told him not to bother 'helping' and walked away. We have never had this occur before. (Name of employee has been withheld but we did note it.)

Not for me. I'd like my $60_ back.
Just joined today. Don't like the fact you have to pay $60 to join PER YEAR!!!!. I'd like my $60 back!. I'll stick with Aldi's.

chicken sizes
Well I thought it would happen and it has.
Chicken size has reduced by 400 grams.
As I have been away for awhile I noticed the difference straight away. Well that is when I got the chicken home.
Funny as chicken is just getting cheaper everywhere else.
Still great value but size reduction makes me think Costco is feeling quite comfortable.
Lets see what is reduced in size next.
As this was one of the main items I purchase I wonder if I will renew my membership.

The rating for Costco is ridiculous
I stopped counting how many of the 1 star ratings related to the $60 membership. Really, if you don't want to pay then go and shop at IGA. It really distorts the rating when people do silly stuff like that. I'm not sure if it was a promo or not, but my wife and I obtained a "visitors pass" to enter the store to have a chance to look around. We were NOT allowed to make a purchase during this time. After our free tour we had to go to a counter to sign up and pay our $60 membership, IF we chose to do so. Which we did.
There are many products that...Read more

Indonesian Beef Rendang 1L Tub
Spice and Passion should be ashamed of themselves and so should Costco for selling this Curry. Its labeled Indonesian Beef rendang and its nothing more than a bad Indian beef curry in a sloppy sauce.
The people of Minangkabau in west Sumartra where this dish originates would be disgusted. I've eaten rendang
in Malay, Singapore, Java and Sumartra and the words Indonesian and rendang should be removed. It's a plain old Indian beef curry and not even spicey at all.
There is no sign or taste of the coconut cook back at all. The sauce and tough beef leads me to think its cooked once instead of the 4-5 times required to make a rendang taste like a rendang. Change the name or remove it costco!

Good for bulk groceries. Not so honest returns policy
Great value if you don't mind buying groceries in bulk. Petrol is always discounted well below the other main players and it doesn't fluctuate dramatically. Limited electrical range but generally they stock most name brands and they are slightly cheaper. A "lifetime satisfaction guarantee" is promoted. Costco staff used to advise shoppers that you could even return your TV (for a full refund) in 7 years time if you weren't satisfied with the quality. They have happily refunded money for groceries that weren't to our liking, as well as a sho...Read more
wer head that was leaking. However, I recently tested the "satisfaction" and "lifetime" promise by returning a Samsung Gear Fit watch after 2 years. Samsung advertised that they'd release an iPhone app for it, but when they finally released it, it only worked on Android devices. 3 returns staff and 2 managers invented why it was not covered saying it's not a problem with the watch, just the manufacturer of the watch. I was also made to feel foolish because it had been two years. They had also advised me that the watches silver sides had worn off and they don't cover wear and tear. Eventually one manager approved, but let me know I was lucky. When I challenged them to show me Costco's returns policy or T&Cs of the lifetime guarantee they told me to look on the website. I ran through the website with them to show that there were no "wear and tear" or "technology" exceptions. I asked them to update their website and provide a clear list of exceptions. This has not been acted upon yet.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

know comparable pricing elsewhere and you'll save many times your membership
We shop weekly using Coles and Costco. My Daughter purchased a double fridge freezer and saved hundreds and it included a lifetime warrantee. Normally we purchase Diesel and Petrol for our vehicles and save at least $12 per fill for diesel and $8 for petrol. The average would be $18 for diesel for 100 litres/fill. Our food bill that we get from Costco saves us on average $12 per week.
Yesterday we found our present hand held vacuum was on its way out so we replaced it with a new Dyson V6. Costco claimed we were saving $80, however when we chec...Read more

I was verbally abused by staff . What a Disgrace. What ever happened to decency and respect
I will never return, staff member ask to see membership card I said you know me he then started to yell at me,I was yelled and screamed at by staff member his face was bright red and his hand shaking the man had totally lost his cool and his mind, this was also witnessed by my 20yr old daughter and her 21yr old friend other members stood and watched. The next day my husband notified management and they still let him keep his job. I will never return you should at least be treated with respect and common decency when visiting any store . I told ...Read more
management had this occurred in any of there competitors stores they would have been fired, they agreed but he still has his job and I can visit if it makes me feel better when he is not on duty. If a staff member can do that and keep his job then this is not a store in which I will shop. My safety is worth more than the savings . Now what they have done is let the staff see the employee behave this way and keep his job, good luck ever being treated with common decency in any of there stores. The worst part about this situation was not only was I treated poorly by employee, management don`t care either. I did nothing wrong and was treated this way, my daughter and her friend were just as shocked as me . Management said he must have had a bad day. I have never treated anyone at that store or any other poorly . What a Disgrace .Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

only buy the fuel. it is cheap
Costco fuel always saves me $5-15$ per tank every three weeks, depends on the average price in the town.
I rarely shop in Costco, most of products are packaged in bulk loads, couldn't finish them.

Costco Optical
3 Months ago purchased multi-focal lenses for my frames and was super impressed. Today 2 January 2017 decided to purchase frames and identical lenses. Previously I paid $346 for the lenses plus $20 for fitting them to my frames. Today I was quoted at $480 for the identical lenses. That is a 39% increase. Why such a jump? The young lady did say they had a small increase since my purchase. Small is definitely not the case. I was quoted cheaper in two other places and I will consider them over the next few weeks.

Costco featured - 'special order Graber'
Took 8 hours for a call back after ringing 1800472237 line - no consultants available - then '[name removed] rings - 0450 914 420 mobile and said he was too busy and that he could not fit me in on a Friday, or Saturday - he wanted to ring me back but declined. Sorry not acceptable - poor service - don't like costco to be associated with this lazy graber business.

Lecture in membership usage
I have been a Costco member since they opened shop in Adelaide. I used to love Costco and easily spend $300 or more each time I am there. I am now boycotting Costco as they refuse to provide cctv footage of what they are accusing me of doing. In the last two times I have been they will conveniently put a hold on your card and without your permission as though they own your card they will take it away. I have to them walk over to a mini counter and was lectured on the terms of the membership!! I could not see the point of the conversation as I c...Read more
ome from a two person household and they wanted me to know that my card must not be utilized by others. Being a good spender and loyal customer here is what I get in return. A month later this week I went in and because the highly respectable manager who lectured me did not take off the freeze on my membership, I was once again embarrassed! I demanded to know what was the original reason for the freeze, he came up with a stupid reason that my husband may have tried to utilse my card. Omg I never knew that he could look like me. Real double standards! I have witnessed their staff allowing 3 separate payments for three young men on a single membership. I was told that I have no right to access the cctv! I have never heard of being penalized for spending! We the members are their boss! It is not them paying us to spend. Rude and not worth it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Mince
Have been buying my shop mince for over 6 months and was raving how good it was. Last 3 weeks the mince has gone from less the 10% fat to fat oozing out of it when we make burgers. Something has really changed. No longer do I shop there. All other products are great!

Absolute rubbish!!
60 dollars to renew a membership every year when you dont save any money in store in general! Not even aldi Woolworths or Coles make you spend money on a member ship and at least you know your fruit and veg will be fresh The only good thing to come from the place is you can buy in bulk but even then you are still paying the same price as every where else. Customer service is a 0/10 with so many people lined up and only 3 registers open and the fruit and veg was mouldy! I for one will not be returning to such a rip off place. I would Much rather support my local iga than to support a money robbing place like this!

on fuel alone. I purchased a hair-dryer for my wife at about half the price elsewhere. Recently I received an offer on hearing aids. When I purchased my present ones from a specialist, they cost me $1,800 and small change, for each. Costco's offer was for any two identical ones, from the same manufacturer's full range at half that price, so if and when I need to renew them It'll be Costco first for a quote. As for Aldi, their goods are inferior, we purchased some stock cubes that couldn't dissolve in boiling water. Their only advantage is they do heavily discount fresh vegetables and fruit, however, we found that if you compare prices of individual F&V items, most times Costco will not be beaten. Granny Smith Apples are half the price at Costco, best quality bread is also cheaper, unless you don't mind buying day-old stuff from other places.
