Horrible Communication & Totally Incompetent
Policy was easy enough to set up and this was the first and last time we will use CoverMore. The trip was cancelled due to COVID-19 and getting our claim approved was a nightmare.
We ended up doing all of the administration work between CoverMore and Flight Centre because CoverMore don't seem to take records of any emails or phone calls.
In the end, we worked our butt off to try and get our claim sorted and til this date, it is still on-going.
Ridiculous.

Don't bother with Cover-more
Had to cancel our trip due to the COVID-19 as a result cover-more will not refund 100% of the funds even though there is an international travel ban on with the potential to last up to next year. Even though our trip is not until the end of the year they decided to withhold funds from the refund.

Cover-More Profiteering from the COViD-19 at Customer Expense!
Policy purchased Nov 2022 for an upcoming trip to the USA in September! Policy type Premium! Air Canada cancelled flight effective April sighting potential travel restriction which couldn't be verified if they would still be enforced at the time of our planned departure! olicy Cover-More had upsold us the cancel for prior to departure policy to the value of $10,000.00. At no time did Cover More stipulate Pandemic or Epidemic when they sold us this policy in November 2022! Cove-More is now refusing to cover any losses relying on the General Term! What happens if the location decided to allow passage/travel as the region deemed open for travel? This insurance company is clearly profiteering from this event and will clearly increase its revenue throughout FYE20/21 due to not honouring the majority of policies in the market! This claim is supported via this simple example! If CoverMover Sells $1million in policies for travel and set aside $300K for possible claims arising from the Sale they would have $700K for OPEX! Now, let's add the general clause Pandemic / Epidemic exclusion this means the insurance company could set aside (declined) 95% of the claims on the grounds of the general clause meaning they would now have $950K for OPEX. Insurance is a fraud I struggle to understand why I would take-up further policies when companies like Cover-More will clearly benefit from a black swan event at the expenses of the general public. This has been made worse when Cover-More will only refund a proportion of your policy claiming they have provided cover yet they are excluding you from making any claims due to the General Term Pandemic / Epidemic! To rub further salt into the wound if you decide to lodge a claim which is 99% likely to be declined you will no longer be entitled the proportional refund! I challenge anyone who thinks that the insurance companies are not benefiting from everyone missed fortune! What is the real advantage of paying for additional policy outside of medical expenses when travelling on before the time of travel? Why is the ACCC allowing the general public to be defrauded via insurance giant who lobbies the Government YOY for an increase to insurance premium without real justification! I feel ashamed that I've allowed myself to be ripped off and deceived via CoverMore! My action plan Never Use CoverMore and lobby my local minister for regulation change to prevent these fraudulent activities from continuing! Over a month with no refund
Policy purchased on the 8/3/20 and then cancelled via email on the 22/3/20 within 15 working day cooling off period, received an automated response only, follow up email received another automated response “reply in 2 working days” 3 weeks later and still no response, another follow up email, got another automated response message. Please refund my $228 asap, it has been too long already.

Appalling service
We have used Cover-More several times and held them in high regard. The problem this time is the appalling management of the 'contact' system. Sent email... no replies. Decided to ring... waited 100-min and gave up. Tried leaving a message for a call back by phone twice. Both times they did ring back after an hour or two but when I could not answer they leave a message to ask me to call again. So the process started all over again. off I was 80th in line. And the 'expected time' indicator on the chat fluctuates wildly. Of course, the chat means you are sharing the one person with several other customers and you are lucky if you get half a dozen exchanges in every 15-min! Does this company realise how much time they are costing their customers in time? It might be ok if you are retired but this is sheer arrogance to expect working people to make the time to simply contact their insurer. So, without commenting on the insurance side of their business, I say the management of communications is terrible. They need a system whereby you can 'book a call at a certain time'. A little bit of thought and the company would save a lot of frustrated customers. Cannot travel internationally but can't cancel the policy.
I took out a 12 month international business policy in November 2022. After traveling to a few places the pandemic has hit and of course Covermore doesn't cover a pandemic. But as I can no longer travel internationally I want to cancel the remainder of my 12 month policy as it's worthless to me. Covermore claim that as it's been used there's no refund. But if I sell a vehicle my unused motor vehicle insurance is refunded. Covermore are not being fair to policy holders and don't deserve to exist post coronavirus.

Extremely Poor Customer Service
Had to return half way through my trip due to unforeseen circumstances and called to see if it was possible to get a refund for the other half of the trip I'm no longer using the insurance for (it was 4 months, so I paid quite a bit). Frustrated.
Look, I understand everyone’s trying to do the best they can under the circumstances with Covid-19.....but just trying to get a response from Covermore is impossible! We booked our trip way back in October 2022. I’d like to think we’ll be getting some sort of refund on our flights, seeing as we can’t get to our destination....good luck if you’re trying to get through on the phone. I hung up after 1hr 43mins. Poor Form Cover-More
Travel insurance policy purchased for a Turkey trip before pandemic threat came about. I could lodge a claim but she agreed that it would be rejected. Well then, Cover-More you should refund the policy premium in full as the policy is worthless. long time ago - negating the chance of getting a full refund. This has opened a lot of peoples eyes to the less than honourable actions of big companies. When the chips are down and people could really use some compassion and assistance it will not be forthcoming. An unhappy experience ...
Purchased travel insurance in October 2022 for a trip in March 2020, and specifically paid extra for the 'cancellation' section. On the policy, there is absolutely no reason, in Cover-more's view, for a cancellation. And No 18 is epidemic, pandemic. Disappointing that I emailed on 6 April to ask questions - and still waiting for a response. Tried phoning and waited 1 hr 10. So tried the 'Chat' - waited well over an hour for that. Disappointing as I've been using Cover-More for 20 years and have recommended it.

icy. I was asking the question - if any of the 4 sectors of my proposed trip do not give refunds or credits, would I be able to claim on my travel insurance policy? And because refunds or credits are being advised that they are taking 4 -6 months (which in itself is outrageous), how long does the policy last? Cancelled Trip
This my first time my wife and I have used Cover-More travel insurance and we found it was very easy to set up, surprising given my ongoing medical condition. The policy was very good value in the circumstances. However given the COVID crisis we have had to cancel the trip before departure and Cover-More were great at this too, processing a refund for the remaining cover with no arguement.

Lodged a substantial claim during this difficult time (Feb 20). All correspondence and submissions by email, we were kept informed of progress of claim and it was paid in full in April. Thank you CoverMore.

Customer service is so utterly disappointing!!
Due to Covid-19, I no longer needed my insurance policy. After emailing CM on April 1st and an email reply promising a response in 2 day which never came, I emailed them again today, April 21. I also sat in a 'Chat Queue' for over 3 hours, only to be told the 15 day cooling off period had passed which is correct. Surely the cooling off period should no longer apply and a full refund or credit to the same value should apply? They offered a refund but withheld $65? The time taken for CM to respond is what I am most disappointed in. I have always used CM for travel insurance. Doubtful I will again.

Missing in action
I took out a 10 week policy in Oct 19 with $25,000 cancellation cover. My trip was cancelled by my tour operator before any travel bans in place. I have tried to do an online claim and it says my details are not correct (which they are not), I have tried to call and never get through and have emailed twice with no response. I have always used covermore but have not previously had to claim, extremely disappointing service.

Avoid at all costs!
Spent almost a thousand dollars on a 6-month travel insurance policy with CoverMore. Had to return to Australia after just three weeks due to Coronavirus. E-mailed CoverMore from Colombia four weeks ago to ask what my options might be with regard to returning to Australia (ie whether or not this would be covered by my insurance policy - apparently not) but got no response. E-mailed them again two weeks ago after returning to Australia to cancel the remaining five months of my policy. Still no response.

Have Cover-more disappeared
Purchased Policy 720100213823 on 06/03/20. Emailed to cancel policy on 21/03/20 just within the cooling off period and got an automated message. I have since emailed three more times and have not received anything other than the automated email from them. I have used this company for prior travel insurance and not made any claims. Why are they ignoring me as they’ve had nearly four weeks to reply or contact me and are they doing the same to everyone and profiting from our cancelled plans...??

Always the Easiest & The Best
Always use Covermore, never anyone else. So easy, fast and reliable. They are sponsor partner of my AFL team as well so a win win situation for us. Never had to lodge a claim as yet but this will be our fifth time using Covermore.

Do not purchase!
Travel cancelled because of covid-19. Travel insurance apparently doesn't cover pandemics. Now we are offered a partial refund for our travel insurance even though we didn't travel anywhere and we weren't able to lodge a claim for the disgraceful Flight Centre charges for cancellation. Oh that's right, we didn't cancel... Called covermore to discuss and asked for a call back. Haven't received one. Thanks for not covering anything and charging me for a useless policy. Do not use.

Cover-More is an arm of Zurich Australia. Beware of doing any business with them they invent any excuse not to pay. Hi Cynthia! Regrettably, I’m not an insurance policy expert! It would be something you would have to address with an insurance provider or the travel agent you booked with! But I would question what is needed and when you should consider coverage from! Also ask is Cover-more the right insurance agent! I’m personally not getting coverage for my next trip until I’ve boarded a plan and only for unforeseen medical expenses! I no longer trust any insurance provider! My son and partner booked an Asian trip in may and have cancelled through flight centre. They had car insurance with cover more. Flight centre are telling them they will only be refunded once the money is refunded from hotels etc. Does not sound right to me. Can you confirm if a claim was lodged would they just get the allocated amount back directly from you and is flight centre being misleading.

MatthewStewart! To be frank & honest! Flight Centre hasn’t done themselves any justice! Google COViD-19 & Flight Centre complaints and you will see a flood of angry customers! I would bet it’s likely to further add pressure on the company viability I personally wouldn’t want to be a shareholder of Flight Centre! In relation to your refund I would check with the hotel directly as Flight Centre primarily deal with wholesalers they own! Example Infinity Travel is flight centre! So I would question the hotel directly if they have refunded! If yes lobby your local MP and push hard for immediate cash refund!

Good afternoon. My husband and I took out Policy No. 7201 0008 7442 on 30th Jan 2020 with cancellation cover and $250 excess at a cost of $1177.00. This was for a trip to Ethiopia from 22/09/2020 to 14/10/2020. I have contacted our travel agent who advised that Singapore Airlines will only be offering a credit but it’s not clear for how long or if that credit starts from the original trip date. We would be happy to change our Covermore Policy dates to future travel but could not confirm when that could happen. Can you suspend our policy cover until we know when we could travel to Ethiopia or is it better to claim the cost of airfares paid to date ( $2816.00) now from you or the Cancellation Cover paid for of $3000.00.
