Lid fails on Cuisinart models yet again!

published

While the design of the Cuisinart models are good they just can't seem to get their lid hinges durable enough to last more than a year or two. This is the second model of Cuisinart kettle we have owned, we treat our appliances well but the lid hinges are not strong enough to last being opened and closed regularly to fill kettle with water. A basic vital function one would have thought! Will not purchase another as they are way too expensive to keep having lids breaking off! Not a happy customer.

Still going strong after a year.

published

It has been a year since I purchased this kettle. It gets used multiple times throughout the day. I was tossing up between this and the Breville kettle. I ended up choosing this one because of the design. I rotate between drinking green and black teas so an option to choose 80-100 degrees was important.
My only complaint is it gets pretty noisy when boiling, but I think all electric kettles sound noisy. It felt like a premium product when unboxing. It does what is on the package.
As the years roll by, I hope it continues to serve me well.

Nice to find a reliable kettle

published

This kettle is great. We have had it for quite a while. It is used constantly. You can change the temperature that the kettle heats the water to and there is an additional option to set the kettle to keep the water at that temp by reboiling until you need it. These are really handy features and are easily changed or turned off just by pushing a button.
We are very pleased with it.

still great 4 years on...

published

Upgraded to this kettle after a very slow Bodum kettle failed 2 weeks after purchase - 4 years on it is still quick, quiet and shows no wear at all after constant, heavy use.

The only negative is the keep warm function turns on automatically after each use, so if you don't remember to turn it off it will continue to re-boil over and over again to the set temperature of the last use.

Very simple stainless steel design may not turn heads but a good quality kettle.

Dissapointed as the red paint peeled off the kettle it is now silver and red I wouldn't reccomend the red or other painted kettle to any one
I do not use other settings any way I just use 100.I wanted a permanent RED Kettle not a multi stripe one,I will just buy a cheap red one like my son brought before I brought mine and his has not peeled.

Great Kettle, no issues so far

published

I have used this kettle now for more than 4 months and so far it's been really great. Aesthetically (and this always a bit subjective) it looks modern but simple, not wide so doesn't take too much space visually (I've got a small kitchen). Has 6 different temperatures from 75 to 100 degrees that you can set depending on the tea you drink. I mostly drink green (80) and black (100) so alternate between the two. I don't really use the keep warm function as one cup is usually enough. If you're being picky the beeping noise on boiling completion should be adjustable but not really an issue. So far it's been great, hopefully it last for sometime as with kettles that's where most of the star ratings should go.

excellent kettle

I've had my kettle for 5yrs without any problems, works well, keeps water warm and automatically shuts off if unattend.... only one minor problem the temperature numbers on the handle wore off too quickly to where I'm guessing the temp., overall awsome kettle.. if I had to purchase another kettle I would get another cuisinart.

Where's my cheap $20 Kambrook Kettle??

published

My Sister in Law had one of these and really liked it and when my old kettle died I brought one of these. 4 months later I brought a cheap Kambrook to replace it. It was an OK kettle - all of the fancy temp buttons but we really only used the full 100% button. What really frustrated me was if I filled it a little above the max line - it would leak hot water all over my bench. My old kettle I could fill to the brim - it take longer to boil but when you have 3 babies having bottles and lots of cups of tea you want as much water boiled at a time and I found I was filling up the Cuisinart so much more than my cheapie kettle. It will go back in the box for a spare but don't really recommend it if you need lots of hot water throughout the day.

Cuisinart Stands behind their awesome product!

published

This is my second review on this programmable kettle. I actually wrote in my last review that this kettle was very durable but we wore out the programmable button labels. So I wrote to customer service with my proof of purchase and they sent out a new kettle to replace our still working but with worn off button kettle.

We love this kettle and use it daily! Now we have a brand new one with similar buttons and are sending the old one back. Cuisinart has awesome customer service and products!

junk

we bought our first one about 3 1/2 years ago, first of the writing on the buttons wore of, then the lid gave up,then 12 days befor it's warranty expired it blew the circuit breaker on the house, and it died. to cuisinart's credit they replaced it under warranty .the replacements lid broke in about 2 weeks, then today the 25/3/16 while not in use but pluged in it caught fire, it was just pure luck my daughter was home and threw it out side,or we might be without a home, she only found it because the burning plastic smell was teriable,my advice is when not in use turn it off at the wall. a cheapy from now on after all it only has to boil water.

Make perfect tea.

published

Recently purchased a Cuisinart Perfectemp cordless kettle and it's wonderful. I always use cordless electric kettles as they are so convenient. The difference between a regular cordless kettle and this one is the programmable features, such as temperature control and the very cool, 'keep warm' button. With temperature control, you can make herbal and green teas without scolding their delicate flavour but it's the keep warm feature I truly love. When you are having multiple hot drinks, you simply push the keep warm button and it does exactly that, keeps the water at a set temperature for 30 minutes ! It's also an attractive stylish looking kettle. All round good addition to the kitchen.

4 Years Later Still Perfect

published

Haven't had any of the issues experienced on here. No faults with manufacturing or temperatures rubbing off. We use the kettle multiple times daily and it still looks and functions perfectly. 4 years and it has been with us through a few moves. Definitely can't complain. Nearly went with brevill but read reviews which made me decide on this one. Perfect for tea drinkers!!

Great kettle - Just what I expected

published

Only had for about a month, so no problems yet. Boils very quickly and quietly compared to our old kettle! Love the idea of being able to select different temps when required. I can't stand tea too hot and usually add cold water to my mug or wait a while to drink - so this is perfect! Great design too, easy to use and looks good in my kitchen. I always read heaps of reviews to make an informed decision, so hopefully my review will help someone too!

Best Kettle For The Best Price

published

Love it. Looks stylish, quick to heat and does so quietly. No jet engines in my kitchen. The beep is a discreet sound and the lid well fitting and soft close. Love the variable temperature controls. This kettle is great to handle with a good balance that does not overwhelm my hand/wrist when full and I am pouring and it does not leak. Very good value for money.

There was a review here where the poster stated their electric hot water kettle caught on fire and the plastic melted so I would dare say the kettle has plastic somewhere

This is an Australian website so I would dare think this electric hot water kettle is available here in australia however, there's more bad reviews than good reviews so I would recommend don't bother with this dangerous described electric hot water kettle

Yes. It's normally off. You have to deliberately switch it on.
