Functions as described, except it has an inconsistent rattle. Even after two "repairs".
It heats and cools as described. But unfortunately within a few months it developed a rattling sound. This sound is inconsistent, meaning some times it occurs and other times it doesn't. The rattling isn't ridiculously loud, but certainly loud enough to hear when the unit is running during the night.
We have had the unit repaired twice, both times being told that "this is a common fault" and the fix should rectify the issue. Unfortunately it has not.
Paid a premium of over $200 for what we thought was the best build quality compared to other brands, regret the decision.
Purchased in January 2021 at Cold Flow for $2,300.00.

Be careful of false advertising
Daikin has advertised this previously (before my purchase) as having a photocatalytic filtration system -I could not find this filtration system, and Daikin refused to confirm if they actually had it. This matter has been forwarded to the relevant authorities. Works well however, will emit a bad smell if left on auto fan mode. Quiet operation, given the filtration system I would opt for the panasonic or LG as in my Opinion they have a better filtration system.

Widespread noise fault with hideous after sales service
5 months ago had this unit installed in my 2 year old bedroom: 3 months after installation the unit developed a clicking noise. Installers advised issue with motor and needed to call Daikin for warranty service. When calling Daikin twice I've been on hold 20 minutes, the first time to be told to fill in a form, scan it in and email back to log a service request. I then had to call a couple of days later (another 20min wait) to see where my request was. I was told I needed to wait 4 business days for a Service Request number, strangely I ha...Read more
d a service number emailed to me 30min after the call. As of this report, this service ticket has been in the system for a week and still no response from Daikin until I followed up with a call. The noise is getting louder and now my little one can't sleep when it's on. Whatever you do, do not buy one of these split system units. You pay a premium for budget after sales service and the worst performing aircon unit I've ever installed.Purchased in October 2021.

Very efficient reverse cycle heat pump
It lives up to its 5 star energy rating. Very energy efficient - very important these days when electricity charges are high.
Super quiet.
I have two more Daikins in my house and they too have served me very well over 10 years. This is also one of the reasons for choosing this one.
Also the installation was performed very professionally.

So t know how I got by before this!
We recent got a ftxm25 in our bedroom for this hot Melbourne summer and I don’t know how I ever slept before it! It cools the room down so fast and so so quiet that we are able to sleep with it running and with the timer it can turn itself off. Had installed by coldflow and they we’re exceptional!

Super quiet
So quiet we sometimes forget to turn it off when leaving the room. The timer functions actually work, unlike another make we have, and the powerful function is very useful for quickly cooling the room without having to remember to turn it back down. Compact units that look unobtrusive on the walls.

Very good and versatile air conditioning unit
I bought two Daikin Cora AC 2.5 kWh for my master bedroom and the 3.5 kWh for the living room.
What I like is the colour of the indoor AC unit is blending perfectly with my newly painted apartment interiors.
The main reason why I go with Daikin is the external AC condenser unit is very small but effective, thus saving space on my small balcony.
The remote control is illuminated with light blue backlit which is a plus compared to the other brand.
I also like the "human" sensor where it can start and stop the operations of the unit intelligen...Read more

It is great and saves energy
It is very quiet and cools the house very fast. The energy use is very minimal which is a great factor. However, the size of the airconditioner is very large. The controls are occasionally not particularly sensitive. The wind that is blown out is quite cold and ideal for summer.

It is fantastic! Couldn't sleep on those hot nights till this was installed.
This Daikin air conditioner is so quiet and efficient. It makes far less noise than an overhead fan. It has made a huge difference to my comfort on hot summer nights. Should have got one sooner!

Nice quiet Little Unit
We got this small unit installed a bit late in this summer of 2017 ie the heatwaves have passed already but should be good for winter time due to high COP (Coefficient of Performance) to have good heating economy and provision for the next year hot days. I got it installed in one bedroom which is more than sufficient. BTW the bed room door can be open to provide some air flow to the living area if desired. The installer mentioned that a more powerful unit will be (sort of) on/off too often so he recommended this small unit (The next 3.5kW un...Read more
it will cost just~ $200 more, my estimate is 35% of the cost in in the installation work) . This unit (Daikin FTXM25QVMA) is an inverter split system so it has inside & outdoor units (and supposedly variable frequency with the inverter). * GENERAL OPERATION So far it is fairy quiet in its operation - all depend on your preferred fan setting or Econo/Outdoor Unit Quiet setting (a button on the remote to set this). I did not pick the option to have smart phone app since the remote should be good enough. This unit has the usual operation eg swing of vanes, temperature up/down etc as well as "intelligent eye" which is just a sensor to detect the occupant to allow direct or indirect blowing to the occupant. * INSTALLATION It took all up about 4.5 hours to install. Since this is small unit, it share power from an existing power point (hardwired). The unit has an option to avoid stripping if the same power point is used by other unit within the room. The installer connected everything (eg hole on the wall, piping for refrigerant & for condensate drainage, bracket for indoor/outdoor unit and the units themselves) -took about 4hr- before electrical connection (10 mins). Note that the main power switch is outside, next to the outdoor unit (always on unless want to turn off if not used for an extended period). The user only use remote to turn on//off etc from inside the room. * EASE OF USE For the basic operation it is very simple to use without reading the manual (eg on/off, temperature, fan, swing mode, just look at the symbols). For more sophistication, the operation manual should be read, eg timer setting, programming for day/weekly on/off etc). The auto temperature setting range= 18 to 30C.Similar opinion? Excellent and efficient air conditioner
I installed this small unit into a bedroom that faces west. It's a large bedroom and the unit has no trouble bringing the temperature down quickly.
It is extremely efficient using only about 100-150W of power to maintain the temperature overnight. Great for those nights where it stays hot and or humid making it difficult to sleep.
The night mode is very quiet and efficient. Remote is way to use and I am just awaiting installation of the wifi module (on backorder)

Trish here, My fault - I changed from auto because it wasn’t heating (they said it does that when it gets to allocated temperature which was 24 degrees), to manual. I accidentally set it to cooling. Fortunately two technicians came out and sorted me out before weekend, today is Friday.
