Excellent choice
Heats up very quickly. It blast the air all around the corridor from the dining room through the loung into 2 bedrooms and back to the kitchen. Brilliant. I have it running all day and very quiet. I preset it half an hour before I get up and it's warmed up over half the house. I have the 5KW unit in the other half. Daikin has come down to a price compared to the other brands. Hopefully the reliability hasn't changed.

Silent but powerful
This is a very quiet unit, both inside and out, i lover the power boost function which will quickly cool down or heat up a room, i bought both a 2kw for the bedroom and a 3.5kw for the lounge and they work magnificently, the installation process was very quick and professional and the units sit unobtrusively on the walls and have some very advance features such as preventing direct blowing on people in the room, very impressed

What a dissapointment
Happy with the heating ability. So dissapointed with a constant rapid ticking sound. The sound is there as soon as the unit it switched on and does not increase or decrease with fan speed; it is just there permanently. It is so annoying. I did meticulous research and chose Daikin for their supposed quality quietness was the main factor I was looking for. I have 2 Daikins in my workplace and 1 at my previous residence; all quite. This is a dud. The company I bought the unit from has sent their technician out and replaced bearing and other stuff and it is still ticking away. Not sure what the next step is but I am so dissapointed right now. Go with a Fujitsu rather.

Would not buy again!
This unit is noisy. It's a noise beyond the fan, a fluttering sound that varies depending on the load the unit is under. On colder nights you can hear the whiny fluttering in the next room, over the TV and the normal fan sound. I called the installer back after two or three days and he said yeah they all make that noise. So it's not just me. I've called them again (it seems to be a winter thing). It's not fan cavitation (like they are suggesting) because if it was it'd do it any season. Anyway the installer is doing everything to stay away, So I suggest you do the same.
BTW visitors have noticed the noise.
Update. The unit is now gone and a Fujitsu reverse cycle ducted system put in. Yes, more expensive but next to no noise.

WAS A LOVER OF DAIKIN BUT SO DISAPPOINTED IN THIS NEW CORA MODEL
I had a Daikin in my previous home so no hesitation when it came to install another split system when I moved. Well I got that wrong. My installer recommended the new Cora FTXM50QVMA explaining how economical it was to run. I mainly wanted it for heating my family room as I already have an evaporative cooling system and as I don't always want to heat the whole house with my gas central heating I thought this unit would suit both my heating & cooling requirements.
When it was first installed it seemed to be fine but after a short time o...Read more
f using it for heating it became very apparent that it was not heating the room the way my previous model did. Yes it heated up fairly quickly and made the room cosy and pleasant to be in but then it would start blowing cold air and then you start to feel cold like you were sitting in a draft it would sometimes just stay this way until I turned it off or changed settings to try and get it to start heating again. Reported this issue to my installer so he was happy to order new pc boards for both the outside and inside unit as well as replace the wifi adaptor. Ok, many weeks later after waiting for the new parts for my brand new system here I am again. I'm still sitting in a room that gets warm then cold. I am struggling to keep one room warm and most times just turn it off and have had to go back to using the gas heating or my electric panel heater which is great and warms the room and keeps it warm. I am ever so sorry I bought this new model. I haven't gone back to my installer as yet (for the 2nd time) but am about to. I am frustrated and feel so disappointed that this Daikin product that I had previously recommended to many of my friends has so let me down. They say it is an improvement on the previous model as it is so much cheaper to run. Yeah sure it is, that's because it does not do what it is meant to do HEAT! I am still not sure if I have a faulty unit or if this is just the way it is.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very good and versatile air conditioning unit
I bought two Daikin Cora AC 2.5 kWh for my master bedroom and the 3.5 kWh for the living room.
What I like is the colour of the indoor AC unit is blending perfectly with my newly painted apartment interiors.
The main reason why I go with Daikin is the external AC condenser unit is very small but effective, thus saving space on my small balcony.
The remote control is illuminated with light blue backlit which is a plus compared to the other brand.
I also like the "human" sensor where it can start and stop the operations of the unit intelligen...Read more

Super Quiet
We are so happy with this air conditioner, it doesn't take long to warm up the room and is so quiet. The installation only took a few hours. It is so easy to use and you can set the temperature in half degree increments. We have had Daikin before and have never had a problem with them, I would definitely go Daikin.

It is great and saves energy
It is very quiet and cools the house very fast. The energy use is very minimal which is a great factor. However, the size of the airconditioner is very large. The controls are occasionally not particularly sensitive. The wind that is blown out is quite cold and ideal for summer.

Good power but a little noisier than the old Panasonic
The old Panasonic was a little too small for the rooms it had to heat and cool but in the right size room it works well.
So the bigger Dakin was chosen to replace it. My house is all electric and about 14 squares with the Dakin heating the Lounge, dinning and the kitchen. It does this OK although the kitchen is not as warm as the lounge. I think if the insulation in the ceiling was better this would help. The unit is OK for power and reasonably quiet. So far reliable.. I did have problems with the installer moving the old Panasonic which are still not resolved.

Ideal Airconditioning Unit for our Living Space
With extreme hot weather experienced in Sydney during February and rising gas prices anticipated for the coming winter, and with a 5kwh solar panel system already installed, a decision to move to purchase a split air conditioning system was a 'no brainer'. The 6kwh unit we acquired has proved totally adequate for our needs. The Daikin unit is very quiet and easy to use. The quotation and Installation processes by Eagle Airconditioning was handled with a high degree of workmanship and we were very pleased with the service provided by the installer.

Big and powerful
Had to replace our 12 year old unit and upgraded to a larger unit. The difference between 7.1 and 8.5 kw is noticable. The internal and external units are substantially larger in size, but the power to cool is well worth the upgrade. The design of the interior unit is sleak and unobtrusive. Both indoor and outdoor units are extremely quiet and power consumption is comparable to the smaller unit. Very happy that we went with another Daikin.

Daikin lives up to its reputation
This product is quiet, efficient and has saved me a lot of money on previous gas heating. Prior positive experiences with Daikin air conditioning led me straight to this split system. No regrets in installing it.

It is fantastic! Couldn't sleep on those hot nights till this was installed.
This Daikin air conditioner is so quiet and efficient. It makes far less noise than an overhead fan. It has made a huge difference to my comfort on hot summer nights. Should have got one sooner!

Nice quiet Little Unit
We got this small unit installed a bit late in this summer of 2017 ie the heatwaves have passed already but should be good for winter time due to high COP (Coefficient of Performance) to have good heating economy and provision for the next year hot days. I got it installed in one bedroom which is more than sufficient. BTW the bed room door can be open to provide some air flow to the living area if desired. The installer mentioned that a more powerful unit will be (sort of) on/off too often so he recommended this small unit (The next 3.5kW un...Read more
it will cost just~ $200 more, my estimate is 35% of the cost in in the installation work) . This unit (Daikin FTXM25QVMA) is an inverter split system so it has inside & outdoor units (and supposedly variable frequency with the inverter). * GENERAL OPERATION So far it is fairy quiet in its operation - all depend on your preferred fan setting or Econo/Outdoor Unit Quiet setting (a button on the remote to set this). I did not pick the option to have smart phone app since the remote should be good enough. This unit has the usual operation eg swing of vanes, temperature up/down etc as well as "intelligent eye" which is just a sensor to detect the occupant to allow direct or indirect blowing to the occupant. * INSTALLATION It took all up about 4.5 hours to install. Since this is small unit, it share power from an existing power point (hardwired). The unit has an option to avoid stripping if the same power point is used by other unit within the room. The installer connected everything (eg hole on the wall, piping for refrigerant & for condensate drainage, bracket for indoor/outdoor unit and the units themselves) -took about 4hr- before electrical connection (10 mins). Note that the main power switch is outside, next to the outdoor unit (always on unless want to turn off if not used for an extended period). The user only use remote to turn on//off etc from inside the room. * EASE OF USE For the basic operation it is very simple to use without reading the manual (eg on/off, temperature, fan, swing mode, just look at the symbols). For more sophistication, the operation manual should be read, eg timer setting, programming for day/weekly on/off etc). The auto temperature setting range= 18 to 30C.Similar opinion? Excellent and efficient air conditioner
I installed this small unit into a bedroom that faces west. It's a large bedroom and the unit has no trouble bringing the temperature down quickly.
It is extremely efficient using only about 100-150W of power to maintain the temperature overnight. Great for those nights where it stays hot and or humid making it difficult to sleep.
The night mode is very quiet and efficient. Remote is way to use and I am just awaiting installation of the wifi module (on backorder)

Performance exceeds expectations
Daikin makes an exceptionally quiet but efficient unit. We already had one in our bedroom, so we considered this when looking for a replacement unit for our living area.
The salesperson made a good recommendation of the Cora unit for this large living, kitchen and dining room area.
The white internal unit looks relatively unobstrusive mounted above white french doors on the wall in this area.
Controls are very easy to use. Easy to change fan settings, heat/cool settings, angle of air and circulation.
Installation replacing old unit was also fuss free, no mess left behind by Crispair installers.
After a couple of months of use in hot weather, we are very pleased with our purchase of a quality product.

Time to climate change the old air con
Installed this Daikin in bedroom before the very hot weather began. It's now February and the new machine is just purring along. It is quiet, has a number of useful functions like turning off if noone is in the room for 20 minutes, if you choose to activate it. Best of all for me, we fitted a deflector to the compressor to blow the air at a 45 degree angle up the neighbouring wall, which is very close to the compressor. The previous machine would stop cooling when the temp got too high because the warm air from the compressor was trapped be...Read more
tween our houses - inner city terrace. Happened on very hot, still days. This occurs because when the gas in the air con becomes too hot, it just stops cooling and just pumps air. Mind you, the old machine was 10yo and the technicians assured us that the newer machines were just better anyway. The deflector on the Daikin (optional and a few dollars more) seems to have solved that problem.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Faulty product - 1 star rating for Daikin response
Bought this product for our bedroom in January 2016. I was pregnant and needed to control our bedroom temperature at night in summer, then we wanted to use it for the same reason with our new baby in the room over winter.
It started making a rattling noise within a month or so, which became louder and consistent enough to disturb our sleep. We reported to place of purchase in April. They sent someone to look at it and then replaced some parts in May. The noise resumed within a few weeks but we didn't report it again until July. It is now Octo...Read more
