False advertising - dehumidification hardly works
We bought this particular unit because we needed an air conditioner that also functions as a dehumidifier. The advertising and product info was big on its "powerful dehumidification" function. Sadly that is a big lie. It just doesn't dehumidify at all on the "dry" setting. When I complained to Daikin I was told to only run it on "Dry Cooling". This sometimes works depending on the outside temperature. Mostly even this setting doesn't work. Also, much of the time we don't want to run the cooling function, just the dehumidifying function. We were...Read more
sold this expensive unit on the basis of false advertising. Don't pay the premium if you are doing so for its dehumidifying function. In addition the instructions around the dehumidifying function are so confusing that not even the support desk can tell me the best setting (hi, low, continuous, std).Purchased in July 2021 at Ben Rafferty Air and Electrical.

Bought two, loved them then bought two more.
I started with two units, one in my lounge / dining area (3.5kW model) and one in the my office (2.5kW model) and then I bought two more because I was most impressed. The one in the lounge /dining kitchen area does the most work, it's basically heating half our house even with the other 3 units. It's worked tirelessly. The auto cleaning dust filters have stayed spick and span (I check them every so often) The fresh air is great when we cook an indian curry or other smelly food. The humidifier is tops in winter when it hasn't been raining but...Read more
it's cold. The info button lets us see how many kWh we've consumed, what the temperature is and what the humidity is. If the humidity is dipping below 50% then we turn the humidifier up. It may take a while but it eventually gets there. I know why this is the unit recommended for asthma sufferers, it's because the feel of the heat with the humidifier on is just so good. I recommend you do what we've done and get off gas, get yourself Some Daikin US7, A Sanden Hot water heat pump (or cheaper Istore if you're budget conscious) some Methven Showerheads and a really big solar system. And you can be free of gas and have very very low utility bills (They pay me all year round except for a couple of months of winter)
Purchased at Pure Electric for $2,690.00.

Love my Urura Sarara especially humidity control
I bought 5 Daikin US7 from Pure Electric in 2014 Humidity control is the best thing about it. My energy usage has dramatically dropped and we are comfortable all year.
Purchased in March 2021.

Average. Fresh air feature useless and noisy.
This is a complicated and expensive air conditioner with lots of features. I bought it especially because of its fresh air feature as I'm working in a music studio and I wanted fresh air as well as air conditioned air. The US7 is about double the price of other split system air conditioners and it claims that it can do this feature, but it is rubbish. Fresh air intake is either a bit loud, or unbelievably loud on the two settings. There is no noticeable breeze of fresh air though, just a loud sound. The 'high' fresh air setting is useless to me...Read more
because I'm in a music studio and I need low noise levels, a huge consideration of why i bought it. General air conditioning. I've tried every setting, and either i freeze my butt off or the machine does nothing in a standby mode and the room gets stuffy as it thinks it's at the right temperature. For a simple space, something well ventilated naturally, it's probably fine, but for such a job i'd buy a much cheaper air conditioner, and I have in my house, and they are great.Purchased in August 2021 for $1,955.00.

Good product let down by warranty
We had this installed at the end of last year, together with a 2,5KW unit. Everything was great. Just last week, when I tried to use the controller, it would not work. I thought we needed new batteries, and opened it up to find the batteries had leaked. These batteries were supplied with the units, and put in by the installer who demonstrated the units working.
So I cleaned up the battery compartment, put in new batteries - and the controller does not work.
The installer says it is a manufacturing defect .. and I agree as the batteries were ...Read more
supplied with the unit. But Daikin says the warranty does not cover consumables, and therefore not the controller! I am not asking for battery replacement, but a fix to the controller damaged by the batteries they supplied. Daikin do not think they are responsible. So - beware. I bought it assuming the system was covered, as long as I was not negligent.Purchased in November 2021 at Teknicool for $6,930.00.

Very efficient heating, haven't used to cool yet
I installed the 3.5 kW Daikin US7 as a combined heater and cooler for my new living areas, because of its environmental credentials. I've only used it over the winter, so can only comment on its heating efficiency so far, but have found it to be extremely rapid to heat up a room, reasonably quiet in its operation, and definitely cheaper to run than my old ducted gas system. I like the "comfort" setting, so that for heating, the vents point downwards and don't create too much of a breeze, and when cooling, they oscillate, to help cool further. ...Read more
I had hoped that it might be powerful enough to heat not only the room it's installed in, but also the adjoining rooms, that are connected through a double archway, but unfortunately this hasn't been the case. This might be because there's not enough airflow through this space, even when I use the boost mode, but this is the only reason I've why I've rated it four rather than five stars.Similar opinion? Amazingly efficient, reliable, quiet.
As of writing we've had the smallest FTXZ25N unit installed in our main living area (approx. 50 m2) for 3 years (since May 2015) to heat and cool. It's possible to check the overall total energy kWh used on the remote and it currently reads 1,585 kWh which equates to around $380 for 3 years at $0.24 / kWh.
We aren't connected to gas and this is our only form of heating and cooling in the living area. Upfront cost is more expensive but well worth it. :)

Fabulous machine
Agonised over this Daikin US7 2.5kW version for many months, but very pleased we went ahead with buying multiple units for different areas of the house. Pros: very fast to reach set temperature; relatively quiet to operate (both indoor and outdoor units); uses hardly any power (as claimed). Cons: expensive upfront cost; chunky internal unit; still haven’t figured out how to run with just ventilation only with filtered air from outside (not cooling/heating). Less enthralled about the medium sized 3.5kw unit used in larger rooms (uses a lot more power). Supplied & installed by Eastwood Air and would generally recommend them.

Could not be better
I now have six of these units installed in my country Victoria home (Living areas x 2, bedrooms x 4). I replaced three older units and was so happy with them that I added three more.
They have kept the place warm and cool now for 3 summers and winters without any problems. They are very quiet and very powerful. The dry cooling and moist heating are just the best.
Power consumption is SO low, I can leave one on all night in the bedroom and it will only have used 1-2Kwh (each unit has a built in power meter so you can see what has been used...Read more
). The fact that the unit brings in fresh air prevents the room air becoming stale, and combined with the built in ioniser means the room air is always fresh. I am now adding Wifi to all of them ($165 per unit), so I should then have central and remote control of the heating and cooling in the whole house.Similar opinion? Saving me
This air conditioner is saving me in the summer months. I can actually get a good sleep now that the house isn't hot at night when I go to bed. It cools down the place very quickly. The only down side is that I can't seem to get a good setting for when the house is already cool and I just want some circulation.

Cool
I love our Daikin ac and we have two. One in a bedroom and one in the main living area. Only had ducted before the split system and the Daikin is so efficient and in 40 degree Adelaide heat we stay nice and cool. Quite quiet - can watch TV and have conversation easily. Doesn't run up a huge power bill even though we use it a lot. Very happy.

7 star efficient
Its in a kitchen, dining lounge room 7x7m, replacement for raging 7.5kW. Although it's only 2.5kW, for quick response, it can overdrive itself to 7.5kW for 20minutes. With the 7.5kW, older and less efficient that we replaced, measuring day by day for full year, even though it was less efficient, it only used 10kWh for a full day, for a pair of seniors, mostly home all day, every day.

Looks good
Great for our small room
This unit heats and cools a large area without any issues, it make a noise but nothing to complain about.
I like the powerful button the heats or cools things fast then when it gets to temperature the unit will slow down. The unit is very easy to use and came with a seven year warranty.

Amazing technology and performace
This is my first air conditioner and I am sure I chose well on this unit. It didn't get used much this summer in Geelong as we only had about ten days over 35 degrees. I cannot imagine any unit being quieter than this one. The outside compressor is whisper quiet so apartment people could never complain. I am really impressed with it's heating. Nine degrees here this morning and it had the living area toastie warm within ten minutes. Installation trouble free and the remote control has massive capacity for customising settings. Probably the most...Read more
efficient unit you can get today. I monitor the electricity consumption and it is very frugal. A very happy customer and another good choice based on information I read in the Alternative Technology Association magazine, Renew. I am old enough to realise you need to pay a bit more for the best, it was expensive compared to some others but I believe worth the extra.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great air conditioner
We had our unit installed in Oct 2016 just before the Sydney summer heat wave and the unit has been wonderful! We were attracted to the 7 star energy rating and that hasn't disappointed us after reviewing the last two quarterly energy bills. Very quiet with great features. BrookAir from Kirrawee did a great installation job. A bit more expensive than other units though.

Joe Wisniewskiasked
Have built a 12cubic metre music rehearsal room . It is completly air tight . Will the fresh air function on the US7 be sufficient for a room that size . It will 95% of the time have one occupant. Max 2 people but only for a short time. It is not used for recording so some noise is not a problem
thanks

Our room isn’t that big. Can’t honestly answer. Sorry
Thanks for your answer, just though I’d explain the room is very small. 2 mts wide, 3 mts long and 2 mts high. Just incase you may have thought it was 12 square mts which is a big room would perhaps get another opinion.
Cheers Joe
