I’ve used these in my walk in closets for many years. Over the last year we have found damaged clothes due to leakage in the bags. Thought maybe the batch was faulty so we tried new ones. Same thing happened but this time all over my silk blouses!!!

Hanging damprid will just leak

published

After using Damprid for many years and being quite happy, my sister and I have seen non provoked leakage while hanging. Very aggravating!! I will now use the little buckets.

Am still using hanging Damp Rid but have placed a pan beneath it in case leakage reoccurs.

I have a similar account to Rob the Cleaner. I accidentally dropped this product in my walk-in wardrobe. One month later I am still cleaning this alien life force from my floors. It doesn't absorb on to a paper towel or cloth towels. All you do is distribute this fluid evenly around the house.Nothing can clean it. I have read the Kendler Corporation advice on cleaning up and advice is useless. It does NOT absorb onto anything.

Fantastic product - it's amazing how much fluid is created from the surround air.

Love these bags. I have been using them for the past year after we bought a double brick house and I was told they hold more moisture than timber framed houses. I had been using them in every room and changing them every 3 months. I was buying them at Costco and when they stopped selling them I was getting them from Bunnings. I now cannot find them anywhere. I would love to know where to buy these again as they work really well and the amount of fluid they produce is incredible.

Works so well it's scary

I buy these a lot and I'm shocked at how much moisture they pull out of the air in my closets, in such a short period of time. It makes me shudder to think how damp (and possibly mouldy) my clothes would be without them. The only thing I don't like about them is the fake lavender smell, but I can live with that for the other benefits.
I do wish they were more readily available though! I can't order them online and there's only one shop near us that has them.
Very effective, inexpensive
Slightly cloying perfume, hard to find in stores near me

Hi Andie,
If you can tell us where you're located we can advise where you can get supplied.
also you can buy the hanging bag in different scents - Fresh Scent, Fragrance Free, Citrus Fresh.

I'm near the Sydney CBD. Woolworths Metro only place I've seen them and they only stock the Lavender scent.

Woolworths only stocks the Lavender scented. Bunning & Howards storage World carry the others. Howards- Bondi & Moore Park & Bunnings Alexandria.
Hope this helps.

Not sure how your account events of means the product doesn't work as advertised, when you drop a glass vase and it breaks is the glass faulty?

Calcium chloride (CaCL2) reacts with water (H2O) to form calcium oxide (CaO) AND HYDROCHLORIC ACID (HCl) . The liquid in the bottom of the bag is no longer water as you can see from the formula and will explain yourge observations.

I have had it splash on clothing and I washed the clothes straight away the usual way without any problems. However it splashed on my shoes and I could only through them away. Hope this helps.

Maybe, I keep it in wardrobe to absorb moisture. It does have warning to keep away from children and can irritate eyes.

How do you clean the carpet and clothes when the bag breaks? I had a wardrobe hanging bag

I do not have a wardrobe hanging damp rid, mine is on the bottom of wardrobe and at the moment has collected a lot of moisture.

We couldn't wipe it all off. There is still a film of this stuff on the white board shelving. We could only hope that this substance would eventually dry up in the carpet. It had soaked heavily into the carpet but fortunately did not stain it. I think a lot of the liquid has dried up by now, but you can still feel the substance on the shelving and paintwork. We will never use that product again.

I've never had a bag break so I can't advise on cleaning. Have you contacted the company who make the product? That's what I would do. They could tell you exactly what is in it and recommend the best way to clean it up.
