WARNING DO NOT USE unless you want to ruin $800 with of leather boots, like we did using DAMP RID
Used this product for ages, bought them in the boxes. Then, used one bag and despite no obvious damage to the packaging and no way the bag was punctured, but was dripping slowly from the sealed bottom. Didn’t take long to distort my husband’s expensive RMW boot. Where the product has dropped onto the side of the boot, it’s sucked all moisture from the leather. Thought it was a bad batch and bought another box and not joking it leaked after a week onto this time Western boots from Canada and has completely ruined them where the leather has contr...Read more
acted into a shape that means they can’t be worn comfortably. Of course I didn’t keep the box stupidly, or else I’d be taking the grievance up with the manufacturer. I am not sure whether either pair of boots will be repairable. Makes me sick that this product is still for sale. Something changed sometime for the product to be so bad that other reviewers are putting pans to catch the drips. I won’t do that.Purchased in January 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse.

Poor quality
I’ve used these in my walk in closets for many years. Over the last year we have found damaged clothes due to leakage in the bags. Thought maybe the batch was faulty so we tried new ones. Same thing happened but this time all over my silk blouses!!!

Do not use this product
I have a similar account to Rob the Cleaner. I accidentally dropped this product in my walk-in wardrobe. One month later I am still cleaning this alien life force from my floors. It doesn't absorb on to a paper towel or cloth towels. All you do is distribute this fluid evenly around the house.Nothing can clean it. I have read the Kendler Corporation advice on cleaning up and advice is useless. It does NOT absorb onto anything.

Fantastic product - it's amazing how much fluid is created from the surround air.
Love these bags. I have been using them for the past year after we bought a double brick house and I was told they hold more moisture than timber framed houses. I had been using them in every room and changing them every 3 months. I was buying them at Costco and when they stopped selling them I was getting them from Bunnings. I now cannot find them anywhere. I would love to know where to buy these again as they work really well and the amount of fluid they produce is incredible.

Works so well it's scary
I buy these a lot and I'm shocked at how much moisture they pull out of the air in my closets, in such a short period of time. It makes me shudder to think how damp (and possibly mouldy) my clothes would be without them. The only thing I don't like about them is the fake lavender smell, but I can live with that for the other benefits.
I do wish they were more readily available though! I can't order them online and there's only one shop near us that has them.
Very effective, inexpensive
Slightly cloying perfume, hard to find in stores near me

Hi Andie,
If you can tell us where you're located we can advise where you can get supplied.
also you can buy the hanging bag in different scents - Fresh Scent, Fragrance Free, Citrus Fresh.
I'm near the Sydney CBD. Woolworths Metro only place I've seen them and they only stock the Lavender scent.
Woolworths only stocks the Lavender scented. Bunning & Howards storage World carry the others. Howards- Bondi & Moore Park & Bunnings Alexandria.
Hope this helps.

Don't use Damrid Moisture Absorbing Hangers!
Unfortunately, my wife bought these coat hanger style moisture absorbers for our main wardrobe. Tonight, I was packing my suit bag ready to travel and when I pulled some hangers from my wardrobe the worst thing happened. This bag full of liquid fell to the floor and exploded leaving globules of this stuff absolutely everywhere and over many clothing items and all over the carpet. I immediately ran to the kitchen to grab a roll of paper towels. When I tried to absorb the liquid into the paper towels, it didn't soak into them easily. I used ...Read more
a full roll of paper towels and this hadn't done much at all. I then disgarded the towels in the bin. I then realized that this liquid felt like an oily substance (Oh No). I hadn't realised that my feet had walked this greasy stuff all through the house on the glossy tiles etc and this didn't impress my wife at all. As a result, my wife will have to clean all the floors tomorrow with the steam mop and we will have to pay to have the carpets cleaned. I have strongly advised my wife never to bring this product into our home again, and she agreed. Nothing It is a product that doesn't do as advertised. They want you to believe it does.5 comments
Not sure how your account events of means the product doesn't work as advertised, when you drop a glass vase and it breaks is the glass faulty?
You are right in saying that the bag was not at fault because it did break when it hit the floor like any container full of liquid most likely would. You are welcome to comment on the following quest... Read more
ions that I ask leaving me to believe that this product it is fake, and I also welcome an industrial chemist to comment here to prove my theory wrong. (1) Would the clean air inside my wardrobe contain oil of any sort?Calcium chloride (CaCL2) reacts with water (H2O) to form calcium oxide (CaO) AND HYDROCHLORIC ACID (HCl) . The liquid in the bottom of the bag is no longer water as you can see from the formula and will explain yourge observations.

Good
DampRid was the perfect solution for us after all the flooding in Brisbane. Even though we weren't affected directly by the flood waters the moisture in the air started to create musty odours in our house. DampRid not only protects against moisture damage in turn preventing mould but it also creates fresher air. DampRid is safe for the environment, non toxic, ok to use around pets and children. It works by absorbing excess moisture into the white pellets, when the humidity is over 60% and dissolving them into a salt solution. Easy to use. Just ...Read more
open and hang inside a medium sized closet or cupboard. They suggested it would last for approx 60 days before needing to be replaced but we found it was more like 20-30 days post the flooding when humidity was at a high. Now humidity has settled they are lasting approx 40 days for us. Available at all good supermarkets. Reasonably priced. Excellent performance. Worked fantastically. Freshened the air and stopped mould and mildew forming. Reasonably priced.1 comment

How do you clean the carpet and clothes when the bag breaks? I had a wardrobe hanging bag
4 answers
I do not have a wardrobe hanging damp rid, mine is on the bottom of wardrobe and at the moment has collected a lot of moisture.
We couldn't wipe it all off. There is still a film of this stuff on the white board shelving. We could only hope that this substance would eventually dry up in the carpet. It had soaked heavily into the carpet but fortunately did not stain it. I think a lot of the liquid has dried up by now, but you can still feel the substance on the shelving and paintwork. We will never use that product again.
I've never had a bag break so I can't advise on cleaning. Have you contacted the company who make the product? That's what I would do. They could tell you exactly what is in it and recommend the best way to clean it up.

Am still using hanging Damp Rid but have placed a pan beneath it in case leakage reoccurs.
