Unfortunately Terrible

published

Bought 4 of these to go into our 4 cars. Eventually only 1 still working as the main device just stops transmitting it's wifi signal and then you are cactus. Can't access the cameras, or update or anything. Send 2 back to vendor - they returned them and they still didn't work. The Dashmate tech support also no good as they just said download the update and reinstall - still doesn't work. Really bad purchase. Went back to NAVMAN very basic cameras and all work every time.

Purchased in April 2021 at Frankies Auto Electrics & Car Audio for A$200.00.

Waste of money. Terrible product

published

During set up and tesfing it was fine. Then a week later tried to check it and the camera's WiFi doesn't come up so can't access the camera at all. Tried different phone to access WiFi but there's no WiFi coming from the camera so now can't even check the recordings or log in to manage the files in it. I am extremely dissatisfied with this product.

I purchased this camera for my 4wd. I initially had drama with the clock not setting. Then the unit stopped powering up. Would definitely not recommend to anyone. Multiple issues connecting to the device via wifi. The app doesn't help at all and continually crashes. I have bought a $49 job from China which leaves it for dead.

DashMate DSH-882

Purchased 2 of these for my cars and had them hard wired in by an authorised dealer and had nothing but problems with them. Quite often the rear camera would stop recording during the drive, then not long after that the front would stop recording as well. Several times checked the video files on the SD card after a long drive to find it had not been recording, you would never know if you did not check. The installer tried to help out as much as he could, but am now having them removed from both my vehicles to try another brand. DO NOT BUY, when you need the video it will most likely not be there for you to use.

Great Camera, works really well.

Great Camera, no connectivity issues with Apple iphones, Automatically connects, very clear camera, front and rear. The only thing I did find a little disappointing is there is no mention on the packaging that it does not include an SD card. Bit of a pain when you get home and your 20 minutes from the nearest town.

Front unit keeps beeping. Should this happen?

It means the memory card is full and isn't overwriting. If you can, re-format the memory card. If you can no longer access the device by wifi (which is what happened to me) it is cactus.

Not sure. I never had that happen. Mine was lucky to turn on...

Yes the unit talks to you, it is regarding front collision avoidance or lane change warning, I found my style of driving was to much for the unit and it was talking to me all the time. If u go into the app you can turn off the front collision avoidance as well as the lane change warning, it is all done in settings.
