Went to David Jones Chadstone to exchange a present I purchased for Christmas. My usual store where I am a long time customer who purchases a lot here each visit. I had put the receipts on the items tag so I don't loose them, something I always do incase of needing an exchange. I didn't realise that one item had the wrong receipt. e off. An item in mint condition with tags and I just wanted the bigger size. Went out and a friend called me, being in the moment I told her what happened. She told me that she once needed to exchange and manager did. So I rang head office, mainly for the appalling way I was spoken to. Girl I spoke to said that it was possible and she would get someone to call me. Guess who called me, the same manager who again gave me the same conversation and said he would think about it and call me back tomorrow. Really? What a pathetic response. Waste of time. Will I ever shop here again? NO! David Jones has they been willing would have continued to have a great customer and if the bigger size not available I would have got something else, most likely more expensive. David Jones loose here. My experience is also on my social media accounts and I won't shop here. Sales down at David Jones. Start employing staff that have outstanding customer service. Even smaller stores over Christmas exchange even when there is no receipt. Will shop on line. A friend of mine mentioned Myers exchanged for over Christmas as a gesture of good. That's good service is all about. David Jones can spend heaps on advertising but word of mouth and social media can be far more better if treatment of customers comes first. Staff at warringah mall could not care less
I went with the intention to buy some mugs that are on sale. Not only the staff wasnt helpul and did not know anything about the products. I mean i did a quick search online and knew more about it in just a quick look! They could care less and looked at me like they were doing me a favour to look for a particular type of mugs. Bad attitude. Did not buy anything.

Entirely disappointed in customer service.
Purchased an item from David Jones (A) with faulty stain on the inner surface, which was the last stock there. I found the stain after getting back home, and would make a request for exchanging a new one in David Jones (B) where had the stock within the same day. However the staff in David Jones (B) assumed that it was my fault to cause the problem. It is really disgusting for a (professional?) staff to check in front of the customer by smelling and rubbing the stain area.

to sell the faulty item with lower price even in the case that is not your fault. I cannot believe that it happened in a so-called luxury shop. This is my FIRST and LAST experience there! I would rather purchase online or in somewhere I deserve better customer service. p.s. Terrible rude service
Shopping at David Jones Chadstone store with my daughter looking at handbags. We were approached by a staff member Rebecca who basically accused me of stealing a handbag. I had to show her (and 2 security guards) the bag on the shelf that I had looked at. I had not taken it at all. The woman was arrogant and rude and was certainly not sorry, as the mistake was indeed hers.
It has put me off David Jones (I have shopped there for 30 years). It was such a negative way to be treated in store. David Jones need to find a better way to deal with shoplifters rather than accuse innocent shoppers.

Absolutely Appalling Service - Ruined my Wedding Gift List
Don't bother using them for your wedding registry/gift list - they closed mine with no warning 2 weeks prior to the date, then sent increasingly abusive messages about how they 'value their excellent customer service' when I complained. Gift cards were lost and then not delivered, and the ones we did receive electronically don't work! When contacted to ask how to rectify it, we're told to go to the store, to be told to call/go online, to get no response, to then be told to go back to the store!?! Liars and thieves, is the best I can say about them.

I ordered online from David Jones a gift set of Jean Patou Joy. It is supposed to be Christmas gift from my husband who had just come back from the hospital. It arrived on 14/12 but we did not open it till Christmas morning. It turned out to be another item and not the one we ordered.

False advertising. Black Friday
DJs retail shop, kitchenwares staff confirmed the Black Friday special re KitchenAid, free icecream bowl with mixer. This same special was also being offered elsewhere. I ordered through DJs Online AFTER confirming with the store. I did not receive this with my order. Have written to customer 'care' regarding this. Apparently this was subject to availability. I was not told this when enquiring. Had I known this before I would have ordered elsewhere, who was offering the same deal.

I have never ever seen such a rude service staff in my life! Something has changed at David Jones
Once a upon a time I used to go to David Jones and ALWAYS knew I could rely on the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. (70s, 80s, 90s...) It was an Australian company and it was ALL about customer service - no matter who you were! 2018 and 2022, I felt as something was different. I've checked with a colleague at work and she said, 'I know its not the same anymore.' And its not anything to do with retail in stores. Bullied and Made to Feel Terrible
My husband has been buying me Tom Ford for years from David Jones Perth. We have bought it from airports the World over. However, I will never ever ask my husband to purchase anything at all... ever again from David Jones ... Perth or any other store. aint. We were treated like morons by the salesperson and her manager. Absolutely no recompense or apologies (in real terms) you could see they just thought I was making a fuss, as my husband was bullied into a sale, that he was unsure off. I know this sounds silly, but a lot of men are not particularly comfortable buying perfume or any other womens goods, so to make it worse by making them feel like idiots, instead of being a 'real' sales assistant sucks. No reply to inquiries
I phoned david jones and requested to speak to Witchery women's department. They advised that the line is busy if I could try later. I did call back an hour later but the line was still busy, so they took my details to call me back themselves. Three hours later no one called back, and when i tried to call Witchery again the line was still busy. seriously? Three hours the line is still busy or off the hook? This is not the first time though plus delivery service for online purchases is way too long. Customer service at David Jones unfortunately is not the same. No wonder the store is suffering.

Shocked and disappointed
We paid $10 for a wedding gift to be wrapped and the result was appalling.
Paper quality was poor and the corners where the paper was folded was so messy.
It was then wrapped in a David Jones Ribbon. So we were paying an extra $10 to advertise their store.
I had to go home and rewrap the gift as I was so embarrassed.

Poor Service!!!
Do not buy any beds from David Jones. We bought a bed was worth $4000 that went down the drain. The sales people are real fake and they lie on how good the beds are. Considering I would never recommend anyone to go to David Jones. Really poor!!!!! and rip off!!

Rude customer service
This is in regards to the store located in Chadstone SC.
I was looking forward to purchasing a foundation hence asked the employee that works at the giorgio armani section if I can do a shade testing.
The employee brought out 3 shades to test. She then proceeded to roughly apply foundation on my face with a brush. With the foundation not even blended nicely, she then proceeded to ask me to check and see if it suits.
I asked for her opinion on whether the shade matches me but she just stared at me without any giving any suggestions.
Then I asked if i could try the lighter shade. She just handed me the lighter shade and expected me to apply it myself.

The death of our beloved quality store
i came to shop today and looked forward to cake and coffee. the cake was stale and i was told that they had no fresh stock they have on offer today at the patisserie.
WOW does this mean we can expect the same cut cost and pr-frozen stuff we find at woollies and Coles
On top of this an attitude of I don't care from the staff equals the beginning of the end of our beloved institution. WAKE UP DAVID JONES!

No wonder retail sales are down!
Sales assistants are supposed to assist you while making a sale, or so I thought. No. I went into Market St store, level 3 at 5.40pm on a monday eve, looking to buy a kitchen appliance. I saw 2 staff behind the counter in the middle of the floor talking to one another. 1 Staff member at another counter pressing buttons on the till. I then spent the next 10 minutes looking at several appliances I was keen to buy. Not once was I approached or asked if I needed help. Where is the staff training? How does David Jones survive if the whole premise of their being is subverted by indifferent employees? No wonder retail is suffering... because, guess what? I'm going on line! David Jones used to be known for its service. Now it is just another store.

Tuggerah store! I would give zero if I could!

Got the last item in stock in Australia
We were looking for the red version of this product - https://www.davidjones.com/Product/20690331/B'Lite-3-55cm-Small-Suitcase.html. Called a few stores in Sydney and it was out of stock. One guy at store (maybe Castle Hill) looked up the system and found the last one in Australia was in the (Melbourne) Southland Store.

Extremely poor service worst I ever had!
Bought 2 Sealy mattresses and 2 ensemble. Scheduled delivery was Thursday 24th October. I was forced to reschedule to Saturday 26th October as they could not agree to my previously agreed afternoon delivery. On Saturday, only 1 mattress and 1 ensemble arrived as they could not find my other mattress and ensemble! On Monday, they rang me to say they found it and will deliver on Tuesday morning. On Tuesday morning- they delivered a mattress and ensemble, however they delivered the wrong mattress!!! I had to ring David Jones to chase this issue up...Read more
as there was no communication between their courier and themselves!! To make things worse, I was expecting guests to stay over the next day on Wednesday! My bed was finally delivered on Wednesday evening. I did not expect this level of service from such a reputable company like David Jones. I will definitely not recommend it, just too much hassle to have to go through to receive what I ordered! On top of that, their courier promised me after they could not find my mattress the first time, that she will mail me a gift card, till this day, I have not received any such card, please do not promise customers one thing but not follow through!
