Size & functionality
I am super happy with my Dedica since my purchase in July 2018. Have had latissima for nearly 3 years prior to this and decided to move onto proper espresso machine to reduce waste and also purchase my own beans. This product is so slim that it fits perfectly in my tiny kitchen and does nothing fancy which exactly what I want - practical.
Purchased in July 2021 at Amazon for $130.00.

Great Little Performer
Produces a very good short black with plenty of crema. Simple to use. Good quality unit for the price. The steamer could do with being a little more powerful, but I really can’t complain with the unit as I didn’t spend $700-800 for something that I would rate similar. Great machine Delonghi!

Form and function
This looks absolutely stunning in the kitchen. It has a quality look to it as its made from stainless steel with white enamel (my one). It works brilliantly too. Lovely strong shots with a proper crema. Its easy to use but there's more to it than it first seems so it's definitely one of those machines where you need to read the manual. Very pleased with it.

Lots to Like About The Delonghi Dedica!
Like a number of other reviewers we were a little worried at first when we started using the Delonghi Dedica. Some shots came out weak and when we made the grind smaller it refused to pump a shot at all. However, once we reread the instructions regarding coffee fill weight and settled on a grind size that more emulated the size you get in a supermarket pre grind packet we have been getting good crema and taste every times. I would also advise you to tamp only quite lightly.
Taking note of the annoyance some reviewers have had with the des...Read more
cale warning we set the water type to soft (Sydney water is soft) so we expect the machine will ask to be descaled less often. We are very happy about the size of the machine and its looks in our kitchen and we are delighted by the literally few seconds it needs to heat up ready for the first pour. A mate of mine has a fancy multi thousand dollar machine and grinder set up. It takes him forever to produce a shot and in our opinion the results are no better. I have only used the milk frother twice and it seemed to work well but again I would advise you to read the instructions carefully for best results. If you bought this on a special I do not think you will be unhappy with the price or results and therefore, so far can strongly recommend this little pod sized machine! Ps. Apparently the appropriate pods are near impossible to buy but if you want some fun you can see youtube clips on how to make your own out of filter paper!!Similar opinion? Good strong coffee
I love my espresso strong and this machine needs my needs very well. It develops enough internal pressure and has a large enough basket to get thick extractions that you could stand a spoon in! It's quite a diminutive unit but much better than many others I have tried. Its also stainless steel and plastic - very nicely built. Combine this with decent freshly roasted coffee and you are on to a winner.

Great Value Coffee Machine
Excellent machine, great price. Very easy to use and the coffee tastes amazing. Milk frother does a fantastic job even though I have rice milk in my coffee (my sister has an earlier version of this model and it isn’t as good so they must have improved it). I prefer my coffee now to what I buy at cafes. Purchased this off eBay for around $250

Lovely design - great coffee
Very pleased with the results I am getting from this tiny machine. Its not wide at all so it fits on our cramped bench but the pump inside is very strong relative to its size. I get shots easily as good as my sisters Sunbeam which cost over $1000. Develops a nice crema too. It took a little getting used to the new machine. I find every different coffee machine wants to be packed in its own way - that's a feel thing and it takes some experimenting to get just right. I think the machine too 'relaxes" a bit after its been used for a month or two and you start getting the good coffees. It can do pods too but I never would! All in all a good machine and I am happy with it

Cafe Quality Coffee
After a ton of research on home espresso machines, I settled for the Delonghi Dedica EC685 White. After owning it for 3 weeks here's my verdict:
Patience! The machine took a few extractions to stabilise (as mentioned in the manual), it was dilute and feels like the pressure wasn't enough at first. However, after around the 5th extraction, I managed to get perfectly thick crema with the double shot filter basket. I figured that the trick was:
1. Heat up the filter basket by running one round of hot water to heat up the portafilter
2. Dry ...Read more

Lovely Coffee Machine
This review is after a months ownership. It actually took me a week or two to get used to the workings of this. Its easy to use but every machine has its own quirks and you have to be able to 'feel' the right pressure to use with the grounds. once I found the sweet spot, this has been brilliant. It produces delicious coffee every time. The water pressure seems just right to get lovely results. Not to muddy, not too bitter - just right! I am happy with this stylish Italian machine!

It’s just alright
Not really still buy my coffees didn’t find it easy to clean either and found that the coffee hubs would get stuck after awhile
I got this as a Christmas present so I’m not to bothered about it not being the best because I didn’t actually have to pay for it out of my own pocket

Excellent!
Great machine for first timers interested in coffee. Easy to use, great build and quality! Definitely recommend to anyone looking to try coffee making! Instructions could've been a bit more clearer to the average joe but there are many videos online to help assist with how to use this machine! Good product and quality and also purchased for a very cheap price, $117, hence the recommendation.

Brilliant Coffee Machine
We have had this for two months now and I love it. It makes the best, most consistent coffees. Rich and full bodied espresso. I don't know what the engineers at DeLonghi were doing when they designed this model but they seem to have got it exactly right. They are Italian so I guess it makes sense! Pressure and temperature are spot on. You can't really go wrong unless you mess up tamping down the basket. This is a cafe - grade machine in a tiny space. I thoroughly recommend this model.

Excellent Coffee Each Morning
This has rapidly become part of our morning routine. We bought it after doing a little research and the consistently excellent reviews this machine gets. I can see why! We really get top quality cafe quality coffee from it. It takes a little time to learn the barista's 'art' at home but once you do, it really rewards you. This machine is amazing considering it's tiny size. The only thing to remember, apart from filling the water tank, is to regularly descale it to keep it's internals clean. Would recommend this model to all.

Top quality barista coffee
Top quality, I am very impressed with this little machine, makes perfect creama on my coffee and froths milk beautifully, silky smooth! I was a bit hesitant after reading some of the negative reviews but honestly I can’t see how you can go wrong here, it’s a very easy to use machine, I used to be a barista and this machine is so simple! Well worth the investment, buy good quality beans and you have cafe quality coffees!
Easy to clean and maintain, with some basic practice I don’t think you can go wrong with this machine! It has exceeded my expectations, highly recommend!!!!

Makes Quality Coffee
This little machine is the mighty mouse of coffee machines! It is very slender on the bench but strongly made from solid steel. It looks good and cleans up easily.
The insides are what count and it has a powerful pump and makes absolutely top notch coffee. We are talking 'who needs the cafe anymore ' quality here. The performance I am getting is better than I expected for the price paid and so I am very pleased.
It took a bit of experimentation with ground size and doses to get this just right but when you do, it's really spot on. Fully recommend this model.

Great Results Well Built
Just got this and I am very happy with the results I am getting with it. It is easy to pull beautiful sweet espressos and I have only had it for a week.
It is well made and all metal which I like and quite small in size. I comes with a tamper but no milk jug. It does have a steam wand which I am still experimenting with but I must go for espresso so I am well happy.
This was on special for $343 and is getting better results than $1000 machines that my family members have.

Really Good Coffee Machine
I am amazed at this little Italian marvel.
This Delonghi Dedica really brings the goods in terms of making delicious coffee. It has 15 Bar system and once you get the hang of tamping the coffee down like a barista, you get beautiful espresso extraction every time. It also has a steam want if you need to fluff up milk for cappuccinos or lattes.
Its solidly made from stainless steel and surprisingly slim on the bench.
I am more than happy with this machine, I am rapt with it!

Good little machine
We bought this from harvey norman as it was pretty much the cheapest option.
So far no problem with it except making multiple coffees is a bit tricky and you need to turn the unit on and off before each shot which is not a big deal to be honest.
Overall we are happy with our purchase and its a Good value for money too.

Decent machine for starters
Easy to start and use. The taste of espresso is nice, while the steam wand is too light and hard to clean.
Purchased on Amazon before Chirstmas, kind of disappointed for the quality compared to the price, like the handle of portafilter is plastic basically.
Definitely go for better brand like Breville if budget allowed, but a good for coffee starter at home.

Hey, I just bought a new EC685W,
when I try to set up the machine, as I followed the instructions both in manual and YT, water does not come out from the steam wand. The only thing happened there was sound from the machine and vibration. Then after that, the coffee buttons keep blinking.
I also tried to purge the espresso dripper by pushing the 2 cups mode button as instructed, nothing happened. Again, the buttons keep blinking, then I switch off the power button to make it stop.
Anybody can help? Thanks in return.

Take it back, the pump is defunct, mine died after making 10 cups. Ask for a refund and get a decent machine. If you can still find the Aldi $299 coffee machine then grab it. It runs rings around anything else under $1,000.
Just make sure you are turning the steam switch all the way to the mark, otherwise bugga all happens. My first ever cup was like that and I was worried it was r/s but the machine is quite sturdy. Probably 3 - 400 cups later still going strong !!
