Not as good as our old heater

published

We purchased this to replace an older heater (different brand). It is ok but doesn't seem to give off as much radiant heat. The 'chimney effect' generates heat that goes straight up. Not good if you want to stand near it to 'warm up'. It was not what I was expecting.

Gets The Job Done Under $200

published

We got this before moving out last month. Its effective for heating rooms and things and does not consume too much watts while doing so. I recommend having a humidifier along side this, since it can dry your skin's. Surely this isn't expected to be as effective as heaters installed in homes, but it gets the job done quite well and I liked it.

Perfect but noisy

published

this is a perfect heater and safe. it heats up the room so quickly. I have 3 of them in my house. never had a problem with it. if you have kids around this is the best option you can go with. however there is a timer on it which at night makes noise and if you are sensitive to noise this might annoy you.

Great heater and cheap to run

published

We use this in the kids' bedroom and it has been great so far. No noticeable change on the power bill. I set it to 1 (which just takes the chill out of the room), and the thermostat turns the heater on and off as required. Never gets hot to touch and not easy to tip over, so haven't had a problem having it in the room with young kids.

Great heater for a medium room

published

Got this heater for a large room but it did not have the grunt so moved it to the study and it works a treat. I put it on 30 minutes before wanting the room and it is tostie by the time I use the room. The blow heater is not great.

Good heater

published

I have been using the De longhi heater for the last 10 months. I have another heater from another brand but it is not as good as the De longhi. I really enjoy the timer function to set a time that I want it to turn on. It is also good to keep your place really warm.

Not hot at all.

published

Smell is very bad. And never gets the temperature up. Useless!!! Takes a little while to heat up. Having the timer is handy. Don't know about the electricity bill yet. Have to wait and see. A panel heater is more effective than a fan heater like this. I am using the radiant heater. Way more handy!

Amazing heater

published

The 11 fins of the Delonghi Oil Filled Radiator DL2401TF generate a lot of surface that can heat up when you turn it on. The maximum heating power that the radiator can generate is 2400W, while the minimum is 1300W. The medium power is 1600W, and it should be enough to maintain the temperature of an already warm room. If you turn on the radiator and use the maximum setting, the room should be warm in a matter of minutes. This radiator is actually highly praised for the short time needed to bring the temperature in a room at ideal values.

A very good and portable oil heater unit.
Heats up pretty quick and good for average size bed room.
Timer function definitely helps getting the room too hot if you want too leave it on for longer periods.
I can confidently say that this will be one of the good purchases if you are after a heater.

Best heater I have ever had

published

We bought this a month ago because our living room is big and cold and we couldn't warm the room up with our old heaters and our 2 month old baby got always really cold hands and nose.
However with DeLonghi on level 6 -Max it will take less than 15 min to warm up the whole living room + kitchen.
The best feature for us is the fan. It is got a small fan that will seep up the warm up process :)
We really recommend it

Great heater for small room.

published

I bought this heater few months back. Been using it in my kids bed room. So far no issues. Can make the room warm quite fast. But I wont recommend it to use in large room as I tried to used it in my bedroom (around 4*4m) and it took very long to make the room warm.

Decent heater for a good price

published

We purchased this heater to put into the baby's room during the winter.
The heater gets the job done. We dont have any complaints on the performance or have had any significant issues with using it.
A good heater for someone that doesnt need any fancy features to warm up during winter.

Great for kids rooms

published

Great little heater with a timer, great for the cold winter months and any small bedrooms. A lot safer than electric blankets and not to expensive on electricity. Doesnt take to long to heat up. Can be stored away very easy in a cupboard without take up to much room. Timers can be set to come out when your out making it nice and warm for when you arrive home

Does the trick.

published

This heater really does tick all the boxes. It's not obtrusive - fits in with any room. The design makes it fit easily near a wall or at the end of a bed or dresser. It is a neutral colour. Doesn't take up much room.
Doesn't use too much energy. Definitely recommend.

Heats a room...but takes too long

published

Too slow to heat up a room to be the ideal heater. The booster fan is ineffective in that it only produces heated air when the heater itself is hot. Had expected it to produce warm air immediately when the heater is first turned on as the heater itself takes so long to heat up and the heat is slow to disperse to the whole room. A panel heater is more effective than a fin heater like this.

Great product

published

This heater works great. We have timer set for 3pm so nice and warm when we get home. It keeps our lounge room nice and toasty for the nights. Alot safer option if you have small kids or pets. Hasn't made a big difference to electricity bill. Highly recommended by me.

Heats well

published

Bought this from The good guys after reading reviews here. Purchase was easy. It heats up well, however for 2400watts I expected it to more powerful. I start it off at the highest and turn it down. Takes a little while to heat up. Having the timer is handy. Don't know about the electricity bill yet. Have to wait and see. It is a good product but don't about value for money.

Questions & Answers

TDW

TDWasked

I can not get rid of the smell of my DL2401TF. I have run it for 10 hours a day for 5 consecutive days on high full heat and the smell has decreased some but is still too strong to use inside a room for heating so currently useless for the required purpose. It does heat up well so no problem with producing heat but cannot be used for heating a room due to the smell.
What can I do to get rid of this smell so I can actually use the heater for heating a room?
Is the smell a health hazzard?
I will appreciate your prompt reply

I have no experience with this model, only the Dimplex. Reviews seem good. There may be something stuck in the heater that shouldn't be there. https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/delonghi-electric-oil-column-heater-dl2401tf/reviews/#:~:text=Delonghi%20DL2401TF%20Electric%20Oil%20Column%20Heater%20Reviews%20%7C%20Appliances%20Online

the only thing l can think of ..was the heater sitting up straight when it was delived mine was upside down when l took it out of the carton l waited about 2 hours and switched it on no problems

Hi there,
Its not a health hazard apart from the fact it is unlpeasant. Its just the new smell of the oil getting hot. In some cases it takes a little longer, my new heater took about a fortnight of constant use. Also double check the fins are clean as dust will also cause this smell.

Is this heater OK to use around birds

1 answer
Svay

Definitely, it circulates the warm air around the environment. However, make sure you isolate the heating areas to ensure your bird not flying in and stuck in there.

Hi Anna, generally most new electrical products give off a smell from all the parts being used for the first time this is very standard sand the smell disappears after a few uses. The heater fins are metal.
