Love my morning coffee
I absolutely love my Delonghi espresso maker and use it everyday. It never skips a beat and makes beautiful coffee. The milk frother is also awesome and easy to use to get the right thickness. The machine itself looks smart on the kitchen bench and is also easy to clean. Highly recommended.

Tips for good coffee
Bought the ECOV310 Vintage green Dec 2015, and have no problem since then. Find it t is both easy to use and clean. I only use it to make espresso coffee, hardly have any experience with the cappuccino nozzle. I make 2 to 3 cups a day, usually after meals.
I descale it every 3 months. I always preheat, flushing before and after every cup, so the boiler outlet is always kept clean, and system is heated to the right brewing temperature.
I use a Bodum burr grinder, grinding fresh 7 to 8gm of beans for each cup, selecting fine grind size for espresso, usually with medium or dark roast beans. The result is always satisfying, a nice cup of espresso (about 60ml) full of crema and robust taste and balance, taken without sugar.
Try it !

ECOV310BG We have bought 2 of these machines in 3 years - Grrr! both outside the one year paltry guarantee. i had no real sympathy from customer services, I was sad about this and have no coffee to drink!! :-( The product makes nice coffee, but I am sure will not last unless you use it once a week! Not robust at all

Stylish and practical
Best thing is you can use either ground coffee or a pod in this machine. Simple to use, looks fantastic and is versatile. Coffee taste great and very easy to clean. Pods are available from Harvey Norman or JB Hi Fi for three different types and prices, these are also biodegradable therefore kind to environment.

Ok for home coffee maker
This machine is having good vintage looks especially with the light blue colour that we have. We used it everyday as I am a stay home mum and having considerable time to make a great coffee. Coffee produced perfectly as you need to not overfill the coffee holder.
The steam could not work simultaneously with espresso making makes it hard to multitask. After finish just prepare a wet cloth and wipe out the steamer and wash the coffee handler with running water.

Ok while it works
It makes an ok coffee (not great) but we picked it up cheap because we loved the retro look. It is a pest to clean and if you like strong coffee you need to run several times as it only has capacity to make one weak cup at a time. It only lasted about 13months and then developed a fault that tripped the safety switch whenever the machine was turned on. really not worth it.

It makes my day every day.
The machine extracts excellent creamy espresso even if I use a cheaper coffee sometimes.
It's simple to be operated and I couldn't find any difficulties to use it.
I use a damp clothe to clean the surface and the cup tray can be washed directly under running water, easy and fast. The water tank is detachable and easy to be filled with water.

Instant coffee is better
Bought this machine because it was 50% off and it looks cute. Regretted my decision after making a few cups of coffee. Firstly, the water drips too fast so the coffee come out bland. Secondly, the heat pump takes a long time to heat up and temperature drops quite quickly and needed to wait for it to heat up again. Not worth the money. I went back to instant coffee and put it on Gumtree.

Makes a great coffee
Designed similarly to our last Delonghi, this one has a new look, whilst giving the option of using ESE pods. It really is a no fuss, easy to use & easy to clean machine, allowing non fussy coffee drinkers the opportunity to make their own coffee. For $170 from Costco, I couldn't resist.

Worst investment ever!!
Plastic wand constantly blows while steaming the milk. Danger of steam burns on the face. I have burnt myself a few times.
Decides it hasn't heated up enough half was through extracting a coffee.
Tamp is fixed to machine - which means it's difficult to get necessary pressure
All of this for a very average tasting coffee.

Basic manual coffee machine, value for money
This coffee machine works well, not too complicated to set it up. I have been using for 2 years, it is still working well except sometimes it leaks coffee from the handle. I bought it at a good price and would say it is value for money for the quality

Fantastic And Easy
The finish is fabulous. I made a wood block to put under the milk jug so I could other tasks while the milk steams up to temp. Right on about a standard cup not fitting under coffee spout. I fixed that be removing the chrome draining rack permanently and have had no problems since. After couple of months steam spout had steam pouring out of its top and milk wouldn't heat. Email delonghi and they immediately went me an envelope of O rings. Easy to install, fixed the problem and I have had a lot of trouble free wonderful Lattes since. 100s of them. It's a beauty!

A day without a coffee is a nightmare
Read all the reviews thought now this is the machine I want & bought it on an auction on E-Bay brand new still in the box
It looks fabulous in my red kitchen, yes I bought the red model. After my last machine finally gave up the ghost after 3 years, this was a dream to use, made a few mistakes firstly by not turning on the milk frother but once I got the hang of it, its dead easy to use. I read of complaints of trying to lock the coffee spout in place which is total rubbish because it doesnt actually go right into half way (its a wonder you di...Read more

Great coffee and easy to use for a manual machine
It is easy to use, clean and makes good coffee. I do have to use the double shot to make one coffee, but it's mostly just me using it, I don't mind.
Great colours and matches the other delonghi appliances in the kitchen.
Only down side not to give 5 stars is the noise.. It has annoying rattle and when in use.

Worst coffee machine ever
Used to have a cheep $120 sunbeam that lasted 4 years which packed it in. Thought I would pay extra and get something better. Not the case. Coffee tastes weak. Need to make as double shot with double coffee to get a good coffee. milk frothier is useless. The only way to get a creamy froth is to take of the plastic airraiter and froth manually however under preasure, plastic spout shoots off into the milk, covering you in hot milk. Have had it for 9 months now and have not enjoyed a cup of coffee from it yet. Give me a budget sunbeam any day.
Small. (Won't take up much room in the rubbish bin)
Bad milk frothier, bad coffee, too light weight(need to hang onto machine when locking in handle)

Simple But Great
I have used one of these machines for nearly 3 years now and loved it (it failed just this week) and while it does have some idiosyncrasies, (the steam spout movement is a bit restricted), it has always made great coffee. But good tasting coffee is more about the blend you use and your technique than the machine.
For starters, try putting about 1 tablespoon of Baily's Irish Cream in the cup first, (we actually use the Aldi O'Donnalls equivalent at half the price and their ground Columbia blend for a simple and non-bitter flavour). Not too mu...Read more
ch or the alcohol overpowers the sweet flavour of the brew. I also always make two cups together (for me and the missus) and fill the glasses to at least 60ml to get good flavour from the grind. Another trick, I found that by putting the milk jug under the spout, then sliding our benchtop plastic spoon rest (ours is a cow) under it, it raises the jug to the right height to stop milk pouring over the top when fully frothed and I turn on the steam then leave it until the jug is a tad more than too hot to touch. If I stop when the jug just feels hot, then the final brew is only lukewarm (but is immediately scoffable). Another secret it is to make sure the coffee handle and filter cup are washed after every session AND both the outer and inner steam spouts removed and washed also. This prevents dried grounds (in the filter) and dried milk (in the spout) from clogging. Occasionally I will also take the handle filter cup (the bit that holds the grounds) apart to clean it. It's too bad I can't remove the main boiler filter. Apart from being very awkward to get at, the screw seems welded in place, because this filter is now apparently blocked and the machine just squeezes water out through the various hose connections and all over the bench instead of out through the filter. I can still use the steam function though. Easy to use, easy to clean Main boiler filter can't be removed (stuck)1 comment

Fantastic
Great little machine much better than capsule machines- used daily to make 4plus coffees. We do the frother and can't comment as to whether it works.
Have had one for over 3 yrs now and buying a new one because the tray is warped from washing in dishwasher- had also started leaking a bit
Reliable, small and nice looking and good colour range
Can't wash accessories in dishwasherand its a bit noisy

A failure of style over substance
It looks great. It makes coffee. Sadly the people who put all that effort (and then some) in to designing this thing don't seem to have coffee making in mind. It is over-engineered with unnecessary design in every part of it.
For no reason whatsoever the portafilter basket is not one piece, but can be pulled apart into 3 pieces. Why? A one piece basket would do the same job, and be easier to clean. The tamper is attached to the left side of the machine and to put good pressure on it you will lift the machine of the bench. Also, the machine d...Read more
oesn't come with a scoop, so you will want to keep the one from the last machine you had. The steam wand is of inconceivably bad design. It also breaks down into an unnecessary number of parts; the plastic(!?) wand and the milk frother. But lets say you know how to make coffee (this may not be your first coffee machine), or you don't want frothy milk? Forget it. The wand doesn't attach to the machine without the frother. If you wish to leave the frother off, you better have some gloves on because the steam pressure is going to blow the wand right off and blow milk from the jug all over your hands! And why are you holding the jug anyway? Because unless you want frothy milk, or have a very tall jug filled to the top with milk to cover the frother to stop it frothing, the shape of the machines base prevents you from resting the jug, say, on an upturned cup, while you go and get ready for work. But, you may be tempted to try, so believe me when I say these machines would be perfect for the shamwow commercials. Another design flaw is the reservoir. For some strange reason the lid for the reservoir is built onto it. So where I used to fill my old machine from the filtered water from my fridge, now I have to fill a jug first, then the machine because the lid gets in the way to push the lever to turn the fridge tap on.4 comments
Totally agree! I have one and am looking today at how to get my money back. It makes making coffee a chore!
And finally the thing has given up the ghost! It lasted 9 months, using it at least once a day. Lets see how long it takes DeLonghi to fix it.
You guys are wierd. The filter basket design makes it so easy to clean thoroughly, much better and easier than any other I have had. It NEVER clogs. I have tried fully auto machines and none of them m... Read more

Hi, Kerry, your referring to the top red light, mine stays on until I turn it off, mmm, maybe a fault with the unit . The second light, green, will come on once the unit it hot enough, I still get water out of it even when the light switches off ( I like a large latte).hope this helps, Linda

Hi
I just got my mashine and it seems to work Well apart from one little issue - the handle for inserting the coffee is so tight i feel i might breake the machine is there anyway to make it fit easier?
Thanks
Sigrid
1 answer
Hey Sigrid,
From my experience with the machine and what I've noticed there is 2 reasons why this handle is tight, first one when the machine is brand new the seal is new and tight but it gets softer as you use it and second reason is overfilling the container with coffee makes harder to lock in place, nothing to worry you won't break it, the machine is tougher than it looks. !!!!

Just got the machine and very happy with it except: coffee drips unequally from both drips. I clean it after every coffee shot, tried using pods and different grinds levels but nothing helps. Any suggestions?

Hi Danieli
I just found out this machine is only good for 1 coffee a day??? Go figure!!! Is your handle clean?? (Where u put the coffee/pod)??? You might need to get a pin and clean every little hole and pull it all apart and scrub it clean. Hope this helps ???

Well its given up the ghost, been having problems with leakage from the frothing spout and this morning all it gave me was water, no steam, it was pretty good at the start but now, its as vintage as me, suppose I was lucky it lasted 19 months
