My coffee machine is leaking water from the underside of the unit. Where the silver filter is and all around that area? It was working perfectly up until today.

Do you mean from the drip tray that sits under the brew area.
Or from the back near the water tank. Sometimes if that's not pushed down the whole way water will come out of the water tank instead of flowing through the machine check the water tank is connected properly also check the drip tray isn't too full and overflowing through the back of the drip tray.
Please let me know how you go. thank you
I think I used to fine a grind and it’s blown something

Does anyone know if this machine can steam milk without the cappuccino attachment? I am used to using a regular steam wand and want textured milk but not a lot of foam! Any tips?

Cheryl B.DeLonghi
Hey Alexiona,
You can sink the wand further into the milk to have it flatter, the attachment works the milk into itself and then rotates through a tiny hole so if you sink it deeper in the milk it will cover the hole and cause the milk to be flatter. When you take the attachment off the rubber underneath is designed to easily take off to clean so it will pop off under the steam pressure if you use it without the attachment.
Thanks so much for the response. I am glad I checked. At the moment I am getting large bubbles which I dont like so I will try your suggestion.

Hi there. I just purchased this machine. I a. Trying to follow the instructions to cool the boiler so I can make espresso after steaming milk without it burning. Instructions say to cool it press steam button and allow water to run out until steam fubction light switches off. Does this mean also turn steam knob??? Mine has no water coming out and the steam light is still on.

Hi ALexiona,
is it making any noise at all? Have you left the button on for a while to see if it releases steam first then the water?
Basically the left over extra hot water needs to run out of the machine to get back to the coffee temperature. If whats in the manual isnt working you could use the hot water button and release the water from the steam wand just make sure you put the milk jug under the steam wand so you don't get splashed with super hot water.
Let me know how you go.
Cheers

All of a sudden my Delonghi Icona leaks puddles of water everywhere. It originates from the bottom of my machine. Unfortunately my warranty is up as it was bought for me a few years ago and was just sitting on my counter and I just started to actively use it a week or so ago and have made no less than half a dozen espressos on it. Anyone know why it would do this?

Thinking of getting one of these as it's quite affordable for a coffee machine. We've had capsule machines before and the coffee doesnt seem to get hot enough.
Is someone able to tell me whether the this one produces hot hot coffee or similar to a capsule machine? Or how I can tell the temperature of a machine by looking at specs online?
Thnx

just got my machine and love it... but the on indicator light doesn't go ...it did the first time i used it, but hasn't since?
Normal???

Hi, Kerry, your referring to the top red light, mine stays on until I turn it off, mmm, maybe a fault with the unit . The second light, green, will come on once the unit it hot enough, I still get water out of it even when the light switches off ( I like a large latte).hope this helps, Linda

Just going through the water clening exercise prior to actually using it. Why has this decided to STOP after 3 cups of cleaning water? There is still water in the tank. The warming tray on top is still hot after waiting 15 minutes for it to wake up. I'm so over today's products that are made in China where they use the public to do the testing and quality control. DeLonghi, please respond as this is not a great look after unpacking it!

Machine is leaking water from underneath while I'm brewing coffee.. Any help?
2 answers
Oh no, call Delonghi on 1800 126 659. Last time I called them with an issue I found them knowledgeable, rude and insensitive but the troubleshooting they stepped me through helped resolve my issue.
Make sure you have the black knob on top turned as far as you can clockwise. I always keep the cup underneath (for catching the brewed coffee) while I am frothing the milk.. I remove the coffee arm and reservoir before removing that cup. If the water is leaking from anywhre other than where the coffee comes out, I suggest you call the company on 1800126659.

After identifying a leak from around the coffee delivery area. Ive taken the top off and exposed the mechanical part of the machine to find water is spraying/leaking from what appears to be screws holding the boiling element in place. How can I fix it?
2 answers
Obviously tighten the screw if you can. If its getting old, it may be time for an update. Thats what i did as they dont last forever.
Thanks for the response. I've tightened the screws, but alas no help. The machine has been used for less than a year (but out of warranty) before we started having issues.

What coffee pods are compatible with the delonghi icons?
1 answer
If you are interested in coffee, don't use pods. I know some machines do, but don't know which ones.

We are very happy with the machine apart from one small problem. The second cup is not as good as the first having less crema. We have tried to make sure that coffee dose and tamping pressure is the same but second cup is never up to the first. Any help?

I have the same experience. I make a new cup every time rather than using the first batch of steamed milk. I steam milk again. Hope this helps.
Hi Arosha. Instructions say only make espresso first then the milk. Are you saying it works ok to do espresso then milk then back to espresso? My old at home machine could handle that just fine so I am hoping your answer is yes!

Hi
I just got my mashine and it seems to work Well apart from one little issue - the handle for inserting the coffee is so tight i feel i might breake the machine is there anyway to make it fit easier?
Thanks
Sigrid
1 answer
Hey Sigrid,
From my experience with the machine and what I've noticed there is 2 reasons why this handle is tight, first one when the machine is brand new the seal is new and tight but it gets softer as you use it and second reason is overfilling the container with coffee makes harder to lock in place, nothing to worry you won't break it, the machine is tougher than it looks. !!!!
Cheers
