Hi we just bought this machine but the coffee just drips out I.e doesn't flow. Is this normal?

Hi Alyson, perhaps check what grind and aroma setting you have the machine on if the grind setting is too low a number the grounds will be too fine stopping the water from pouring through the coffee and if the aroma setting is on max as well as the coffee being too fine it will stop the coffee from pouring smoothly.
The grind control is the numbered dial inside the bean container.
Hope this helps let me know how you go.

Hi I am having issues with the buttons on my machine.
Unless I keep my finger on the button for the entire process it stops - even if it has already started pouring coffee into my cup.

I have lost countless amounts of ground coffee and it is getting frustrating!
Any ideas on what may be causing this issue?

Hi there, as we only use tank water (pure rain water) in our house/ coffee machine, the machine has only asked for a descale twice since new. We don`t use the filter in the machine either! Our water hardness didn`t even register on the original test paper. So I`m guessing that it has something to do with water hardness?? Sorry I can`t be of more help.

DeLonghi
Cheryl B.DeLonghi

Hi, the descale alarm is based on how many coffees you make as well as what water hardness setting the machine is on. If you are finding it is a bit too often just place the machine on a lower setting. 1 is for the softest water and will ask for the least descales and 4 is for the hardest water will ask more often. You also can delay the descale and keep making coffees the alarm will not disappear until you actually descale though.
Here is the how to video for water hardness on your machine.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rkYNNhxPB2Y if you dont still have the test that came with the machine you can just go into the menu and change the setting from default 4 to 2 or 3. Especially if you are using the filter and replacing often enough. Hope this helps.
thank you

My Eletta continually asks for a descale even when it has just been done & when on rinsing cycle to complete descale it will keep rinsing so long as you keep topping the water up. Have done a water hardness test & is set on #2. I do not use a water filter.

I took mine to Bunnings and dumped it in their bin where they take electrical goods, it was only 18 months old and totally useless. After that I went out and bought a Breville.

Hi Michelle, Thank you for your inquiry and I am very sorry to hear about the issues you have experienced with your Delonghi Eletta coffee machine. If the spout is popping off and your milk jug is not working then you may require a set of new o-rings so air does not escape. Over time these may wear. Please send us a private message with your address and I will happily organise an order for the spare parts you need :)

Hi, did you ever get an answer to this problem? My machine is doing exactly the same thing? Very annoying as I have no idea how to resolve it?

Never got an answer! Poor customer service!

Hey Guys.
We try to monitor the questions coming through here as much as possible. The best way to contact us however is by calling our customer service team 1800 126 659 if you are in australia. Otherwise the relevant De'Longhi office that is in your country.
Especially if your machine might need a service they can help organise that for you as well. If you are hearing the beans grind and then nothing after that its possible the brewing unit is not moving freely.
Do you regularly remove the brewing unit to clean - it has been made removable so that you can clean ona regular basis.
This can be accessed from behind the trap door once you remove the water tank. This must be done when the machine is off so that the brewing unit is in the right position to remove.
Let me know how you go and I will try and help you more.
Thank you

Hi Evelyn,
The information for any messages that come up on the machine is in the displayed messages section of the manual towards the back on page 21-22. You just need to insert the spout and press okay to deliver water so the circuit is primed again.

My Eletta cuppuchino machine milk frother (jug) is just spitting milk on and off, not frothing properly. Sometimes it froth fine on 1 cup and next onwards not giving froth just milk. But one can hear the steam is coming out. We already sent it in 4-5 months ago, but now it starts doing the same. Dont want to take it back to them because they first said it was the belts and nozzles, and after changing that they said it is the jugs frother. After they replaced the jug it worked properly again for few months. They just trial and error and we have to pay a lot. What can we check ourselves?

Get rid of the useless piece of crap - that's what I did with mine. It is cheaper to buy a new one, different brand of course.

Hey Wimpers.
Are you cleaning the milk carafe after making milk? See the below how to videos that show the after use clean and the more detail clean. This will help to remove any residues that easily build up form the milk and help themilk to flow better again.

Also if you are using different milk that isn't cold from the fridge this may also cause the spluttering. Whether dairy milk or other plant based milk it always need to be cold from the fridge to ensure the best texturing.
Hope this helps let me know how you go.

Hi there, I've been using my machine for about 6 months. There is a lot of mould forming on my grounds after around 3-4 coffees when my machine tells me to empty the grounds container. Is this normal in summer?

1 answer
DeLonghi
Cheryl B.DeLonghi

Hey Sam
this is completely normal as the coffee is so wet after being brewed its the perfect breeding ground for mould. Even as a barista during the course of the day i would see mould start to grow on the used grounds in the knocker tube. Particularly in summer as it is extra hot. The sleek plastic on the grounds container and regular emptying will stop the mould from growing up into the machine. It wont go near where the coffee is brewed as it stays on the grounds.
