DeLonghi Eletta Cappuccino
Waste of money, the coffee is never hot enough, It is easy to use and clean, If it had a higher temperature, it would be a good buy, but we have had to buy a Sunbeam Torino machine... Now that is a fantastic coffee, very hot and tasty with a good crema on top, it cost more, but for a good coffee, it was worth it

Best coffee machine - can't live without it
After 12 years of owning several Saecco coffee machines I decided to finally get a machine that can do flat whites with the push of a button. A dream came true. Adjusting the coffee and milk quantities was easy to do and the flat white and cappuccino it produces are absolutely fantastic. The milk is perfectly frothed up - just like you get it in a good coffee shop. Machine is very easy to clean too.
Really happy and highly recommend the DeLonghi Eletta. It's worth every dollar you pay.

Warm coffee's
I've had the machine for 4 months now (Purchased in Mar 2017).
The machine has pre-programmed buttons on top that you can set to your own measured levels.
eg. Latte button (Coffee&Milk) can be programmed to dispense 30ml of coffee and 150ml of milk. Or whatever you like.
Milk button (Milk Only) can be programmed to 100ml. Or whatever you like.
Just hold the button down and it goes in to program mode and just lets it pour until you press the button again and it will remember how much you wanted.

easured doses consistent. If you find you don't have enough milk in your mug you can select the MILK button again, once it's full you can tap the MILK button again to stop it. The milk frother has two options... Option 1. Use the milk frother jug and select the level of frothiness and your all done. - I select the select the minimum level although my wife likes the medium froth setting.

Great Machine however !!
I think the taste of any machine mainly depends on the quality of the beans, This machine is not as good as our old Delongi ESCAQM350 which we had for over 6 years. The Eletta is difficult to use as the quantity of all measures e g short, standard, long are all very small serves, which takes time so get use too. The temp. is not very hot, even after the rinsing mode is activated. Don't bother trying the Latte or Cappuccino as 3/4 of the cup is all milk. We were spoilt by our old machine.

Good machine, needs to be hotter
Good easy machine, like most other auto machines if you want a decent coffee, Instead of pushing the flat white or cappuccino button I prefer to push just the coffee button then push the milk button after. This way it turns out more like a barista made cofffe not one with whit milk froth on top. Takes a bit longer but tastes better. The manufactures make the machines like this as it is quicker to do the milk first, this way their heat up and coffee making times look better on the sales spec sheet. Definitely needs to be hotter, has adjustment but even on hottest and preheating the cups is far from hot.

good coffee just could be a little hotter
makes a good coffee and am happy that you can put the milk frother in the dish washer, onpy negitive is that it doesnt make a very hot coffee, so as soon as you make it you have to drink it or it goes too cold, just got to make sure you clean the defuser out ever week

Better than a pod machine
Looks great in white, easy to clean, water on the side so you can have under a cupboard, i don't feel the coffee gets hot enough on the highest setting if you like to just add cold milk to your coffee but if you use the cappuccino or flat white options it heats the milk. The coffee also doesn't seem that strong. I may not know how to use it properly yet. My last machine a saeco made better coffee, i used to look forward to a coffee every morning but was a night mare to clean and everything broke on it after 3 years of use. UPDATE: Adjusted coffee grind and it now makes amazing coffee, really strong and temp is good too.

Great machine and very reliable
I have had this coffee machine from 4 years so far, no issues... Very easy to clean and maintain.
Coffee tastes great as long as you're buying a good quality one, it can use both ground and whole bean coffee, I prefer the whole bean as it comes out aromatic and fresh. Descartes every two months or so and clean the milk container every alternate day.
February 5th 2018 Update: I love this coffee machine, I had it for 5 years and still working perfectly.

mell the fresh coffee, the only thing I don't like is the milk not being hot to my liking, great otherwise. Very easy to clean, fill in the water container and just use a skewer to clean the straw in the milk container, always decal so you keep on getting the great taste at all times. Very easy to use and set up the preferred amount of coffee and milk combination to create your coffee being latte, cappuccino or just an espresso. You can also select the strength of coffee.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
packed it in after 12 months
One year after paying $1500, the machine has given up, grinds coffee and that's about it. Doesn't pump water through, Had a previous Saeco for 6 years before it started giving problems, I'd expect a fully replaced new machine not a run around with a repairer. Can't say I'm impressed with this machine at all.

Easy to use.
I have owned this machine for 5 months now and it has been flawless in every respect.
Operation is easy, coffee beans up the top and press the button and presto, great coffee.
There is a milk frother jug attachment which you can attach which can be temperamental, I tend to use the manual wand, which works better and gets the milk hotter.
Clean up is simple, the coffee waste goes strait to the tray and everything is automatic. I prompts when to fill the water holder, empty the coffee waste etc.
I am impressed how quickly it heats up, under 30 seconds which is impressive. There is a wake up function, but not needed due to the quick heat up function.
Most importantly the coffee taste great and simple to use and clean.

Great for an auto machine
I am pleasantly surprised with our new machine - we had a manual machine that had come to the end of its life and was nervous about moving to an auto. The lack of mess from coffee grinds falling everywhere is great as it constantly frustrated me with our last machine - the grinds all stay on the inside.
The heat is perfect - too hot to drink it quickly but doesn't scold your mouth, we have it on the hottest setting. If you like a ridiculously hot coffee this may not be the machine for you.
The coffee is easy and good quality, can't compare to a commercial manual coffee machine but for the ease of it we are very happy.
We have only had it a couple of weeks I will update if something goes wrong.

Life changing coffee
The Delonghi Eletta is my favourite kitchen appliance! I am by no means a morning person but this machine makes mornings so much simpler. I simply touch 2 buttons to make my morning coffee. No waiting around for ages, it heats up in less than 30 seconds, no messy coffee grinds going everywhere, it grinds the perfect amount to my liking each time, if the machine needs water or cleaning, it tells me, there is no guess work with this machine. And the cleaning process is super simple.
People always bag fully automatic machines for not having a great tasting coffee but to me, this machine does it perfectly and with so many easy to customise options, there is no reason your coffee should taste bad.

Dont buy
Waste of money. Like the other person it is stuck on descale and just keeps pumping water untill it makes a terrible noise. Temperature is lukewarm, only had it just over a year. Been replaced once and gone back twice. Delonghi rep really stands her ground and says its the best on the market. Lemon of a machine. Will buy Jura next. Waste of time and effort.

Stuck in descale
Every time this machines flashes descale it gets stuck in descale mode.Ends up just pumping and pumping until there is nothing but steam and machine heats up and makes terrible noise. . It has been back to service agent mutliple times for this problem. This is a fault so I would say this machine is a Lemon. I have contacted delonghi customer support but the say just take it to service agent.

Perfect for our needs!
I went through 3 machines in 2 years before settling on the Eletta ( I either wasn't happy with the taste or they required too much work. The 3 included a manual machine (Gaggia) and two other delonghi automatics. Its clear that not all automatic machines (even with the same manufacturer )are the same. Use good quality freshly roasted beans and this machine will brew you an excellent espresso and very good latte. It's never going to match a manual machine but the balance betweeen convenience and taste is the best you can get in my opinion. I'm keeping mine :)

Very disappointed
This is called a Cappuccino machine and yet it makes terrible Cappuccinos, they say to use skim milk for the best result, I have tried every type of milk and all I get is a milk coffee with a bit of head on it. It keeps telling me to empty the grinds drawer sometimes after only 2 grinds and the fact that it self cleans both when turning it on and off means I am forever topping up the water tank.
I have had to change to a smaller cup size after buying this machine as it has no capability to fill an Ikea coffee cup without doing a second grind, ...Read more

Good if you like an iced coffee
For $1800 I thought I'd at least get a hot coffee! After reading the manuals and adjusting the milk temperature to high, I'm still left with a barely warm coffee and have to stick it in the microwave to get it to an average temperature...I'm not a "burn my mouth off" coffee drinker, I'd be happy with a 60degree coffee, but this machine is producing a temperature I'd serve my 5 year olds hot chocolate.
I purchased from Harvey Norman, and when I went back to discuss they even advised me that this is a problem with this machine (Well, thanks fo...Read more
r selling it to me!) and that there is a part that Delonghi can send to make the coffee hotter, after 3-months of waiting, I've now been advised that they won't send it out as Delonghi don't wish to admit this fault and that I will have to send my machine away to be "fixed". Sorry, who's going to reimburse me for the next 2-3 weeks coffees I'm now going to have to purchase whilst you fix a problem that was known. I said to the sales agent that I'll call Delonghi direct, she basically shrugged and said good luck with them. The whole affair from purchasing to after sales care is appalling. Supposedly as the temperature problem has been recognised, the newer model does not have this issue. Great! for those who have the newer model, but bad luck if you were sold this one. Thanks Delonghi and Harvey Norman for wasting my money!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fabulous! Best ever!
We have had 2 Juras over the past 12 years. This is by far a better coffee maker. Coffee is good milk is hot enough (this is a programmable feature which is such a bonus). My husband and I have different preferences for how our coffee is delivered. Not a problem to program to suit each of us or to deliver other preferences for visitors. Just love it not a thing to complain about! This is much easier to maintain than the Jura and easy to clean. It has a large capacity and easy to access coffee bean dispenser. Water storage is also large. All very important features as you don't want to be filling the coffee maker every 5 minutes. Recommend this machine with confidence!

Questions & Answers
Alyson W.asked
Hi we just bought this machine but the coffee just drips out I.e doesn't flow. Is this normal?
1 answer
Cheryl B.DeLonghi
Hi Alyson, perhaps check what grind and aroma setting you have the machine on if the grind setting is too low a number the grounds will be too fine stopping the water from pouring through the coffee and if the aroma setting is on max as well as the coffee being too fine it will stop the coffee from pouring smoothly.
The grind control is the numbered dial inside the bean container.
Hope this helps let me know how you go.

Hi I am having issues with the buttons on my machine.
Unless I keep my finger on the button for the entire process it stops - even if it has already started pouring coffee into my cup.
I have lost countless amounts of ground coffee and it is getting frustrating!
Any ideas on what may be causing this issue?

Hi Nikki,
Thank you for your question. I believe in this case it is best you call our customer service team to organise a service of your machine. Their number is 1800 126 659.
