Love this machine
Received as a wedding gift, cant comment on pricing as I dont know if I would have forked out so much.
Wasnt happy with it at first, but realised after a few months of using it that it just required some fine tuning to get it the way we like it!
The machine is easy to use with straight forward buttons/dials.
Easy to clean.
If youre a coffee lover, you probably would want it on the fine grind setting. Not knowing much about coffee making, I realised a little late that you get 1 shot of coffee per button press - meaning, amount of coffee i...Read more
s not dependant on volume of water. Once I figured that out I turned the water volume to the lowest and increased the strength and voila. Before figuring this out my coffee always tasted a little watered down, but again it just needed some personal fine tuning. My only complaint being an 'extra hot' coffee person would be the temperature of the water which - I dont know yet if there is a way to set this to be hotter. And needing to descale a little too often at burnt_sausages mentions. Very happy with our Magnifica

Love it!
Bought this as a gift for my husband. The whole family love it. Easy to adjust strength & volume of coffee. Very easy to use & clean. My only negative would be that it seems to need descaling very regularly to the point we now ignore the alarm light for that.

Consistent coffee machine
I bought this coffee machine as we have had another Delonghi S ECAM22110SB. These machines are easy to use and easy to clean. I don't often use the milk frother but was easy enough to use when I did try it out. The water tank holds a reasonable volume of water.
This machine is great for making coffee before work in the morning.

Great value for money and a great expresso machine!!!
I don’t know where ‘Sasha’ gets that 'the quality is very poor, next to no crema, coffee is weak even at the strongest setting and finest grind setting'? ‘Sasha’ you should purchase better quality coffee if you don't get 'crema' as I've never had that problem with the coffee beans that I use and I get 'exceptional crema' every time with this machine! And as for ‘mikecatts’ and ‘Stellabella1980’, get a separate 'milk frothier' (they are very cheap $35.00+ and will make a much better milk froth) as the Steam spout on this machine was never intend...Read more
ed to be used like a professional machine (costing 5k to 10k) is meant to be used. That's what I've always used and I have only used the 'steamer as an occasional thing. From my experience and I’ve had the 'Magnifica ESAM 04.110.B' since 2017, and also had the previous model the 'Magnifica ESAM 3200.S' which this machine is an exact copy of, since 2006 and 12 years. This is what I’ve experience with the 'Magnifica ESAM 04.110.B' and it’s a great value for money expresso machine that makes exceptional expresso coffee for $599.00. This and the previous models are a very efficient and an excellent maker of expresso coffee, it either uses bean coffee or ground coffee, the grinding process is a bit loud but so are any grinders of coffee beans. The electricals of the previous model was a bit fragile and prone to failures, mainly with its automated coffee making system that was prone to circuitry shortages. I hope that this is not the case with this current model but, as a precaution i would suggest that people take out the '48 months Product Care and Replace' insurance as, anything that goes wrong with these sorts of machines, will virtually cost you close to the price of a new one. In saying all that, I've been using this model of DeLogghi 'Magnifica' for 12 years and I suggest that every user should maintain this machine regularly by; cleaning all internal components with a small hair brush, descaling it and cleaning the infuser with tap water and using food grade lubricant to make sure that the infusers internal movable part is well lubricated, these are very important steps that every owner should do regularly or check. Most of the problems that I have had (with the previous model) have occured due to not servicing it regularly, I have had great results and cups of coffee and the longevity of my previous model speaks for itself, as the old model 'ESAM 3200.S' lasted 11 years with only one service call. Another thing, I bought this current model, brand new, for virtually half the price of the last one at $599.00. The materials are virtually the same except for the top, where a stainless steel cup tray (on the old one) has been replaced with a powder coated one in the new model. I'm very satesfied with the 'Magnifica ESAM 04.110.B' and I've had no problems with it. Just remember to clean it regularley and descale the water whenever its required.Similar opinion? Quality machine but lacks fast and easy use.
I bought this machine for a workplace, although the machine creates quite nice tasting coffee it is somewhat difficult to setup and operate compared to previous machines. The coffee machine is also quite slow at turning on and heating up the milk frother, but as a whole it is a quality machine.

Great machine
Had machine for 2 months now and very happy. Takes a little while to get the grind and strength settings to suit your taste but once you find it you can set and forget. Milk frother/steam wand easy enough to clean after each use. Had been using pod machine prior but would highly recommend this machine.

Good mid range machine
Bought this model to replace my pod based machines after feeling guilty about the environmental impact. Had to do a little experimenting, but if you buy quality beans and store them correctly, this machine produces good tasting coffee. Disappointed you couldn't adjust the grind and amount of coffee dispensed with more precision. Simple to keep clean and seems reliable so far. Very happy with my purcase.

It's practical and good
Indeed I like the outcome of this machine, the frother is good, the grinder as well.
Yes it's simple and easy to use and every member of the family can use it easily.
The way it needed to be clean is automatic, it takes some time but it's efficient and reasonable.

A Continuation of a great and previous expresso coffee machine model
The DeLogghi 'Magnifica ESAM 04.110.B' is based and virtually an exact copy of their older model the 'Magnifica ESAM 3200.S'. Both of these models are a very efficient and an excellent maker of expresso coffee, it either uses bean coffee or ground coffee, the grinding process is a bit loud but so are any grinders of coffee beans and makes a perfect cup of expresso coffee. Btw, just as a historical note, the 'DeLogghi company was founded in Treviso, Italy by the De'Longhi family in 1902 as a small industrial parts manufacturing workshop. Very weak coffee, lacking taste
The coffee machine is very easy to operate, you can get a cup of coffee in a couple of minutes.
However, the quality is very poor, next to no crema, coffee is weak even at the strongest setting and finest grind setting.
I suspect that the built-in grinder is a problem, too coarse for real expresso.
I do not use frother, can't comment on the quality.
if you like your coffee strong and with crema, do not buy this delonghi coffee machine

Rubbish, cheaply made machine that broke in 2 days of purchase. no control over milk temp.. luke war
Bought this 2 days ago and the grinder broke/wont grind/making a funny noise.. The milk throffer isnt too good. It will only let you make a capachino type throff.. no good for steaming milk.. Over all this unit isnt too good as a coffee machine.. More of a "gimic" as to a proper barrista type of machine.. You cant get the coffee/milk hot, basically luke warm.... Not too many options when deciding what type of coffee you want. for the high price on this unit.. Ide say "stay away" from it.. Get a machine that has a group head as you have more control.. Now the fun begins to return for the money back.. Im buying another brand.. Sunbeam has been reliable to me over the years.

Good and simple, but a bit pricey for what you get
Delonghi's in general are pricey for what they offer. This is a well simplified and cheaply made of the original Esam 3000 series. Most surfaces are plastic and instead of chrome you get stainless steel. The machine is made in Romania which gives me a bit of worry. Otherwise, how the coffee comes out will be up to your fine tuning. PS. You might want to change the coffee/boiler temperature, because it is set to mid out of the box and that just results in lukewarm drink if you only use milk from the fridge.

Best coffee machine ever
with the beans I am using (DeLonghi, from The Good Guys) I am having the best flavoured coffee, The machine is easy to set up and use, I have not needed to clean it yet, a light comes on when it needs cleaning, I'm sure that if I follow the instructions I should not have any problems.

Makes Great Coffee
This machine makes perfect coffee everytime. You can control everything with it to make coffee the way you like.
The removable tray and water reservoir makes it really easy to clean. The lights on the front of the machine also light up whenever something is wrong like empty water reservoir or rescaling needed.
I would definetly recommend this machine.

DeLonghi Magnifica Automatic Coffee Machine - Black-ESAM04110B
Got this machine from Harvey Norman recently.Sleek, easy to use and portable- it was a great buy.
It was easy to set it up. In my opinion, at the moment as far as prices are concerned this is a great product.
This DeLonghi machine also has built in Cappuccino maker and after 2 weeks of using it, I am more than happy with its functionality.Highly recommended.

Do not waste your money
I have had this machine now for 4 months and can not make a good coffee with it. Have been over the manual many times and played with the settings - wasting a full bag of good beans and still can not get this machine to make a decent coffee. It takes 2.5minutes for the milk to heat to 60deg (which is the normal heat range to make a milky coffee) and there's no way you would get a good foam for a cappuccino from the frother iin this machine. I have written to delonghi with questions and concerns and had no reply. Don't waste your money.

Hi Steve, thanks for asking us a question. This model does not fit a container type frother, it only has a wand. So no, it would not fit. Best, De'Longhi

Our descaling light has continued to flash despite performing a descaling. Plus our coffee, regardless of beans, taste terrible. Almost a metallic taste. Any suggestions?

Em.. our coffee tastes really nice :D I use lavazza espresso medium roast beans from Coles. Try to play with knob position. Maybe you should call to delonghi.
It’s the water setting you need to test your water and adjust your water hardness setting
Althomasked
We purchased our 6 weeks ago. After using the test strip we set the water hardness at 2. We've made abt 250 cups since then but the descaling alarm hasn't come on yet. How many cups before we can expect it to come on?
