You actually flip up the tray and insert the glass if it’s taller

You can flip it up to make way for taller cups and glasses.

It is weird. It may be set to very long and your cup may not hold all the water. Try to set the dosage again.

This isn't normal. I'd be taking it back, if it is still under warranty.

I have the same problem. On lungo the water fills the drip tray below to overflowing though it is not actually overfilling mug. Mug fits beautifully and this water must come from inside not down the filling spout. Have to empty the used capsule/drip trays every use which is a pain. Please does anyone know about this. Cup not overfilling, still room at the end.! Elizabeth

My De'Longhi Nespresso en520 only makes long black with the merest amount of water, usually I heat the cup first using this setting, still only small amount of hot water coming out.
The other settings are okay, yes I have de-scaled it, not recently though, could this be the problem even though the other settings work? what do i do?

Have you tried holding the button down, releasing when you have the amount of water/coffee you prefer? You can do a different amount for each button.
The machine should "remember" your preference until you redo.
Sorry if you have already done this with no success.

The on-off button has failed. I can no longer turn the machine on. The button feels 'squashy' - there is no click. Is there some way to by-pass the button and use thevpowerpoint only?

I'm not sure, I haven't had this issue before. Have you tried calling the Nespresso line? They have fantastic service and support and are open 24/7

What is the best way to clean the milk frother. Even though I clean it after each use, the milk catches on the bottom and has a burnt mark on one spot which I can't seem to get to clean off anymore. The machine is only 6 months old??

1 answer

After use, rinse well with cold water, stand upside-down to try on dish rack or similar. When it's dry, you should have one small spot of dried milk which peels off easily with plastic or wooden spatula. You can then re-rinse if you're concerned.

We have had our delonghi pixie for 18 months and as some of you have said take it away with us as we cant be without it. But over a period of time it is making smaller and smaller coffees. What i now do is use the coffee machin e s boling water to put some in the cup before I use the capsule so I buy the black one so it is a strong coffee.. We have had trouble with our frothier as well. It's just not hot enough. I rang nespresso and had a lovely lady that took me through a few steps and it heated up the milk but now it's Luke warm again. On average we have 10 cups of coffee a day, maybe it's wearing out. If my pixie did die
I would have to go and buy another one straight away as it is the best coffee I have ever tasted.
Anyone else had this problem?

How do I get the milk frother to work?

1 answer
teflon_jim
teflon_jim

Just set it onto the base and plug the base into the power outlet. There is a on/off switch on the frother itself. User that to power it on. It will switch off automatically when done. Just fill it with milk (not past the max allowed line!) and voila.

Hope that helps.

The Longo button on my machine only lets through 5 sec of water, is there anything I can do to reset it to the original factory setting? or make it work for longer time?

According to the instruction manual (p.21) you can reset to factory settings by following these steps:
1) If the machine is on, turn it off
2) Press the Lungo button and keep it pressed down while you turn the machine on
3) Factory settings of 40ml for an Espresso cup, or 110ml for a Lungo cup, should now be re-installed
We needed to do this once because of lower than normal volumes coming through and it worked.

Mattttttty
Mattttttty

From memory - if you hold the Lungo button down down for longer it will keep pumping water through the capsule until you let it go. There is a way to re-program the buttons, you might have to refer to your owners manual.

Does anyone know the best way to make a good long black using the Pixie? I find the Lungo button too small....does anyone else actually drink long black coffee? I think Im in the minority :)

Most Delonghi models you can alter the automatic water quantity by holding down the button until you have the desired amount, thereafter you will get that amount each time. But remember if you pass too much water through the capsule, the coffee will become bitter and weak.
