I think they do a bill compare if you ask them. They did it for us. They're good even with no solar.

It would be tricky to get solar panels in an apartment but Diamond energy is sourced from renewables, so at least you know you're helping the planet!

I can only speculate, that as a tenant, after getting the owner's agreement to install panels, if indeed you are responsible for the electricity bill as most tenants in Australia are, you would earn as much credit for the electricity your panels generate as an owner would, but without the security of tenure an owner has, you will have the extra costs of uninstalling, taking the system with you and reinstalling on your next rental property...if you can find an owner who agrees to it.

We have solar panels, a 5kw system.
Diamond energy give us 11cents per kw put back into the grid.
But I think the main benefit is that with solar it uses the power generated for the home use first then any excess going back into the grid.
My bills have more than halved since installing solar.
Try using your heavy electricity usage between 9am and 2pm if possible, that is the maximum gain period for solar.
I must admit I have not heard of anyone taking the solar installation with them when they move.
The way new technology is going, there will be bigger and better all the time.

If your bill is 800 plus you may benefit. Personally I would go halves with the owner and only if your bill is really high

I recommend the Alternative Energy Association for this, Tabatha. One year's membership is well worth it for you, and for them. Look up the Queensland branch.

You need to contact Diamond Energy. I am very happy with their rates & customer service plus they source 91% of their energy from renewables.

Because "product review" is where one can ask questions to other consumers and where consumers write reviews.
But - as pointed out by DRose above: Your need to contact Diamond Energy about this.
Which you know yourself, as your ask: "Could you tell me what are your rates", i.e. your question is directed to Diamond Energy.
Thus best to ask them for a quote via their website.

However, since you are asking your question here on product review to other customers/consumers:
I am a happy NSW customer of Diamond Energy.
Plus, info from Diamond website: "Diamond Energy standard feed-in rate is 12 c/kWh"
Also, I can tell you - in contrast to other providers - Diamond does not hand-cuff you with a lock-in contract.

Your meter will be read, and the bill issued, each three months. The meter reading is handled by the distribution company, not by the retailer, and they read every meter in your street, and every other street, according to their three-month timetable. You happened to move in about 2 months after they read the meters in your street - from now on, expect about three months to pass between bills. The controlled load meter is most likely for your electric hot water system.

It really depends on what feed-in tariff you are getting. If you are on a plan with after hours & weekend off-peak rates, you may be better off running it during those hours. My off-peak hours are 11pm-7am & all weekend.

If my credit is greater than $50 they will pay to my bank account unless I request otherwise. I am usually in credit over the summer months then that amount is deducted from my winter bill.
