Great service!
Everyone is so great and easy to talk to. I've never had issues so I've never had to call and winge. But when I called to disconnect (due to no gas) they answered quickly and the lady I spoke to, Jess, was lovely and helpful. Didn't make me feel bad at all.
Will return when I move

Greedy Supplier
Have been with Diamond Energy for approximately 3 years, it was highly recommended - green friendly, good customer service. Not a problem until we moved from our property I called first time in December, and advising the we are moving and the property is going to be unoccupied. The customer rep advice was to keep electricity until new owner moved in. Mid of January we payed $178.60 not being in property. I have to add that we do have sole panels 2.5 KW . In the end of February I again called advising that the new owners might move in soon ask...Read more
ing for advice what now, again I called 16 of March informing that new people are residing in our property I was advice do nothing as the new people will open their account. Few days ago I received another bill from Diamond this time $85,60. I called again a young lady told me there are no record of my calls or any request and I have to pay to disconnect the power. My patients disappeared ... I asked for the supervisor, total shock young man is telling me the same - there are no records of any conversation or request for disconnection. I got upset that he calls me a liar, and keep explaining and asking what I want totally humiliated I give -up told I pay... thank you,, Then I was offered a credit to have account in our new property with Diamond Energy if I use services .. I decline the offer .

Not a happy customer
There is no point calling their customer service as they don't seem to do anything. Requested to change over to them asap to get the most out of my new solar panels with extra cost involved. Complete mess up, finally connected after 3 months. I feel that I have been very clear with what I wanted. But they have no provide me with what I am expecting.

Not their problem.
Company failed to call and let me know my power had failed to shut off. Then received a 200 dollar bill 3 months later after bein told my account was closed. I was required to pay plus extra disconnection fees. No courtesy or accountability. Would not recommend.

Diamond Energy
I have been with Diamond Energy for a number of years since installing solar panels. They started extremely cheap but over the years their rates and daily charges continue to increase whereby now I'm paying 3 times more a month compared to two years ago. So enough is enough.
I have found someone that will save me $40 at least per month based on information I received from i-select and the supplier. In saying that we will wait for a month or so to see if this is 'fact'. That is, will await for the bill to confirm. Their systems however show tha...Read more

delivers as promised
Having solar panels and getting the credit is a good thing. After being with origin for years and seeing the fake discounts and price hikes I decided to jump ship and go with diamond. They are good, genuine and also mainly humans. In all this time I have had one problem which got sorted eventually. For all those people who have had issues and complaints please bare in mind these are humans and they do make mistakes, which can be resolved if you treat them like humans and not your slaves who bend over to your demand. Threating or mistreating them will only make things worse as the contract will be enforced even harder.

Very satisfied with Diamond energy.
I've been with Diamond Energy in VIC since 2011 when I had PV installed. I received excellent advice from customer support when choosing a retailer and decided to change to Diamond Energy before the PV system was installed. A very smooth commissioning of system followed, taking less than a week from installation. Since then I've had 5 years up to the present with no technical or billing problems using direct debit/auto-deposit of FIT income from/to my bank. I have excellent access to data showing power usage from grid and power feed-in to gr...Read more
id, both graphical and downloadable data. My neighbour had a system installed 6 weeks before me; I was connected and on-line nearly 3 months before him. (He did not go with Diamond Energy as his power retailer.) Based on my happy experience I have encouraged a family member in QLD who is having a PV system installed to go with Diamond Energy. Given some of the less complimentary reviews you can rest assured you'll see a review from him if his experience is in any way negative. As of right now it's ten out of 10, Diamond Energy!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Diamond Energy is a customer service orientated retailer
We have been a customer with DE for 5 years, they were very helpful after we had a solar system installed and getting us signed up.
During the 5 years we have had problems with the supplier (SPAusnet), Diamond Energy sorted these out (incorrect meter readings, estimated readings). These problems were not caused by DE, yet they still resolved them with the supplier. There are not too many companies in any field were you can ring and actually talk to a human, DE is one, their customer service is excellent and i have recommended them to many friends and family.

Worst service we have ever experienced
We signed up for 100% renewable with direct debit. Assumed we were paying quarterly as agreed. 5 months after cancellation because we moved, we get a final notice for entire amount... they hadn't done a single reading in 9 months and we had never received an invoice. No responses to emails and no explanation for constant errors on their part. Avoid this company!

Diamond energy rip-offs
I have solar. Over two and a half years the feed-in rate has dropped from 22c/kWh to 8c/kWh and the daily supply charge has gone up from 50.219 cents a day to 131.44 cents a day, that is an increase of over 150%. Now you must produce more than 16 kWh daily just to cover diamond energy's supply charge. Previously 3 kWh would cover the daily supply charge. How can they justify this?

Terrible......would give a minus if I could!
My first mistake was having solar installed under a contract that stipulated that Diamond needed to be my provider. With many phones it took them over nine months and numerous phones calls from me to receive a nasty final notice of $1800 or they will cut my power. In the ensuing phone calls not once was I apologised to or did the company admit any fault.
Now to my current situation. We sold the property and the new owners took over the he contract. I rang the company to cancel the direct debit as I felt that the above mentioned amount shoul...Read more
d have been paid off. The person on the phone confirmed I was actually in credit but the refund couldn't be finalised until the next bill was issued. Thinking this was strange I let it slide until I had something from them. This took a further three weeks to arrive and to my horror they never changed to the new owner and have charged me for their bill! Now it's been numerous phone calls and I've been given the complete run around and I still don't have my refund for the credit or the money I have paid towards the new owners bill. Does it seem a coincidence that half the names that are appearing on the 5 star rating are the same names of the people who have been giving me the run around on the phone?Similar opinion? Great service! Supports renewable energy. A+
A green electricity retailer that takes customer service to the next level. No other retailer comes anywhere even close to providing the service that these guys bring to the industry.
I always recommend them to my family and friends.

Diamond Energy - 100% Renewable and very friendly
I love that I can buy 100% renewable energy from a company that ONLY sells 100% renewable energy. Not one of the big fossil fuel fuel companies that begrudgingly sell GreenPower just to keep you on their books while lobbying behind the scenes against the Renewable Energy Target and other carbon reducing policies. Diamond Energy are also very friendly on the phone, which I like.

Best electricity retailer - excellent service and easy to deal with
Was looking for an electricity retailer with good green credentials and locally based (no international call centres please - I haven't got time to waste) and came across Diamond Energy - answered the phone straight away, fantastic service and nice people. I would recommend them to anyone.

Great service - they answered the phone!
I heard about Diamond Energy and decided to join up because they support renewable energy. I called up and to my surprise they answered the phone with only a couple of rings. I was expecting to wait in a queue for ages. They gave me good advice and I then signed up in a couple of minutes on their website. Easy - no hassles. I would recommend them to anyone. Their rates are good too.

Be aware or the disconnection and termination fees
I joined Diamond Energy (DE) at the end of June, I knew I was likely to relocate in the new 3 months so I checked I would not be charged any disconnection/termination/relocation fee beforehand and was assured this would not be the case. I ended up getting another cheaper environmentally friendly provider when I relocated. I received my DE bill on 30 September which includes $20 termination fee and $140 disconnection fee (Ausgrid), DE claims it's not responsible for and cannot do anything about the AUSGRID fee I would have thought DE could ...Read more
have organised a meter reading rather than a service disconnection. i have moved house at least 20 times if not more and have NEVER been charged a $140 disconnection fee. I requested my complaint and refusal to pay to be addressed by a manager who has assured me via a voice mail that another bill will be issued with those charges removed. Expect a battle about charges if you choose DE as a supplier then have to discontinue the service or relocate !!! the customer officer who initially took my call did not think it was such a big deal and the issue was not them but with Ausgrid, therefore I should just pay up.Similar opinion? Hopeful at first now just don't want to deal with them
Initially I was hopeful about this company as they had a personal touch to the service and seem to be keen to do the right thing.
Problems first started when I organised for a reprogramming of a new solar capable meter I'd just purchased when they switched me to solar but Diamond ended up throwing out my new meter and replaced with a dumb meter. (The reason I signed up as I told them was because they could avoid this happening and use my existing new meter)
THEN after that major stuff up I was billed for the dumb meter and then had to de...Read more
al with months of problems with the meter where Diamond wouldn't get involved in resolving this with citi-power which started as soon as the dumb meter was installed (electrical faults due to the high powered radio transmitters in the cheaply built meter). Next came the billing errors which I had to spend hours helping them resolve with no apology of thanks. Now they are trying to charge me additional fees for meter data that my contract had written in as being part of the service agreed to. They had promised to supply online access to the meter data and this hasn't happened, but now they want to charge for the data that I need for billing verification! Finally the price hikes have arrived.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Should I only go with Diamond Energy if I have solar panels? I am moving out and will be renting so we won't have solar, will it still be a reasonable price?

I think they do a bill compare if you ask them. They did it for us. They're good even with no solar.

I'm looking at Diamond Energy, I'm in an apartment so trying to work out whether I need solar panels or not?

It would be tricky to get solar panels in an apartment but Diamond energy is sourced from renewables, so at least you know you're helping the planet!

Is it more expensive to have solar on private rentals than owning you own home?
3 answers
I can only speculate, that as a tenant, after getting the owner's agreement to install panels, if indeed you are responsible for the electricity bill as most tenants in Australia are, you would earn as much credit for the electricity your panels generate as an owner would, but without the security of tenure an owner has, you will have the extra costs of uninstalling, taking the system with you and reinstalling on your next rental property...if you can find an owner who agrees to it.
Hi.
We have solar panels, a 5kw system.
Diamond energy give us 11cents per kw put back into the grid.
But I think the main benefit is that with solar it uses the power generated for the home use first then any excess going back into the grid.
My bills have more than halved since installing solar.
Try using your heavy electricity usage between 9am and 2pm if possible, that is the maximum gain period for solar.
I must admit I have not heard of anyone taking the solar installation with them when they move.
The way new technology is going, there will be bigger and better all the time.
Hope that helps you.
If your bill is 800 plus you may benefit. Personally I would go halves with the owner and only if your bill is really high
