Useful in warmer weather
We bought this portable air con last summer when our bub was born. I personally dont have any serious problems with it, because we bought it for the purpose of cooling the room she was sleeping in. I find the noise louder than necessary, but it's white noise so it helps the baby sleep. Works well. Does the job.

Does a good job but difficult to configure and run
The Dimplex DC10RC keeps my medium-size bedroom nice and cool. Technically it works great. However, configuring it for heat, cool and dehumidify is extremely confusing. You have to plug this, attach a hose (not included) reverse the exhaust, etc. and all this from a very very very unhelpful users manual that barely gets you through the operation. There isn't even a guide to deciphering the panel icons. I recommend this unit only if you are reasonably handy. If not, it is very easy to suddenly wake up and find your room covered in three inches of water. Is the dehumidifier selected? I don't know, could be. It would certainly help if the function panel was explained.

G,day thought ide write a review of this cool new air cond I brought last Friday 10/1/2014. ok firstly I read other reviews about this product & was a little unsure but after a week of over 40 degres this week im dam glad I brought it. its easy to hook up to any window works great in my little lounge & love it being portable so I can move it to my bedroom at night easy as. I was so impressed with it I showed my neighbour & he went down & brought one aswell, also its reverse cycle so that was a big plus in paying a bit more than a cooling only...Read more
unit. I would recommend this air conditioner to anyone looking to cool a small to medium room, office & caravan (etc) another plus is the power it consumes only 1200 wats in cooling is pretty good I think & less for heating. I shopped around online to find the best deal then went to a shop & got a even better deal so all in all I am well happy. (ps) im not a employee of dimplex just your average person looking for a affordable & cheap to run reverce cycle unit. its 44 degress outside & inside its 27 degress, enough said. nothing1 comment

Find out how Dimplex DC10RC / DC12RCBW / DC15RCBW compares to other Portable Air Conditioners
Know better, choose better.
Best all round portable A/C there is!
IMHO this is the best quality, value for money, Portable, Refrigerated, aircond there is!
Thanks to some trusted reviewers and my own research I finally bit the bullet and purchased the 3kW (10,230 BTU/h) Dimplex DC10RC. This unit STILL one my vote over the better quality and more powerful Olimpia 4.7kW unit that was on special at the Good Guys recently, down from $800 to $569. Why...? Because the Dimplex is one of the three best brands available, presents as value for money, performs adequetely, is very compact and features reverse cycle he...Read more
ating and cooling- Of all these features offered by the 3kW Dimplex, all the superior Olimpia and Delonghi models could match in addition to being slightly more powerful was quality. Firstly and importantly this 3kW Dimplex does a decent job of cooling my medium sized 12 meter square (136 square feet) caravan in 40+ degree outback SA'n weather, keeping the inside temp in the mid 20's in the extremes. The 3kW Dimplex IS the smallest and most compact-designed quality portable A/C currently available in Australia, so it is a good choice, if like me, saving space is a priority for you. It will fit almost flush in the corner of a room and many of the competitors like Olimpia and Delonghi way a ton in comparison to the 3kW Dimplex and the Olimpia does not have wheels like the 3kW Dimplex (Good for senior citizens). Also as far as added space and the competition is concerned, consider the 3kW Dimplex is a reverse cycle unit, meaning it also doubles as a heater, so if your room space is valuable to you, you don't need to buy a heater in addition to an A/C. Reverse cycle portable A/C's seem RARE as far as portable A/C's are go. I found these all amazing features in the 3kW Dimplex, and it baffles me why Olimpia and Delonghi is not offering them. With the 3kW Dimplex I also appreciated the incorporation of dehumidifying technology, the sleep timer, X3 fan speeds and the remote control in such a compact and value for money unit.3 comments
This reads like a paid review. I was going to seriously consider buying this until I read this review. It screams advertisement copy.
Also, are you in outback South Australia or in the NT?
I actually own this unit, had it a year now, and I would have to agree that the review does sound like a paid review.
However this system is great, I bought it because it has the reverse cycle and w... Read more

Questions & Answers
Jason G.asked
After reading the manual book, I still don't understand how to use the heater on DC15RCBW.
If I have to attach a drain hose then the hose should have been included.

What size drain hose do you need for the heating function. The diameter not the length.
