my cover lid latch does not seem to work. Fridge OK when stationary but lid does not lock down. Looks to me like latch spring has been put on backwards as the lid latch pushes back out when let go. Anyone got this same problem

I've got the cf40, so different model but the smaller one is the freezer and bigger one the fridge I believe. Hold down select button to set temp and other features. Have a play with it to familiarise yourself with how it works. Hope this helps.

Can you change from C to f cf50

We purchased this CF-50 in 2016 and for the most part worked well. Currently when plugged into 240V it works great and NO problems. However, when plugged into the connection in the back of our ute the unit (we have an additional battery connected) works 90% when we are driving. It starts flashing "error" and does not work 80% of the time when we have stopped. Is there a simple way to keep the unit working?

Hi Karl, I found the cigarette lighter plug on the Waeco pretty temperamental. I had that replaced (by somebody who knew what he was doing) by Anderson plugs and this makes it 100% reliable. This is not an expensive fix which hopefully will work for you. cheers Keith
Thanks we will try that as you are correct, lighter plugs are not very good
How to change from C to f on a cf50

Hi just purchased CF50 from Annaconda Store looked at the reviews and it seems this model is problematic is this why they are discounting these models if so I will be returning it and pay the extra dollar on the CFX model please advise me as I have not yet unboxed this unit

Hi Alan, I don't know all of the Waeco brands but my understanding is that the CF50 is, essentially, a baseline model. You can pay more and get bluetooth blah blah but I just want an on/off switch and an adjustable thermostat. I still have an old CF50 (approx 10 years) and had the common problem of the unit freezing but the thermo showing 60 degrees. Obviously not right. As it was an old fridge I was prepared to do minor surgery on the casing (as per Youtube) and replace the thermistor. Cost me about $60 and it is still going well in my laundry. I bought the "new" CF60 about 6 months ago but it is branded as a Kings. It was approx $600 with the external insulation skin included. It is basic but has worked well. Try to use Anderson plugs because the cigarette type move around on rough roads. All up, you get a basic product at a good price. By the way, I bought the Kings 60 litre because its dimensions suited the tub/canopy of my hilux. That was important to me but maybe not others.
good luck. Keith

I have a coolmatic CF 50 which has been in storage for about 4 years. I just tried to use it and even on the first bar on the controls it is freezing my beer. Any help?

Hi TRB, I have the same coolmatic CF50 and the same problem . I thought it may have been the thermostat, so bought one and proceeded to open the bottom and there was not one to be found to replace so i would like to know where it is situated. Regards BM.
Hi Bri M
As it turned out there was red switch labeled emergency that was turned on and caused the problem. But on another unit I had it was the electronic mother board controls and they removed it and replaced it with a manual switch thermostat.

any clues ???

You probably need to put a power conditioner on you 240 outlet, sounds like you are getting surges, my questions would be do you live with 200 km of a heavy industry site such as steel works or smelters, as these regularly have large load spikes. How old is the home switchboard - if it's more than 20 years old it probably is part of the problem. Either way a simple power surge adapter should fix the problem.

Fridge has freezer and cooling system but it is freezing only

If the temperature within the fridge is showing a high figure then it probably indicates that the thermostat is failing. If so, there a youtube clips showing how to replace the thermostat. It is agricultural but works as I have done it.

Hi having problems with my Waco it's a cf50, on 240 its freezes but on 12 volts daul battery system the red light flashes even on the car cigarette lighter what should I look for ?
1 answer
When the red light comes on it’s not getting the required power it needs you will find going through a sig lighter the wiring is too small and does not carry the correct current for the fridge. I had to change mine and install good size wiring to the back of the vehicle where I run my fridge.
