Correct use and prep is key
I’ve used this stuff for years (Dulux epoxy enamel gloss). I’m surprised there are so many negative comments. Most performance errors appear to be incorrect prep and application. DO prime bare steel in several light coats - 10 min apart. Top coat - if you are getting total coverage in the first couple of coats you are going too heavy. 10 min dry time between coats until complete coverage then 24 hours until the next hit required)

Leaves black powder when touched
Hard to put on, you need to make sure you don't go over recently painted areas as it just glugs up or pulls the paint off. Set really well after the 24hrs between coats & even surface, looks nice and solid so I persevered with the rest of the table. Now the table frame is finished it looks good but its powdery when you run your hands over it. Black matt epoxy enamel leaves you with black powder on your hands. Its well & truly set as I finished it a couple of wks ago. Now worried it'll chip or scratch easy. Really disappointed, why is it doing this?

Its amazing, as close to 2k/epoxy paint as 1k enamel can get.
I've used it on chrome, slickest surface you can get. Set up rock hard. Wont chip. Looks and feels like 2k.
The levelng properties are amazing. Leave glass like shine. Just did roof of my old 4x4. Basic prep, wipe down with alcohol and on it went. Looks great, will buff it down eventually but way better than the rusty roof it had earlier.
Its also $11 per can so cant get much better for price.

Absolute rubbish
sprayed 2 bike rims with the white matte enamel. Prepped the rims, sanded, primed, wax and grease remover.
Once I had finished spraying, the finish was chalky, after a few hours drying, the surface was just dust. This isn't a paint, it's bloody horrible
Wont be using dulux again.

Metalshield Hammertone rubbish
Using the charcoal (well it is actualy silver lol) hammertone paint and it is absolute rubbish. Reacts with itself and crackles despite a clean surface. Also reacts with Dulux Glass Black. How the hell can a product react with its own kind?????? Stay away. I'm using another product. And Dulux guys, don't bother adding your cut and paste comment of contacting your helpline. It is useless.

Seems ok to me, not sure why all the bad reviews.
Used it to paint a metal carport and it seems to be holding up great after year or so.
I didnt use any thinners so it is thick and quite hard to brush on, especially as the brush dries. It dried slow, but formed a nice solid coat once done.
I live less than 1km from ocean, I used metalsheild on the posts and painted the undercover parts of the carport in weathershield and that has started to fade a little from the salty air I think. But the metalsheild (satin black) still looks good. Also painted some gates and its holding up well.
